How to be Seen as a "Versatile" Drummer

When I got fired from my first big gig, I was told it was because they thought of me as more of a "rock drummer" and the artist was going in a different direction. What's weird is that I knew that I could play way more than just rock- but somehow was never given an opportunity to show that to the artist. Years later, a producer friend of mine originally called me for some "rock" sessions- but then started calling me in for all kinds of different styles of music. So what was the difference between those two situations? In both cases, they originally only gave me an opportunity to play rock music. But in the case of the producer- he saw that I could play more than just rock, while that first artist only saw me as a rock drummer.

Let's talk about the myth of the "starving artist"... Now, it's certainly not a myth for everyone- there are plenty of starving artists out there- but if you're a drummer who hasn't "hit it big", you certainly shouldn't count yourself as beholden to a life of poverty.

The book I'm sharing with you today- Real Artists Don't Starve by Jeff Goins (Amazon Link) - talks exactly about this idea.

Did you know that the great Michelangelo was extremely wealthy? Well I didn't, until I read this book. Jeff shows example after example of artists who didn't buy into the "starving artist" mentality and how any artist can find new ways of generating income that can result in us as musicians not only surviving on music, but thriving. Based on what I learned in this book, I've been able to move beyond surviving- and I believe you can too!

In part 3 of our series on my favorite books, I'm sharing an old standby. In fact, I think this is the only book on my list of four that I've talked about previously on the podcast.

I'm talking about The 10X Rule by Grant Cardone (Amazon Link)

Now, this is certainly more of a "business" book than a music book. BUT, if you want to achieve WILD success in anything, including music/drumming, this book certainly will speak to you. The basic concept of the book is this: any goal or level of success will typically require 10 times the effort that you originally think it will. So, if you want to achieve something (like becoming a pro drummer), why not start out putting in 10x the effort than you think the goal requires? If you want guaranteed success at something, pick a goal, and then put in 10 times the work.

If you've ever struggled to "stick with it" in your drumming, or if you've ever felt like a MAJORITY of the music you create isn't very good (that's certainly how I feel)- this book is for you. The War of Art reveals the secrets that EVERY great artist eventually learns. My favorite takeaway from this book is something I employ every day- your job as an artist (read: as a DRUMMER) is to simply create art (music). An artist is an artist because he or she creates art... It's not necessarily all good art- in fact MOST art created by even the best artists of our generation is not very good. But great artists understand the value in showing up every day and creating something. It's in this discipline that your creative genius (which everyone has) is given the pathway to emerge.

I started with this book because I truly believe EVERY musician should have this book. It's really small (about the size of a CD) and can be read in less than a couple of hours. And it's worth reading about once a month. Steal Like an Artist walks through the process of understanding that any great artist's job is to steal from other artists (ethically) and combine other influences and pioneers to create a unique voice. This book WILL get your creative juices flowing in new ways and inspire you to not only be a great drummer, but a great artist on the drums!

How I Make My Drum Tracks Feel Better - Even AFTER I've Recorded Them

I recently noticed that sometimes, even when I've played the drums accurately (meaning everything is "lining up" like it should)- that something is missing from the track. Even though I've played the parts well, and it's every bit as accurate as any other track I've played on- why is it that THIS track lacks feel? Did I suddenly lose my groove?

Well those are questions I used to ask myself, until I discovered what the culprit was, and how to fix it... And what's great about this concept is that it works on tracks even AFTER I've recorded them (and no- it doesn't involve chopping up and editing my playing!).

A super-common problem many drummers encounter is the dreaded "my kick drum sounds like I'm bouncing a basketball" issue. Here are a few different ideas on how to fix it...Well hey there, welcome back or more Drummer Daily. I'm happy you're here. My name's Daniel, and I'm going to be your drum coach for at least the amount of time that you listen to this podcast. This weekend, this past weekend, I got a question and I thought I'd share it with you and see if we could maybe help you out with something that you might be facing, which is this. I was doing one of my drive intensives, and the person that I was doing it with, one of his questions was, "Hey, I feel like a lot of times my kick drum sounds like a giant basketball when I hit it." That sound, if you don't know what I mean then you probably don't have this problem. If you relate at all then all of a sudden you'll be like, "Yes, I know exactly what you're talking about."That is a, the kick drum sounding like a basketball, where it just has this really weird bouncy sound to it. It's not a pleasing sound. That's a common problem, and it's a problem that I've had before. It's definitely a problem that I had when I first started playing drums, and especially when I first started really paying attention to tuning drums, and the heads that I was using, things like that.I thought I'd offer a little bit of advice on some places to kind of start looking, to kind of troubleshoot that. The real cause I think of that, and for me to explain this I don't want to get too geeky, or too technical in a way that's boring or hard to follow. In order to kind of really grasp what's happening that causes a bass drum, or a kick drum to sound like a basketball bouncing, we have to think about how a drum creates sound. There's a lot of stuff going on in a drum, and I don't understand most of it. Let me just put that disclaimer out. There's the basics of you have a giant cylinder basically, with a couple of stretchy pieces of plastic on each side. You're hitting one side of that, and there is sound waves being generated. They bounce around inside the drum until the sound waves and the air escape somehow. Either as energy back into one of those two heads, or through an air hole, or another hole in the drum, or the head itself.What I think of is this. When your bass drum beater, when it hits the head, think of it this way. The energy obviously gets transferred from the bass drum beater into that head that it hits. Then that head moves, the whole surface of the head moves at some level, and all of this air and sound waves get pushed out of that head forward into the front head of the bass drum. Now, there's sound waves which is energy, and there's air all moving around. It kind of sends forth energy, it sends forth, I think of it like the energy coming out of the bass drum head that you hit, is kind of like a bunch of football players just running full speed ahead towards that front head.Depending on what that front head is made of, they're either going to bounce off of that head. Think about a bunch of football players running, big heavy football players running at a piece of paper stretched across the field. How easy it would be for them all as a group to just rip right through that, and move it a lot. Versus if there was a giant 20 foot thick brick wall in front of them. No matter how hard they're running, you're going to ... They're going to not get very hard, and probably not move anything at all.Full transcript at http://danielhadaway.com/119

I do like, a live drum clinic kind of thing. As part of that I play the drums. I have a way of mixing all the drums and everything and then putting them through. After I shoot the videos and go live, I always go back and look at the recording, and I try to skip around at least to the parts where I am playing a little bit, just to make sure everything came across well and there weren't any hiccups or pops or hisses or anything like that. Welcome back for more Drummer Daily. I am happy you're here. Today, I over the weekend, this is Tuesday, but over the weekend I painted my studio room. I'm getting prepared for this thing. I'm sure you're probably rolling your eyes at this point because I've talked about it so much, but I'm getting ready to announce something on May first. This episode comes out on April 25th, so were less than a week away. I'm announcing something on May first, and it's a new thing. It's a new thing. I can't tell you what it is yet. I realized I had the need, or it would be better if I kind of revamped my studio space just a little bit, just aesthetically, just how it looks. Painting it was part of that, so I did that.Anyway ... I did that this weekend, so today I'm upstairs, or I'm going to be upstairs in a minute kind of putting everything back in place. I had to move a bunch of sound panels and stuff, sound absorbing panels for acoustic treatment, out of the way so I didn't get paint all over them, so moving all those back, putting plug covers back on the plugs on the wall and things like that. I'm looking forward to getting up there. I love hanging out in my little dedicated music space. It's very relaxing and very cool.Today I wanted to talk to you about something. I actually got an Instagram message from someone who listens and he asked me about, I believe it was Connors who asked me this. Drummers Who "Don't Play With a Click" Are Bad Drummers

I used to say "I don't play with a click- I like the music to have more feel". Well what I was REALLY saying was I CAN'T play to a click and "having more feel" was just my excuse for not being able to hold tempo. Yes, I know records in the 70's were recorded without a click and felt great, but unless you build a time machine, you're stuck playing in TODAY's world- which means playing with a click. To be clear- I'm only referring to drummers who say this as a blanket statement. Of course I don't always play with a click- but if you hear a drummer say "I don't play with a click" chances are you're talking to a bad drummer in denial.

Make a mistake playing drums? Don't fix it! Do it again!I have had a great day today. It's been a busy past few days for me. We had a rehearsal for All Sons & Daughters for our upcoming tour. On Thursday, I'll stop talking in days of the week, because I realize not everyone listens to this the day I record it. About four or five days ago, before the weekend, I had a rehearsal with All Sons & Daughters for tour and then on Friday, went back to the same studio where we rehearsed and had a session. I talked about that, I think, on that day, on Friday.Saturday we had a show with All Sons & Daughters, so we traveled up to Illinois, played a show, drove back yesterday, which would be Sunday and got back in the middle of the day. Today, had another rehearsal with All Sons & Daughters for the tour. That's been great. It's been a lot of fun to go through these new songs and really nitpick those and find what works and what doesn't work. Get a chance to play a lot of new songs all at once, which is always fun. Also, it can be really tiring to focus that long. It's almost like playing a session when you have to pay attention and put your energy into songs. You might play them over and over again, but you still have to focus and make sure you're paying attention to what you're playing and listening to yourself, and all kinds of stuff. Maybe I'll talk about that some day, about rehearsing.Right now, I am sweating and my mouth is on fire, because I just finished eating some Thai curry. I told them to give me a two-spice, which they do the 1-5 on the spice level. I think these people were like getting done for the day and decided they wanted to empty out their spice bucket or whatever the stuff is they put in there, because it was really hot for a two. My wife and I were down there eating, we were like crying. She said, you look like your lips are swollen. They probably are. Anyway, that's what's happening with me. Also, I think that... here's what I don't get. Why does curry retain heat so well? I feel like that and, if you've ever been up to Canada, Tim Hortons coffee, those things stay hot for forever.

Losing Han Solo in the Bushes

How to deal with making mistakes in big situations- and how things aren't always as bad as we think they are.Transcript: Hey, how's it going? Welcome to another episode of Drummer Daily. I'm Daniel. Thanks for listening. Today I want to tell you a story and then relate it back to something to do with drumming. Yesterday I have an office that's downstairs in our house near the front door. My wife works from home. So do I. We have a son. He was outside playing with some friends, and you hear screaming and crying all throughout the time that he's outside playing. He's got some friends on our street that he plays with all the time outside.Anytime, yesterday I'm working and I hear just wailing, just crying, like the end of the world just happened. Once you get to know your kids, you get to know their cries and what things mean. I knew he hadn't hurt himself. I thought maybe the kid had been really mean to him or something. There was something that was just destroying him. I go out there to find out ... I don't always go out when he's crying to try to not make a big deal about it and hopefully he'll learn not to always cry about everything and only cry when it's a big deal, which is something we're working on. Anyway, go outside and I'm like, "What is going on? What is happening?" He told me that Hans Solo was lost in the bushes.TO back up a little bit, my brother and I, we both played with Star Wars toys when we were kids, and my brother ended up with most of the old toys. Most of those toys he ended up having them stored away with him in Seattle. For his birthday, my son really wanted some Star Wars toys because he had seen the new movie and loved it. We got him a few of the new ones, but he really wanted a lot, and so I was like, "It would be so cool to pass down some of my toys to my son because they're exactly the same as the new ones, so why not?" Long story short, my brother shipped some to me, and it includes one of the Hans Solo figures from the '80s.Anyway, my son and his friend were outside, and my son had lost Hans Solo in the bushes out in front of our house. It's funny because that's what caused him to be so upset, was that he had lost Hans Solo. The resolution to that story is that I went out and found Hans Solo pretty quickly. It was around top of the bushes. He hadn't fallen into the bush. He had actually been caught by the other top layer of the bush, and that's where he was.Anyways, flash back 2 to 3 weeks ago, and he has this really nice awesome scooter that he rides around on, and the back wheel has one of those roller blade wheels with the break on it, and the break had broken on, and so he can't really stop anymore, so he can't ride his scooter until we get him a new one. He actually much less upset about that than he was about Hans Solo being temporarily missing. All that to say the things that we choose to make a big deal, and I'm talking about when we make mistakes playing drums, a lot of things that we choose to make a big deal about to ourselves the outside world doesn't think of those things as being as big of a deal.Basically what I'm trying to get at here is if you make a mistake in drumming, and the reason why it even matters what other people think is that drumming is a performance based thing. Part of the reason why most people play drums is that so other people can hear you play. You're trying to give something to those other people. Their perception of what you're doing actually can be important. When we make mistakes, the things we choose to make a big deal about don't actually always matter that much to everyone else.

Today I have a confession to make about how I've practiced my whole life.You're listening to to the Drummer Daily Podcast. The only daily podcast dedicated just to drummers. As I mentioned, yesterday, we are now going to be in part two of three of my miniseries, my three-part opus, my trilogy of epic awesomeness on having more fun playing. Not having more fun playing drums, having more fun practicing the drums. It's always fun to play the drums I think, but practice is what's not always so fun.Today, I want to talk to you about ... Well, I have a confession to make, and then also a tip that kind of comes out of that. My confession is this; I have been playing drums for ... How long has it been now? 27 Years. 27 Years, that's a long time, which you do the math on that, you might figure how old I am, not that it really matters. I'm not scared of that. Anyway, I've been playing drums for 27 years. That's a long time. From day one of playing the drums, until this very moment, now, I'm talking to you, I think realistically I have maybe only played drums, or practiced drums with just me and the drums, probably ten or less times in my entire life.I would guess that most of those times were either during a lesson that I was taking, or, let's see ... I was prepping for an audition for when I played for this Christian artist Rebecca St. James, years and years ago. When I was preparing to audition for her, for her band, I practiced a couple of times the songs that I needed to play. I practiced those from memory to make sure that I had them completely learned without any reference from music. All the rest of the time, I have practiced playing along with music. I mean when I was five years old, there was a boom box blaring music, and I was playing drums with it. All throughout being a teenager, there were headphones on my head, and I never didn't play with music. That's what I was about to say that. I always played with music.What that means for me ... Here's the thing about it, is that I think of myself as maybe a music fan first and foremost. Then I also happen to play the drums. I really love a good song. I really love all of the instrumentation that goes into a great song, or a great performance, or a great band, or for church, you know, a great worship service. I really enjoy every aspect of music. I find a lot of enjoyment in listening to music and seeing it be played live. So much so, that even when I'm playing ... That's maybe why I enjoy playing such simple beats so much, is because I am able to be a part of something that I am perceiving to be bigger. I'm actually, even though I'm playing the drums and the music, I'm actually enjoying the fact that the overall band is sounding great, and I get to be a part of it.

The 80 Percent Rule

Why you should only ever HAVE to play up to 80 percent of your actual abilities.Hey, you guys. Thanks for listening to another episode of this glorious short daily podcast. Today, this episode is coming out a little bit later than I usually put them out each day because I've spent a couple hours outside today painting our deck. We have this stuff that we're painting with that you have to wait to where it hasn't rained in 48 hours. Also, once you paint, you need to make sure that it doesn't rain for another 24 hours after that. Here in Tennessee, in a summer like this, that is nearly impossible to achieve. Basically, 3 days straight without rain. Of course, we finally hit a time, I think today, where that's going to be possible. It was 95 degrees outside. My wife and I have been outside sweating and painting a deck for a while today. It was not fun. We got about half way done. A few weeks ago, I thought we had to half paint a deck and that wasn't cool.Anyway, all I had to say, this episode is a little later. Today, I want to talk to you what I would like to call, the 80% rule. Before I tell you about that, I want to tell you about my drum teacher in high school, my drumline teacher. Her name was Ms. [Vans 01:34]. Think about, if you could combine the coolest mom ever with the drill sergeant, that's what she was. She's all about a tough love. She cared more about us as a drumline and as individual drummers. She cared more about us being great than she did about us having fun. I think I'm really appreciative for that because years later now, you can have fun a lot of different ways. The greatness that she instilled in us to strive for was something that has affected me to this day. That's something that I keep with me. Like I said, fun normally doesn't last very long and doesn't affect you for the rest of your life. Even just the experience of striving for greatness, whether or not you achieve it, that's something that you carry with you.Anyway, I learned this idea from Ms. Vance. In drumline, we would have these warm ups. Of course, these grueling warm ups we had to play and these really tough ... They weren't really cadences because they weren't meant to entertain other people. They were more of just technical exercises. I guess they still were warm ups. They were technical exercises that we had to play. A lot of these things were really hard to play. They were much harder than the actual music we had to play. It was always funny to me and it came up from time to time that we were playing these warm ups and practicing these things that were so hard. When it came time to play whatever music was in the marching band, Reno and the orchestra, or whatever it was that we were doing at that time, what we actually had to play was so simple and easy compared to what we were having to play these exercises and warm ups.

Developing Your Drumming Vocabulary

We don't know what we don't know. So how do you break out of your own mold and learn new drumming vocabulary?Today I was thinking about something, first off I got some feedback. I went live on Facebook yesterday and someone gave me some feedback. I was talking about having a bad habit and he was like, "Hey, I actually don't have that bad habit so instead of trying to use your exercise to break a bad habit I actually did the opposite of your exercise to break my own habit." Which was the exact opposite of what I was talking about, which I thought was really cool. I thought, "Man you're pretty genius if you can ... " I don't think about that, when someone says, "Hey, you should do this thing," I'm pretty like ... I don't know what the word is. If someone gives me advice, like, "Hey, you should do this thing," I'm like, "Okay, yeah I'll do it." I don't thin about it enough to be, "I don't have that problem but actually if I completely flip what you're telling me on its head, that will actually help me. It's valuable in its own way." I thought that was pretty cool.

I'm kind of laughing still. I just was talking to my wife about how awesome it is that there is a ... I've been looking at the stats for downloads for the podcast and how many people are listening to this and I'm amazed that we're not too far into this and there are already quite a few of you who are listening every day and downloading it. I was like "Man, there's this many people listening to the podcast or who want to hear what I have to say." She was like "That's kind of scary." I was like "Yeah, that's true." People are actually wanting to listen to what I have to say every day it is kind of scary, definitely scary for my wife so that's funny.Today I'm really pumped. I wanted to share with you some more practical tips like I promised last episode. Today I want to share with you three tips for tuning a snare drum. Disclaimer on this: This is not THE way to tune a snare drum, this is not necessarily the best way, according to experts, whoever. This is how I tune my snare drum and I thought it would be worth it to mention it to you. I think I have alluded to this before in a previous episode. Here are my three tips, and if you saw me live on Facebook earlier today I mentioned these as well.The first tip is this: Don't approach tuning your snare drum like you tune a tom. A lot of people are fighting against the tone coming out of their snare drum a lot of times and the reason why they are fighting against it is because they learned one way to tune a drum and they use that method on every drum they tune. Snare drums are snare drums, toms are toms. They are made different and they are called different names because they are meant to sound different than each other. If you are tuning your snare drum the same way you tune your toms, then you most likely are fighting with tuning your snare drum.I have heard some feedback from a few of you who have already said "Yes, please talk more about this because I'm fighting with this all the time." A lot of people run into that problem. They're tuning their snare drum the same way they tune their toms and that is a problem. The way that I tune a drum is like this: I first ... Well let me back up because there is another tip. Before I get to how I tune my drum I want to share with you another tip that kind of goes along with this. A lot of people are always trying to tune their snare into a frequency or a tone range that that drum is not made to go in.

Are Flams Killing Your Groove?

Many of us who grew up playing in marching band or orchestra might have a habit of playing a flam every time we hit our right and left hands on the same beat. Today I talk about why this kills the feel of a groove and give you an exercise to start to correct it.Anyway, as promised today I want to share something with you that's a little more practical than what I've been sharing maybe in the past few episodes. I mean, everything is practical, but I mean more something specific to drumming versus just any other kind of principle or idea. Today, we're going to talk about what I think is one of the biggest enemies of playing with a click for sure, even without a click it's something that's kind of built into a lot of us, and it kind of ruins groove when trying to make things feel good. The thing is this, it is flams.A lot of us, myself included, grew up in band, orchestra, marching band, and whenever you play the snare drum, or other kinds of assorted drumming instruments, pretty much every time that you bring your hands down together on the drum, so visualize this with me, you have your hands out, and you're going to bring both hands down on the drum, so both sticks down on the drum at the same time. If you're playing a snare drum, or like I said, other kinds of upright ... banging on them instruments, you're always going to be playing when those hands come down a flam.For those of you who don't know what that is, it's where you hit a small hit ... so both hands come down together, but one hand, the first hand that hits, is going to be a little bit before the hand that actually hits right on the beat. If I'm bringing down a flam on beat one, and it's a right hand flam, my right hand is going to hit on beat one, but my left hand, my left stick, is going to hit right before beat one. It kind of goes "Brrah", kind of a little like ... they call it a flam. It's a little sound where it's kind of more than one hit at the same time. That's all well and good if you're playing snare drum in a marching band or orchestra stuff, but for me over time what happened was I played snare for a couple of years in marching band, and did a lot of orchestra stuff. What happened was I developed a habit of playing flams.

Are you really willing to do what it takes to be a top-notch studio and live drummer?Hey there, you are listening to Drummer Daily, the Podcast, new world's first and only, I think, daily podcast for drummers. My name is Daniel, I am your host and in case you've never listened to this podcast before, this is how every podcast is. No frills, no music, no intro, just me talking. Why is that? It's because I do it everyday and if I had to do all that other stuff, I would never get around to doing the podcast. I want to do it daily for you guys, so that's why you don't hear any crazy production on this. Speaking of crazy production, and I have heard it from a few of you guys, that you'd like to hear more practical tips for drumming. I hear you loud and clear, so tomorrow I promise you I will have a very practical tip for playing drums with a click track, playing in a studio, playing live. Something that will make everything you're doing stand a lot cleaner and have a little more groove to it.Today, because it's Monday when I'm recording this, you might get this on Tuesday morning, but because it's Monday when I'm recording this, I wanted to talk to you about something that maybe will motivate you for the week. That is this, I have been working on this thing called Boom Click Boot Camp for a while. Today it got to the point where I had to ... It's a 14 day boot camp and each day has 3 or 4 little exercises, that each are about, you know, 4 or 5 minutes long. Each of those exercises needs a click track. It's not just a regular click track, it's going to be one that's programmed. Beats drop in and out, accents change, the click goes away completely for a few bars to kind of make it more of a game, where you can kind of hear how well you're keeping up and how well you're holding the beat down.It kind of makes things a little more fun than just playing along and practicing with a click track, playing the same old thing over and over again. Anyway, I have to program all these click tracks, and I didn't really do the math on the front end, but I realized that fourteen days of exercises and each of those days has between three and five exercises. Which meant that I had to program unique click tracks for each of those three or five exercises each day. You do the math on that and the way it worked out for me is I had fifty-three original click tracks that I had to program, and so I was doing that today. There's not many things like what I'm doing for this boot camp thing, and I always was like, "Why has no one done this before?" And I think I realized today why no one has done this before. It's because it's a lot of work, and that's just making this thing, not all the work that goes into actually making sure people know about it and can participate and all the technical stuff.

The Shortcut to Getting Better at Drums

My friend Dan said something interesting today after we finished filming my Boot Camp for Drummers.I've been filming all day for Boom Click Boot Camp. I'm recording this Friday night. My family's downstairs watching the Olympics opening ceremony which is like blowing my mind. I feel like I'm that guy on Super Troopers, I'm freaking out man because it's crazy.Anyway, I've been having a great day. Like I said, we filmed all the pre-recorded stuff for Boom Click Boot Camp today and I just wanted to share with you guys. There's this crazy thing that happened ... well it's not crazy to me because I knew it was true, but it was fun because my buddy, Dan, who's shooting all of these videos for me was here with me today. After we got done, we were wrapping up, we did the whole thing and it was great. What was crazy was he was like,"Yes man, I think this is going to do really well." He's a musician too. He's not a drummer, but he's a musician so he kind of understood what we were doing. He's like, you know what's crazy is I think people are going to really like this stuff, but you know what's crazy is it's not really anything ground breaking. It's not anything earth shattering or anything new. I was like, you're exactly right.That's the thing is what's going in to this boot camp is not anything mind blowingly new or different or secret. It's some structured exercises that I've put together. There's some cool, fun things in there that I'll tell you about later, but really it's nothing new. That's the thing is that what's true or what's been true for hundreds of years about drumming or any kind of craft or art like music is still true today and that's that the secret to getting better is not a secret. You just keep doing it. You work at it. You don't waste your time doing things that aren't going to help you so you don't spend hours and hours and hours doing things that aren't really going to improve you at all. You can't sit there and play the same beat for hours and hours and get better at all kinds of drumming. You get better at that one thing. What you have to do is you have to be smart at what you work on.

Every pro drummer I know shares this one trait - adopt this into your life and get a head start in your music career!Yeah this is Daniel and you're listening to the Drummer Daily Podcast. I'm going to stop numbering these podcast, I was saying what number each episode was, but I'm not going to do that anymore. I realized that I plan on doing these daily and honestly. I'll probable be forgetting what number it is very soon, so no more numbers.I will just say and mention one thing, yesterday if you listened to yesterday's podcast. You probably just heard it randomly cut off at the end, which if you actually listen to the podcast. You'll know that was just par for the course yesterday, things going wrong, having to fight through things. Which happens a lot sometimes and the life of a entrepreneur and definitely life of a drummer. Things don't always go right, so sorry about that if you heard that. We're recovering today.

I like to at least try to get some professional mics and multi-track it into logic so that it sounds decent.
