After retiring from the Royal Marines, Conrad founded Salama Fikira (now part of the SF Group), a pan‑African and Asian risk management company based in Nairobi. Through this firm, he was responsible for managing the recovery of more than 50 commercial ships seized by Somali pirates during the height of piracy off the Horn of Africa in the 2000s and 2010s. These operations involved complex kidnap‑for‑ransom negotiations, maritime security planning, and coordination with navies and shipping companies, all conducted with a perfect safety record: no fatalities or serious incidents among the crews or his teams. His work in this space is widely recognised as a benchmark in maritime risk management and crisis response, and he continues to speak and advise on the resurgence of piracy threats in the region. 

Conrad is now Chairman of the Salama Fikira Group, a leading risk management and security provider with a presence across 80% of Africa and parts of Asia and Europe. The company specialises in enterprise risk, operational design, and security in complex environments, often in fragile or conflict‑affected states. He is also deeply involved in conservation and community development in East Africa, particularly in Kenya. In January 2026, he was gazetted by the Government of Kenya as an Honorary Warden under the Kenya Wildlife Service, a practical, frontline role in wildlife protection, anti‑poaching, and human‑wildlife conflict management. He is a director of Tsavo Trust and supports community‑centred initiatives such as a Sikh‑inspired “Zero Hunger for Langar” school feeding programme, reflecting his belief that conservation must be rooted in community engagement. 

In 2025, he and his team (Stephen White, Craig Howorth and Jamie Gillespie) repeated this feat, becoming the only all‑amputee team in history to cross the Channel twice. The 2025 swim, completed in 14 hours 40 minutes through rough seas and jellyfish, raised funds and awareness for Blesma, challenging perceptions of disability and inspiring other injured veterans.

He is particularly interested in the social structures, traditions, and histories of East African communities, and how these intersect with conservation, governance, and development. This deep cultural understanding informs both his business and conservation work, allowing him to design risk and security strategies that are culturally sensitive and community‑led. In conversation, he brings a rare blend of military precision, strategic business thinking, and anthropological insight into African societies, making him a compelling and passionate interviewee.

For his last 4 years in the Army, Andrew was Director of Army Recruiting, responsible for the recruitment of 17,000 officers and soldiers annually into the Regular and Reserve Army. As part of this work, he led a project to identify how commercial best practices, capabilities, and expertise could help to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of Army recruiting. Earlier Army appointments included command of an Army brigade in Scotland; Responsibility for the Army’s UK Training Estate, and 3 years on the Commitments (Operations) Staff in the Ministry of Defence at the height of the Kosovo crisis. In 1996, he achieved his lifelong ambition to command 1st Battalion, The King’s Scottish Borderers. 

He sits on the board of a US Not-For-Profit, Corporate America Supports You. He is a volunteer mentor for SSAFA and an active supporter of Combat Stress. In 2023, he established and now leads a #JoiningForces initiative to foster and enable collaboration between ‘Forces Friendly organisations.

Thapa Magar was one of only two Gurkhas from the Royal Gurkha Rifles to pass the highly selective entry to the British Special Forces, serving as head of the SAS Mountain Troops. He operated on the front lines in Iraq and Afghanistan, demonstrating exceptional leadership under pressure, and was the first serving Warrant Officer to summit both Everest and K2. Krishna Thapa holds nine world-first records in mountaineering, including leading the largest summit group ever to Everest, and making pioneering ski descents from peaks such as Dhaulagiri. He has guided and inspired climbers from diverse backgrounds, including amputees, the visually impaired, and Parkinson’s disease sufferers, on expeditions around the globe—it’s not just about the climbing but about enabling others to overcome adversity. As leader of Gurkha Everest Expeditions, he became the first serving Gurkha soldier to scale the world’s highest peak while opening climbing routes and exemplifying teamwork and resilience.

Sam has undertaken some big roles in politics and Government. He was Sir Keir Starmer's Chief of Staff for the turnaround of the Labour Party and long-serving adviser to Chancellor Rt Hon Alistair Darling's during the Global Financial Crisis. Sam helped Starmer drive the political and professional transformation of the Labour Party in opposition; climbing from -10% in the polls when Sam took on the role to +30% when he left.

He has worked across Government: in Whitehall, in devolved administrations and with intergovernmental bodies, and covered briefs including the Treasury, transport, energy, business and trade during the last Labour Governments under Tony Blair & Gordon Brown.

Sam spent a decade as a senior executive at the FTSE100 Aviva plc, running a range of teams and advising the CEOs and Board. One of the projects he was most proud of is authoring Aviva's Net Zero 2040 plan, which remains one of the most ambitious and comprehensive climate plans for a major financial services company.

Today, Sam is Chair of Foundations: the What Works Centre for Children and Families, advising government on effective interventions in policies affecting children (for example children’s social care, family support etc). He has a long history championing causes including Living Wage Foundation, Climate Change, Gender Equality and Social Mobility.

He also acts as a Specialist Partner at the strategic consultancy Flint Global as well as MD of his own advisory business Next Chapter Strategy, working with senior leaders in business, charities and politics. He is on a number of advisory boards, including the Social Market Foundation think tank.

He is married, living in Yorkshire with two daughters. And is proud to have been one of the most senior job-sharing dads in the UK.

GSM Mott was awarded the OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) in The Queen’s Birthday Honors 2007. He was presented with a new insignia or badge of rank reviving the original one made for a select group of Sergeant Majors appointed to the Court of King William IV in the early 19th Century. He was awarded the MVO (Member of the Victorian Order) in the Diamond Jubilee Honors in 2012, for his personal service to HM The Queen, organizing the Armed Forces Parade and Diamond Jubilee. Prior to joining BAE Systems in 2020, Stuart served in the RAF for 35 years.  His career centred on operations both in the cockpit and command, notably in the Balkans, Libya, the Gulf and Afghanistan.  He commanded at squadron, station and group level before serving as the Chief of Staff at the UK Permanent Joint Headquarters, Stuart completed his Service as Deputy Commander of the RAF, a tour dominated by the counter-ISIS campaign in Iraq/Syria and NATO’s response to a resurgent Russia. 

Stuart is an Honorary Professor at the University of Nottingham, lecturing on contemporary air power, and patron of the Jon Egging Trust, a charity that seeks to inspire and develop young people. He is also the RAF Commissioner in the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.  Married with 5 adult children, Stuart lives with his wife and a variable number of children in Teddington London.

Lachlan at only 21 years old, was the first female ever and youngest person to complete this route, and the youngest female to row from any mainland to mainland. On this 97-day expedition Zara faced stormy weather leading to a capsize, a large bite from a suspected barracuda, and regular hallucinations from extreme exhaustion.

This crossing pushed her physically as she rowed 16-21 hours a day but found the mental struggle from being in pure isolation during testing conditions for the first forty days, where the weather was against her for thirty-five of them, a significantly larger challenge.

Adrift after leaving the forces, Fox faced what he describes as his “darkest hour”: a collapsing marriage, toxic relationships, and spiralling suicidal thoughts. “I was a mess,” he recalls. “I’d built this identity as an invincible soldier, but admitting I needed help felt like weakness”[9][18]. His turning point came through therapy and organisations like Rock2Recovery, where he learned to reframe vulnerability as strength. This journey inspired his Sunday Times bestselling memoir *Battle Scars*, a raw account of confronting mental health struggles that resonated far beyond military circles.  

Fox’s second act has seen him become a beacon of hope through television and advocacy. As a lead instructor on Channel 4’s *SAS: Who Dares Wins* since 2015, he tests civilians and celebrities alike with brutal Special Forces training drills, using the show as a platform to discuss emotional resilience. His investigative series *Inside the Real Narcos* further showcased his ability to thrive under pressure, embedding with drug cartels in Latin America[1][4]. Beyond screens, Fox co-founded BreakPoint, a team-building company applying military strategies to corporate challenges, and delivers keynote speeches on leadership and overcoming adversity.  

Now a prominent mental health advocate, Fox emphasises that “PTSD isn’t just a soldier’s struggle – life can traumatise anyone”. Through his 2022 *Life at the Limit* speaking tour and ongoing work, he teaches practical techniques for managing stress: acknowledging fears, creating action plans, and finding purpose through service. From surviving Taliban ambushes to navigating depression’s trenches, Fox’s story proves that even the toughest battles can be won – not through sheer force, but by embracing vulnerability and supporting others on their journeys. As he puts it: “True strength isn’t about being unbreakable. It’s about learning how to rebuild when you do”.

Within the Biathlon World she has competed, coached and managed Teams, including the British Biathlon Team in 2007-2008. She has most recently developed and delivered the first ever Para Nordic Ski Team for Great Britain and ran the Paralympic Inspiration Programme in 2018. She is the Chief Operations Officer for the Armed Forces Para Snowsport Team and hopes to bring all her knowledge, experience and energy to the new role as Secretary General of the British Biathlon Union.

He commanded soldiers at all levels and held a series of increasingly senior staff appointments in the Ministry of Defence, including Assistant Chief of the General Staff, Deputy Chief of Defence Staff (Operations), and Defence Senior Adviser Middle East. Between Command and Staff training periods, he undertook a Defence Fellowship at St Antony’s College, Oxford, and an MA in International Relations at King’s College. He was knighted in 2014 and retired from the Army in 2015.

Since retirement, Mayall has sought to combine his academic enthusiasm for history with his personal and professional experience in the Middle East to develop an experience in this complex and volatile region. As a result, he is regularly called upon for commentary or analysis, using his deep knowledge of history and religion to help listeners and readers better understand current events in the wider Middle East.

In 2020, he published a book, ‘Soldier in the Sand, a Personal History of the Modern Middle East’, which used a three-generational biography of his family to tell the story of the Middle East since the end of World War One. In 2024, he published ‘The House of War, the Struggle between Christendom and the Caliphate’, which examined the 1,300-year confrontation between the Christian and Islamic world through ten great sieges and battles, stretching from the Crusades and earlier to the collapse of the OWoman Empire in 1918.

This book is a prequel to Soldier in the Sand in many ways. Mayall hopes that as ‘Applied History’, it will both interest and educate readers and, once again, give them valuable insights into contemporary events. The original proposal was written with a television series in mind, and Mayall still hopes this epic set of stories, set within a grand, sweeping historical narrative, will make it onto the small screen.

He is planning to write a biography of Field Marshal Sir Nigel Bagnall, who he worked for as ADC and who is viewed as one of the most significant reformers of the British Army in modern times.

Mayall has now contributed twice to the Inspiring Leadership podcast. In his first appearance, his ‘top tip’ for leadership focused on purpose, professionalism in execution, and clarity of communication. For ‘respectable’ historians, in this current era of ‘battling narratives,’ he believes in the critical importance of facts, context, and ‘empathy’.

Neil Basu is a prominent figure in British law enforcement, known for his role as Assistant Commissioner for Specialist Operations at the Metropolitan Police Service, leading the Counter Terrorism Command. With over three decades in the force, Basu has significantly impacted national and international security.

Mike assumed the role of Group MD of Blue Ocean Marine Tech Systems (BO-MTS) in September 2021. BO-MTS is a proudly Western Australian company servicing the offshore energy and defence sectors in Australia and the UK, utilising disruptive persistent uncrewed autonomous underwater vehicles fitted with an array of mission specific sensors.  

Prior to joining BO-MTS, Mike was based in London as the Western Australian Agent General. Mike’s role was to represent Western Australian interests and promote Western Australia, throughout the UK, Europe and Israel, as a great place for investment, trade, research and development, education, training, and tourism. 

Mike had a 32-year naval career including command of three Oberon class submarines and the Fleet Replenishment ship, HMAS Success. His last role in the Royal Australian Navy was as the Commander of the Australian Submarine Group and the Senior Defence Officer in WA. He retired in the rank of Commodore in 2005. 

Awards include the Conspicuous Service Cross, the Australian Service Medal (Special Operations clasp), the Defence Force Service Medal (three bars) and the Australian Defence Medal. He is a Freeman of the City of London.

Sport has always been a key aspect of Justin’s life and it promptly became a lifeline and career. In Wheelchair racing, Justin has won 29 marathon titles across the globe. Justin is also the World and European Champion in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Winning his 2nd World championship this year in Abu Dhabi. In 2022 Justin and a friend completed the 1st non supported crossing of the USA by handbike, towing his wheelchair behind him. The over 3000mile journey was completed in 48 days raising over £200,000 for a disabled children’s charity.

A staunch activist for equality and human rights, Justin works tirelessly to see fair treatment for everyone.

Dr Stephen Barden is a respected strategic, business and operational partner to corporate leaders and their organisations. After decades of experience at CEO and executive board levels across the media, technology, and communications sectors, Dr Barden established a thriving private practice in 2001, working extensively in the UK, Europe, the USA and Asia.

Pat’s outdoor agenda was interrupted in 2018 when he suffered a serious climbing accident, sustained a spinal injury and was diagnosed as an ‘incomplete paraplegic’. At the accident site he was rescued by the Derby Mountain Rescue Team which, although not apparent at the time, was to open another chapter of his life.

In this role, Gustafson is responsible for managing customer and partner relationships,

strategic financial plans, product and technology strategies, sales force strategy and

structure, and P&L ownership within HP’s U.S. Public Sector business. As the leader of

HP Federal LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of HP Inc. he is focused on providing IT

With a 30+ year tenure at HP, Gustafson has held a variety of leadership positions in

Channel Sales, Direct Sales, and ISV Marketing. Most recently, Gustafson took on the role

of Vice President of U.S. End User Sales, which included the Commercial customer

segment. From 2006 to 2012, he was Vice President for the Personal Systems Group

(PSG) Commercial Solutions organization. Prior to that, Gustafson was the Vice

President of U.S. Workstation sales.

Gustafson graduated from Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island. He currently

resides in Massachusetts, where he continues to be an avid road cyclist and remains

actively involved as leader in various community organizations

sector, Daniel is launching new initiatives to help optimise the use of

Born in London in the UK, Daniel has lived in France, Spain, and Italy

before settling in Israel in 1999. Working in television for the Sports Channel offered a broad entry into the industry, and he worked from the ground up through logistics and production to deal with broadcast rights acquisitions.

In 2004, Daniel founded the Sports Data agency that was to become Redwood International Sports. Daniel turned his focus in 2015 to the gaming sector and created brand new platforms for emerging markets, dealing with everything from compliance and regulation to product and IT delivery. As part of this journey, he founded Suntech Innovation in Kyiv, Ukraine, delivering fully customised and turnkey product for the specific market.

Grateful to continue working in an industry he enjoys so much, Daniel is an active investor in the sports sector. In addition to his own angel investing, he is a Venture Partner with Mindspring Capital, sits on the advisory board for Sharp Alpha Fund and is connected with a number of VC funds with a global reach into the Sports Industry. In addition, he works with selected companies as a board member or in an advisory role, to bring value through strategic, operational and business development partnerships.

General David Richards led operations in East Timor, Sierra Leone, and Afghanistan. He is probably best known for his command in Sierra Leone in 2000 when he interpreted his orders creatively to achieve more than was at first thought possible, ensuring the ultimate defeat of the RUF rebels and the avoidance of much bloodshed in the capital Freetown. He went on to command NATO forces in Afghanistan during the Alliance’s expansion of responsibility across the whole country. Having first commanded the British Army, in 2010 he became Chief of the Defence Staff, the professional head of Britain’s armed forces and their strategic commander as well as the Prime Minister’s military adviser and a member of the National Security Council. His UK operational awards include a Mention in Despatches, Commander of the British Empire, Distinguished Service Order and Knight Commander of the Bath; the first officer to receive an operational knighthood since World War 2. In 2011 he received the annual Churchillian Award for leadership. He retired in July 2013.

David was created Baron Richards of Herstmonceux in February 2014 and now sits as a cross-bencher in the House of Lords. Amongst other appointments he is a visiting Professor of Exeter University and an Honorary Fellow of both King’s College London and Cardiff University. Until recently he was Executive Chairman of Equilibrium Global the geo-strategic advisory company. He is actively involved with a number of charities, especially the Royal Commonwealth Ex-Services League of which he is the Grand President. A keen sailor he is a member of the Royal Yacht Squadron, the Royal Cruising Club and the Royal Artillery Yacht Club. His autobiography Taking Command was published in October 2014. His second book, on the death of Grand Strategy, is due to be published in June 2024. He lectures extensively on strategy and leadership. 

Interviewed for Desert Island Discs in 2014 David received widespread praise for saying: “I see myself as a moral soldier. I do not associate the military with wars and bloodshed in the narrow sense. I associate the military with doing good, bringing down tyrants, with releasing people's ambitions for their children." It neatly sums up the moral code he sought to apply to his time as a professional soldier.

Sport has always been a key aspect of Justin's life and it promptly became a lifeline and career. In Wheelchair racing, Justin has won 29 marathon titles across the globe. Justin is also the World and European Champion in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Winning his 2nd World championship this year in Abu Dhabi. In 2022 Justin and a friend completed the 1st non supported crossing of the USA by handbike, towing his wheelchair behind him. The over 3000mile journey was completed in 48 days raising over £200,000 for a disabled children's charity.

A staunch activist for equality and human rights, Justin works tirelessly to see fair treatment for everyone.

A mentor to newly injured civilians and veterans, in 2019 Justin was named in the Top 10 most powerful and influential disabled people in the UK.

In 2010, Hari Budha Magar lost both his legs above the knee, to an IED in Afghanistan.

Determined to change perceptions of what is possible for people with a disability, he reached the summit of Mount Everest around 3pm (Nepal time) on 19th May 2023.

43-year-old Hari Budha Magar has stood victorious atop the world’s tallest mountain as the first ever double above-knee amputee to climb Everest.

In accomplishing this challenge, Hari: 

* has created history and become the world’s first double above-knee amputee to conquer Everest

* is raising awareness of disability globally and changing the narrative surrounding it

* is proof that having a disability does not have to be life limiting

* hopes to inspire people to conquer their own dreams and to lead more fulfilling lives

Through his climb, Hari aims to change perceptions on disability and inspire people to climb their own ‘mountains’ no matter the adversity that stands in their way.

Justin began his career as an environmental scientist. At the age of 22 he started his own environmental consultancy, helping organisations improve their environmental performance and ensuring regulatory compliance. He joined the Norse Group in 2006 to help manage environmental performance regarding waste management and landfill operations. Following a period working on a waste treatment PFI project he began to move through the wider Group, changing roles every few years to broaden and develop his knowledge and management skills. 

At the age of 30 he undertook a part-time MBA whilst moving in to more senior management roles. Having run the Group’s facilities management company as Chief Operating Officer for several years, he was appointed CEO of the Norse Group in May 2022. Justin remains committed to improving the environmental performance of organisations and has led the formation of the Norse Group’s “Net Zero” strategy as part of a wider ESG strategy. 

Justin is also a Director of Norfolk ProHelp – a Community Interest Company which supports not-for profit organisations, and is also Chair of HMP Wayland’s Employment Advisory Board – helping ex- offenders find work and settle back into life upon release from prison.

He survived and led others through at-sea fires, floods and explosions, and passed the most demanding military command course in the world, Perisher. Peter commanded the longest deployment ever conducted by an Australian submarine and led the Arm through an unprecedented period of expansion. In all, he served in ten submarines and twenty different command and leadership appointments over thirty-four years. A veteran of multiple Special Operations with the Submarine Arm, he also saw war service in Iraq, the Persian Gulf and Afghanistan during 2006 and 2007.

He was awarded a Commendation for Distinguished Service in the Australia Day Honours List 2008, having previously been decorated with the Conspicuous Service Cross for achievements in command of HMAS Collins. Peter holds a Master’s degree in Coaching Psychology from the University of Sydney and now works as an executive coach to help leaders develop, perform and succeed. He has recently authored a memoir, published by Fremantle Press, on his naval and submarine service - ‘Running Deep. An Australian Submarine Life.’

When not writing or coaching, Peter can be found on the trails running ultra-marathons or relaxing at home with his family.

His unique near death experience, return to work and return to military operations is an inspirational snapshot of personal determination, leadership and a humble understanding of mental health. Nick’s talks are inspirational, insightful and are based on real experiences. 

Following a life-threatening injury sustained on the battlefield in Afghanistan – which left him fighting for his life in a month long coma, Nick was determined to recover and return to work. On his road to recovery, he became aware of his trauma experiences and how they impacted many other people – as a result Nick understands intimately how actions impact people both in and out of the workplace. With strong mental resilience, Nick returned to combat operations in Afghanistan, where he once again led men and women through some of the toughest times of their lives.

Following a medical discharge from the Armed Forces in 2018, Nick now reflects on his past, linking childhood adversity to the successes he has had both in and out of service life. He discusses growing up with dyslexia and the effects of the debilitating illness M.E. (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis). These experiences and those gained from his time in the British Army have given Nick a unique insight into achieving success by leading through adversity.

Milburn was born in Hong Kong and grew up in the United Kingdom where he attended St Paul’s School, University College London. 

After university he enlisted in the US Marine Corps as a private. He was subsequently commissioned from the ranks, and as a Marine infantry and special operations officer, has commanded in combat at every grade. As the commanding officer of the Marine Corps’ special operations regiment, he was selected to lead a multinational task force given the mission of defeating ISIS in Iraq. 

He transitioned in 2019 as the chief of staff of Special Operations Command Central, the headquarters responsible for the conduct of all US special operations throughout the Middle East. Since retiring, he has written a critically acclaimed memoir When the Tempest Gathers, and a number of articles for national publications. He is on the adjunct faculty of the Joint Special Operations University, and teaches classes on leadership and ethics to mid-grade and senior officers at US, British and Canadian military schools. He also teaches courses overseas to officers from countries across Africa, the Middle East and Asia. He participates regularly in debates and forums concerning ethics, modern warfare and leadership. 

Most recently he was the CEO of the Mozart Group, a crowd sourced, donor funded private military organization operating in Ukraine. The Mozart Group’s mission was to provide front line training for Ukrainian soldiers and to evacuate civilians from areas under Russian bombardment.

Self-reflection is key to good leadership. That means taking a moment, regularly, to assess yourself – your motives, your actions, and their effect -- to view your decisions from the perspective of those who must execute them. You need to make this a habit, without succumbing to paralysis. I tell newly commissioned officers that good leadership is a lifelong journey – and all of us, from the newly minted second lieutenant to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs – are perennial students. If you don’t have that mindset, then you can’t grow as a leader, and will ultimately fail.

Despite a long period of isolation and bullying by his peers, he became a full member of the Parachute Regiment in 1974 and served three tours of Northern Ireland. In 1978 he volunteered for SAS selection and passed on his second attempt in March 1979. He went on to qualify as a Paramedic and Sniper.

He was a member of the SAS counter terrorist team that assaulted the Iranian Embassy in London in 1980, helping to rescue the nineteen hostages who had been held for six days.

Robin has had an extraordinary life and has been speaking about it at events both small and large for over 10 years.

Alice has had a wide-ranging career. It began in the IT industry working in a range of roles in software development and localisation where she developed her approach to dovetailing outcomes between different stakeholders including customers and staff to get great results.

In 1991, she took a year out at Ashridge Management College to do an MBA. On completion she set up a company with her sister, using her business skills, and her sister’s legal background and understanding of disability equality issues. She spent six years as a consultant before taking up a role in the rail industry with a brief to create a national accessibility strategy for stations.

Following the stint in the rail industry, she founded her own business, Future Inclusion, to help leaders improve organisation performance through inclusive practice. Alice now has a portfolio of non-executive roles and is an executive coach/mentor. Through Future Inclusion, she also advises businesses on EDI.

Alice is non-executive career began in the nonprofit sector in the late 90s. Initially with local organisations, but later on a national scale, she was a trustee and chairman of a number of charities, including latterly Scope (2008-2014), the disability charity, and Swanswell, a drug and alcohol addiction charity, successfully merging Swanswell with Cranstoun in 2016.

Her nonprofit experience led her to join third sector colleagues in establishing the Association of Chairs, to improve performance through better chairing. In 2014 Alice won a Sunday Times Non-Executive Director of the Year award and received an honorary doctorate from the University of York. She received a CBE in the 2015 New Year Honours.

She currently sits as NED for the Financial Conduct Authority and chairs the People Committee. She is Chair of Council and Pro-Chancellor at the University of York. She is a member of the Government Commercial Office Remuneration Committee, and stood down from HMRC, where she chaired the People Committee, in 2022, and was a Board member of Transport for London until 2021.

Alice likes to work with organisations that are clear about the value they want to add to society, as well as focussing on their own success. She helps organisations increase their understanding of, and engagement with, their people in order to remove barriers in the way of fun, purposeful and rewarding work. She loves thinking about systems, the consequences of even small changes, and how we, as leaders, can best intervene to create change for social good.

Andy Wood is Chief Executive of Adnams plc. He joined Adnams in 1994, joined the Board in 2000 as Sales and Marketing Director becoming Managing Director in 2006 and Chief Executive in 2010.

He has a DBA from Cranfield University and Honorary doctorates; in Business from Anglia Ruskin University, in Science from Cranfield University and Civil Law from the University of East Anglia. He was also awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2013 and between 2014 to 2016 was HRH The Prince of Wales’ Ambassador for Responsible business in the East of England. Andy is Chair of Norse Group Ltd a large FM company and is a Non-Executive Director of companies operating in the retail and financial services sectors. He is also a member of the Council at the University of East Anglia, Governor of Norwich School, a Board Member to the VisitEngland Advisory Board and Chairman of Visit East of England.

In a military career that saw him shift from being on Quick Reaction Alert as a 21 year old in the Cold War with an atomic bomb on the bottom of his Jaguar, through serving on a German squadron as an exchange pilot when the Berlin wall fell, to being the Director of Joint Warfare in his final role, Bob saw a vast amount of change in the RAF and across the world more generally. He flew 120 operational missions over Iraq and Bosnia-Herzegovina, served in the Pentagon as the Chief of Defence Staff’s Liaison Officer, commanded the NATO airbase in Kandahar (25,000 people from more than 20 nations, 170 aircraft and lots of hostile incoming rockets!), and led the MOD support to the London Olympic & Paralympic Games in 2012.

Beyond the military, Bob has built a very successful second career in the private sector. Having initially moved to Deloitte as a director in their resilience and crisis management business, he set up his own consulting and leadership development business in 2019.

A qualified coach and neuro-linguistic programming practitioner, Bob now focuses mostly on leadership development for private sector clients and, with his Leading 4 Life brand, he runs workshops, facilitates training courses, and coaches individual senior leaders across a range of industries. His recently launched podcast, Leading 4 Life “Stories”, provides a source of leadership tips and experiences from Bob and his guests.

Bob went to school at Christ’s Hospital, Horsham and has never forgotten the great start in life that the school gave him. For the past 8 years (he finished in July), he has been a non-executive director on the Christ’s Hospital Council, which looks after not only the school but also the multi-million £ charitable endowment that enabled them to fund £21 million in bursaries last year, more than 3 times the amount of the next nearest school.

Away from the world of work, Bob lives in East Sussex with his wife Saab and their 2 dogs (Shadow & Skye). He is a keen motorcyclist, having taken up riding after leaving the RAF to provide an adrenaline replacement! He also enjoys skiing, scuba diving (especially with sharks) and the occasional round of not very good golf!

Bob’s top leadership tip is for leaders to remember that they have 2 ears and one mouth and that they should use them in proportion! Too many leaders talk much more than they listen and, consequently, they too often fail to capitalise on much of the value that they could derive from those around them.

Since then, he has dedicated his career to enabling leadership at every level through consulting, facilitation, training and coaching. He encourages people to think and respond through the lens of self, others and the system, proactively and consciously choosing where their focus should be. This is achieved by creating clear goals alongside simple habits and routines that enable consistency between a person, team or organisation’s inner and outer games.

This experience includes 14 years as CEO of LIW, expanding the organisation from start up to global leadership consultancy, preceded by 14 years as an officer in the Royal Marines Commandos. More recently he spent 3 years as a Partner with Denali Venture Partners and he now operates as an associate and investor to his previous organisations, as well as an independent consultant to a small number of other purposeful organisations across sectors and throughout the world. 

He is motivated by organisations that have a positive impact and has recently concentrated on working with the UN World Food Program across Africa and the Middle East including working with leadership teams and operational leaders in Yemen, Iraq, Sudan, Syria and Somalia. He also works with the Kids Cancer Project in Australia who are dedicated to saving childrens’ lives though investment in cancer research.

Rob and his team held the world building abseil record in 1992 for scaling to, and abseiling from, the upper deck of the CN Tower in Toronto, alongside a team from the Canadian School of Rescue Training. He was also “Mentioned in Dispatches” during his service, acknowledging that this was due to the efforts of the leaders and the people he had the good fortune to command.

Rob sees how neuroscience is proving what was previously only a belief about good leadership practice. Many of his top tips are based on this truth. His top tip for your reflection is to “do whatever you want but know what you are doing”. He picked this quote up from someone else and has since observed that it is often not the case!

Stuart joined Barclays later that year, where he spent a decade holding MD global leadership positions, which included heading the bank’s security and global travel departments, as well as running a retail banking customer initiative. During this period, he specialised in building a global team and delivering strategic change programmes across six different business units spanning fifty-five countries. He also played a key role in numerous crisis management situations, including leading the bank’s response to the Arab Spring in Egypt in 2011. While at Barclays, he founded and ran the AFTER ex-military employment programme, which hired 650 former service personnel into Barclays. Stuart also founded the Parachute Regiment Afghanistan Trust charity, as CEO and chairman, which raised £3.7M for wounded soldiers.

In 2019, Stuart set up Matero Consulting as a founding partner. Establishing a new approach to change management, based on providing clients with disciplined critical thinking decision-making, agile planning, and empowerment execution tools and skills. Matero’s clients have included HSBC, LSEG, Centrica, One Technology, and Metro Bank, as well as a number of startup companies. Typical projects have centred on supporting the design, build, and delivery of major change initiatives where servant leadership development, creating a team culture of accountability, and harnessing diversity to resolve complex issues has been key.

Over a fifteen-year period, Stuart has been engaged by over fifty FTSE and Fortune companies on the subject of speaking about empowered leadership and creating a mission purposed culture. Clients have included RBS, Kraft, the Daily Mail group, Babcock, Invesco, Virgin Atlantic, Accenture, Fidelity, and Grant Thornton. Stuart is a history graduate of London and Cambridge universities and part-time author. His first book, Danger Close – Leading 3 PARA in Afghanistan became a Sunday Times best seller and his fourth book, about the SAS in the Falklands War, entered the Sunday Times best seller list in 2022. In 1978 he passed SAS Selection and was employed in Mountain Troop in D Sqn. He served all over the world and took part in the Falklands War where he took part in the liberation of South Geor gia, the raid on the airfield on Pebble Island and the taking of Mount Kent.

Later he was employed as the senior instructor at the International Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol School in Germany. Following this he was instrumental in the formation of the Light Recce Commanders Course at the School of Infantry. A tour as the RSM of the British Military Parachute School followed. His final job in the army was as the Divisional Sergeant Major assisting in running Company Commanders Courses at the Land Warfare School.

On retiring from uniformed service he was employed as a civil servant working with the Infantry Trials and Development Unit delivering Urgent Operational Requirements for ongoing operations.

Since retiring in 2013 he spends his time walking ‘Wilf’, his Border Terrier, cycling, training for and running ultra marathons. He has co-written a book with Col Stuart Tootal about his experiences during the Falklands War –‘ SAS – SEA KING DOWN’

With nearly 25 years’ experience in the industry, Chris is the General Manager for Unilever’s Personal Care business in the UK&I, and VP for Deodorants Europe. He was also recently appointed as Deputy chair for the industry body the Cosmetics, Toiletries and Perfumeries Association.

Chris started his career with L’Oréal on their management trainee scheme, before working both in their marketing team in London, and the International Development team based in the company's global headquarters in Paris. He first joined Unilever in 2006 and has since then worked in London, Chicago, and New Jersey on many of Unilever’s biggest brands. Since 2017 he has been on the UK&I leadership team and is currently General Manager of the Personal Care business unit. He is also charged with running the program for the Deodorants business across Europe, Australia & NZ, leading the cross functional team for this €1bn business.

Chris has significant experience in working on purposeful brands. He has worked hard to pioneer a number of initiatives on Hygiene Poverty, to address the fact that almost half of low-income households have had to go without hygiene products because they can no longer afford them. This has seen more than one million products donated to charity partner In Kind Direct over the last year, and he is now working on scaling the initiative across the industry. Most recently, on Unilever’s Dove brand, he has been involved in launching Cost of beauty: A Dove film which invites people to join us on our mission to make social media a more positive place for young people.

Chris is married to Lizzie and has two daughters, Alice and Lottie. He is a big rugby and cricket fan, but the Chicago Cubs will always have a place in his heart.

Chris’s top leadership tips are firstly, to ‘make it personal’ with people by connecting with his team and broader stakeholders in a personable, authentic way. Secondly, his work during the pandemic as one of the leading manufacturers of soap and hygiene products in the UK&I informs his tip to wash your hands - more often than you think you need to and for longer. This is a habit from the pandemic we must keep, which would help to reduce the burden on the NHS by keeping us healthier and avoiding respiratory diseases.

Ask questions - Asking questions is a great way to get the most out of our lives and businesses. It encourages us to learn and share our thoughts, which helps build trust, encourages new ideas, and improves performance.

From a leadership perspective asking questions also encourages others to participate in problem-solving and to take ownership of their own ideas. As a leader, it is important to be curious and open to new ideas. It is through asking questions that leaders can gain insight into what is important to their employees and gain a better understanding of what’s happening on the ground.

Mike Manazir served 36 years in the U.S. Navy and retired in 2017 as a Rear Admiral (Upper Half). As a naval aviator, Mike was qualified in the F-14 and the F-18 aircraft, flying 3750 fighter hours and conducting 1240 arrested landings during fifteen overseas deployments aboard aircraft carriers. A graduate of TOPGUN, Mike commanded a fighter squadron, two ships including the aircraft carrier USS NIMITZ, and a carrier strike group. Mike also completed five tours in the Pentagon. 

Following retirement from the Navy, Mike accepted a position with The Boeing Company where he conducts liaison between the U.S. Navy and Boeing.

Mike has been married to Kelly for 41 years. They have two grown children.

Mike has published Learn How to Lead to Win; 33 Powerful Stories and Leadership Lessons in which he describes his own leadership journey through his Navy experience. You must let them know that you allow failure as long as we all learn from the failure. You must let them know that the team thrives through the contributions of each team member as a whole. You want them to know it is okay to assume risk and to always strive to gain better results. If you lead with your title, your team will not take risk, they will not attempt to fail and learn. In short, they will not be invested in constant improvement and greater success. Your heart to heart connection with each member will accelerate results. Nirvana for top team performance is when you don’t want to disappoint them…and they don’t want to disappoint you.

An unusual mix of experience, Et has bounced between back and front office throughout his career responding to whatever the the organization needed as it moved through its start up phase. He graduated from London South Bank with a degree in industrial design before falling into the recruitment industry in a post credit crunch world. Starting out as a junior headhunter he quickly moved into a managerial role growing and leading high performing teams that enabled organizational growth. In 2012, at the age of 25, Et moved to New York to set up the organization in the American markets. As the business grew so too did Et’s remit, moving from management to executive leadership and eventually in 2018 to the Chief Commercial Officer role that pinpointed his key skill set – operationalizing business initiatives. In 2021 he was asked to move into the COO role focusing on the development of the groups corporate services functions.

But Et sticks firmly to the fact that turning idea into reality is not his passion. An avid reader he created the Future Managers and Leaders training course for Search Capitla which pulls together the knowledge of hundred of business and psychology writers to develop management expertise across the group. When not in the office you’ll find him pursuing one of his endless hobbies (much to his wifes frustration) from fishing, and shooting to wood working and tennis. Most frequently you’ll find him playing with his growing family on his farm in Massachusetts.

In recognition of his passion for and commitment to creating diverse workforces and inclusive cultures Kevin was recognised in HR Magazine's Most Influential UK HR Practitioners 2022. He was also included as one of 35 Advocate Executives in the INvolve Heroes Women Role Model 2021 & 2022 lists and as a Top 50 Ally Executive in the Outstanding LGBT+ Role Models list 2022. From 2020 to 2022 Kevin served as a Steering Group member for the government-sponsored Hampton Alexander/FTSE Women Leaders Review.

Kevin holds an honours degree in Politics from the University of York and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. He lives in Ealing with his second wife Shami and has two adult children from his first marriage. He is a proud Geordie having been born and brought up on the coast in Whitley Bay and is a life long supporter of Newcastle United. Kevin’s top leadership tip is to build a diverse team of differing personalities, talents and aspirations. Leading that team will be more challenging but the diversity of thought that it brings and the different abilities each individual offers will lead to superior results. Support and encourage them. Listen to all voices. Include everyone. Recognise their achievements publicly and share your feedback privately. Stretch them with new and exciting work but do not overwhelm them. UK, age 19, unemployed and a street artists and former graphic design student. James and his partner Simon Needham applied for a financial grant from his Royal Highness, Prince Charles' youth charity, UK in 1986. They received £2,000 seed funding to start their design company and bought a first generation Apple Mac. Twenty five years later ATTIK grew to have offices in Leeds, London, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Sydney and over 250 staff. ATTIK was acquired by Dentsu, Japan in 2007 in a multi-million deal. James then served in a creative leadership role at Dentsu before departing to go brand side.

In 2018, James Sommerville departed his Coke VP role after realizing the creative industry was not evolving with the needs of a client. Leveraging KnownUnknown community, he recently executed brand work for Ford, Google, HP and General Mills while connecting them to some of the highest creative talent in the world and is launching a beta AI tool for Graphic and Brand Designers.

Dr Michael Welch OBE founded Blackcircles.com, the world’s first click-to-fit online tyre retailer in 2002, selling the business to Michelin in 2015. 

Prior to Blackcircles.com, Michael started his career in the tyre business aged 15 in Liverpool, England, as a tyre installer with a local independent tyre dealer. He started his first online tyre business two years later, in 1995, after being made redundant. He subsequently sold that business to UK fast-fit chain Kwik Fit, where he was hired as the group’s first head of e-commerce in the lead-up to Ford’s £1 billion acquisition in 1999. In this role, he spent a few years between the UK and the US assisting the Ford group with their e-commerce execution.

In 2016, during a brief period out of the tyre industry, he founded and chaired fashion retail startup Atterley.com, a global network of fashion boutiques. 

In 2019, Michael turned his attention to the US tyre market with his new venture, Tirescanner.com. The website serves as a platform for brick-and-mortar tyre retailers who are looking to compete with pure players for a share of the US online market. With an initial launch in Florida in 2019, Tirescanner.com has gone on to build a national network showcasing the very best of brick-and-mortar retail stores and mobile installation vans across the United States. The US tyre replacement market was valued at $42bn (USD) in 2019.

In 2021, Tirescanner merged with Tirebuyer.com to create one of America’s largest online tyre retailers, with over 11,000 installers across the USA. Bringing Tirescanner’s strategy and expertise together with TireBuyer’s scale, the aim of the merger is to create the country’s leading online tyre experience.

Michael established The Welch Trust in 2015 focusing on supporting children and young people in need of adoption and fostering, as a fostered and adopted person himself, as well as kids with critical and terminal illnesses. The Trust recently built its first ‘The Welch Learning Centre’, a school computer and library service for children in Bali, Indonesia. In May 2021, The Welch Trust partnered with the Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity and NHS Lothian to bring MRI-guided Laser Interstitial Thermal Therapy (LITT) to Edinburgh’s Royal Hospital for Children and Young People (RHCYP). This was the first time this laser technology was made available in Scotland. Michael also sits on the board and is a Patron of The Prince’s Trust, the principal charity of HM the King. 

Michael was awarded an OBE (Officer of the British Empire) by the HM Queen Elizabeth ll in 2016 for services to business and charity. He also received an honorary doctorate in Enterprise from Edinburgh’s Napier University.

She spent six months as Superintendent Amanda Prosser in the Bill, was murdered twice in Midsomer Murders and kissed Pierce Brosnan in an Aston Martin in Goldeneye. Other skills

For the Hoffman Process, Serena coach all our teachers in voice and breath work. She gave them tips on how to monitor their energy and use the appropriate performance levels to engage an audience over a long period of time. She also uses role-play to help them with their one-to-one skills, building trust, rapport and create a safe place for our clients to do their work.

She hosts regular monthly talks in London and also facilitate all support groups for our Hoffman participants. She has held talks and co-facilitated courses in Ireland, South Africa, Dubai, Bahrain, Abu Dhabi and Amsterdam. I wrote and co-facilitated a Hoffman workshop specifically for teenagers that we launched at Bedales school in 2013 and hope to include in University programmes.

As the face (and voice) of Hoffman UK, I engage with our social media on a daily basis. I inaugurated the Hoffman magazine and edited the first three issues. A few years ago, she designed the Hoffman App and co-wrote and published a Hoffman 365 day journal. She is currently upgrading her website, work which should be completed this year. In the past year, she has been working with a business consultant on the plan for Hoffman to transition to a not-for-profit organisation and ultimately a charity.

Over nearly four decades of work and lived experiences, he has studied, observed, led, suffered, been mentored, and gained much from simply observing and learning from both amazing, and unfortunately, appalling leaders. 

His leadership journey began quite by accident at 19 at the Britannia Royal Naval College, Dartmouth, undoubtedly one of the finest leadership training institutions in the world. Over a year, his first conceptions of leadership were uprooted against the time-honoured traditions of the seafarer. For good reason, as the sea has always been and remains a harsh punisher of poor leadership and judgement. He went on to gain his sea legs working with ship-crews, and leading small numbers of highly capable and well-trained men and women. During his time in the Navy he also lived in Sweden, Australia and the United States, training with other navy men and women, and in the process learning how others chose to lead. He capped 19 years in the Navy in Singapore with two consecutive warship commands over six years, a 45-meter minehunter with 38-crew, and a 150-meter landing ship tank with 120 crew. 

Leaving the Navy after successful command at sea as the pioneer crew of the Landing Ship Tank was a forced choice. Karuna chose to prioritise his life at that stage to be a father to his two children, and a better version of himself to his wife, who had earlier already given up her career to stay home with the young son and daughter. Leaders make choices, and commit to those choices, and often find themselves in difficult trade-offs.

Karuna again found himself another accidental opportunity in the newly created military leadership centre, where he spent a decade as part of the pioneer team to transform military culture through the development of leaders and values work. He successfully retired after three decades in the military, and went on to work for three years as the Singapore Government’s Senior Organisational Development Consultant. His work with Brunei Government leaders was acknowledged by the World Bank in 2016.

Over the past 6 years, Karuna has coached and worked closely with Senior Leaders, organisational leadership teams, and middle managers to help them grow into the leaders they need to be. His success rate at supporting organisational transformation is evident from repeat client requests for his support.

Karuna is a firm believer in RESPECT as the Core Value for Organisational Leaders. Respect underpins Empathy as a Leadership Practice, and when leaders began to empathise well, they might be described as humble, and demonstrating Humility. Respect is also key to Diversity and Inclusion, and a powerful anchor to much needed people and culture work.

Dame Sara completed a three-year term as the UK Independent Anti-Slavery Commissioner in April 2022, a role in which she spearheaded the UK’s fight against human trafficking and modern slavery. She joined the Metropolitan Police Service in 1986. During her 33-year career within policing she served as Chief Constable of Thames Valley Police from 2007 until 2015. She was the national lead on intelligence; Vice-Chair of ACPO Terrorism and Allied Matters; Director of the Police National Assessment Centre; and ACPO Vice-President. She was the first Chair of the National Police Chiefs’ Council from 2015 to 2019. She was awarded the Queen’s Police Medal in 2006, made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2011 and a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2019. She has been recognised with a Career Achievement Award from the Police Training Authority Trustees and the Sir Robert Peel Medal for Outstanding Leadership in Evidence-Based Policing. She is an Honorary Air Commodore in the Royal Air Force supporting the work of the auxiliary police squadron, Chair of the Government Skills and Curriculum Unit Leadership Advisory Board, and a trustee and board member of the Police Foundation.

She is an Honorary Professor in Modern Slavery at the University of Liverpool and holds honorary doctorates from Durham University, Oxford Brookes and Buckinghamshire New University.

Dame Sara’s top tip is to eat the frog for breakfast - get the nasty things over and done with. It is always tempting to procrastinate, to delay tough decisions, but that only leads to worry.

A leader needs to be thinking clearly and not weighed down by worrying about things that they should have done.

MQ was the first topic we discussed, specifically what people do when they know they are operating in grey areas, such as in the PPI mis-selling scandal when they knew it was wrong. We also explored how missing components of Inspiring Leadership can cause a person to "disintegrate" rather than being fully integrated. When MQ goes wrong, things can become very toxic very quickly. We gave acknowledgement to Andrew Griffiths for highlighting "leadership myths" that people believe to be true but are actually false.

HQ is a key component, particularly the foundation of sleep, movement, and fitness, as well as looking after emotions and their combination with RQ resilience. Overdoing resilience can deplete one's reserves, make them difficult, snappy, and poor at decision making. We also discussed Graham's move from Singapore to Japan, remote working, and bullying, including the British Deputy Prime Minister, Dominic Raab being moved from his post.

A big topic close to Graham's heart is AI, as he studied it at university. We concluded that we still need human input and emotions in some key areas. Finally, we discussed the key elements of discipline, trust, and attitude.

The School for CEOs is a boutique executive education business which runs development programmes for aspiring business leaders, taught by an experienced faculty of current and recent CEOs, Chairmen and Non-executive Directors. They are also heavily involved in Inclusive Leadership, supporting leaders with their ED&I agendas.

Prior to becoming an Executive Coach, David spent 11 years working for United Distillers and Diageo in global operations where he was ultimately responsible for the procurement of commodities and neutral spirit across the globe.

Outside of work, he played international rugby for Scotland from 1986 to 1992 and was captain 25 times, a record which stood for over 25 years and included the famous victory over England in 1990 to win Scotland’s third Grand Slam. He also played for the British Lions in 1989 and the Barbarians. He was awarded an OBE for services to rugby football in 1993.

David is currently Chair of Worldwide Cancer Research, where he has been a trustee since 2017. He was also Chair of AM Bid Services until 2020. He served on the Board of sportscotland for 8 years as well as the Board of Quality Meat Scotland. In the past he has been one of three external trustees of the HBOS Foundation, a trustee of the charity Missing People, Chairman of the Board of Governors of Cargilfield School, he has chaired committees of the Prince’s Trust – Action and has been a non- executive director of the Kilchoman Distillery Company.

David has a number of other interests outside of work and was a Roving Brand Ambassador for The Balvenie Malt Whisky for over 12 years – something he describes as a labour of love. He is also a keen amateur photographer; beekeeper and smallholder but he especially enjoys watching his four children play sport.

He has worked extensively with the media and has regularly written newspaper columns for both daily and Sunday papers; he has worked with the BBC, ITV, Sky and Eurosport, commentating on 4 Rugby World Cups and is an accomplished keynote speaker.

His career highlights include planning and conducting the amphibious assault into the Al Faw in Iraq in 2003 and the recent 20th anniversary saw him join with over 200 veterans from 40 Commando Royal Marines to remember the fallen and share tales.

He commanded an Australian Joint Task Group of four warships around the south-west Pacific in 2018 for which he was awarded an ADF Gold Commendation. He uses his experience of leading and commanding on operations in the past to support the development of leaders today.

His immersion in inclusivity and diversity through the Australia Human Rights Commission and work with the Navy Women’s Mentor Programme give him a unique insight into the challenges of working and leading in a multi-cultural workforce which is evolving its approach to the role of women in uniform.

He has supported NSW as a Civil-Military-Police Advisor during the Bushfires and when Covid-19 gripped the nation in March 2020, he was seconded to the Department of Veterans Affairs, where he led the crisis and contingency planning for three months whilst coaching and mentoring senior leadership.

Jim lives a full life. He sources military folk that would benefit from the great work of Remount, an equine therapy charity that puts PTSD sufferers on horseback. He is Vice-President of his local Business Chamber and is a regular at ParkRun both as a runner and volunteer.

He gets great satisfaction from carving spoons from fallen wood and regularly has a stall at local markets where he demonstrates how to carve spoons and sells his products with his wife of over 40 years, Sally. They live on a 5-acre property in Yass, NSW, Australia, and Jim enjoys the combination of supporting others through coaching and sharing his love working wood. They have great friends in the local community and most look forward to seeing their son Ewan (36) who currently lives and works in the snow fields of Hokkaido, Japan.

Christian’s unconventional journey to the highest level of two sports has not been without significant challenges. He was never a part of the traditional academy pipeline to the professional ranks or selected to play representative youth rugby. Christian was a self-taught rarity who got his chance in his third year of study at Loughborough University. An unexpected phone call to play for the Worcester Warriors reserve team in a one-off fixture finally gave him the chance he deserved. The club would go on to sign him to his first professional contract in the changing room before running out and scoring on his 1st XV debut. Christian took his chance and never looked back.

A near career-ending injury kept Christian out of rugby for almost two years. During a gruelling rehabilitation process, Christian was able to develop his mind while his body was recovering. Using the time to go back to university and study for a master’s degree in International Business. 

In 2018 Christian took a leap of faith and decided to walk away from rugby and pursue a career in the NFL. Moving to America to chase a dream in a sport he had never played, deciding to seek opportunity over security.

Christian is now a member of the RFU Judicial Panel dealing with Disciplinary and Discrimination matters. Christian is a Broadcaster for talkSPORT & the BBC, Ambassador for the NFL, and a future Barrister. Christian has a deep commitment to social mobility through the combination of sport and education. Christian acts as a mentor for young people in underserved communities and shares his living testimony that when the dream is big enough, the odds don’t matter. 

Channelling his competitive spirit and elite drive to his pursuits off of the field, Christian will be called to the Bar of England and Wales in the summer of 2023.

Prior to OFC, Jordan propelled the marketing efforts of several iconic companies during a span of 17 years. As Senior Vice President of Integrated Marketing at MTV, Jordan led the strategic development and execution of advertiser integrations for the storied channel. He pioneered the development and marketing of new mobile entertainment and advertising offerings reaching 150 million customers as Vice President of Media Innovation at AT&T.
