This week I am joined by the brilliant activist Zan Moon. Zan runs ‘defend her’, which is a campaign to end violence against women by sharing knowledge on self-defence and the campaign strives for legislative change within the school curriculum.

This week, I am so excited to be joined by the brilliant Becca Caddy, who is a freelance writer who specialises in consumer technology, popular science and the future. Becca’s written a fantastic book called ‘Screen Time’ Your Phone, Your Rules: How to set them, and how to keep them. Our discussion touches on some of the central themes in the book and Becca teaches me how to set healthier boundaries with our smartphones. I learn about the world 'addiction' in context of phone usage, the physiological factors which maintain our tech use and reliance, boredom, manipulation, algorithms, tech manners, work/life tech balance and LOTS more. <itunes:summary>
I adored and learned so much from Becca, so I really hope you enjoy listening!

Click here to purchase your own copy of Screen Time (You won't regret it, trust me!)

Hosted and Produced by - Katie Kohn

Guest - Becca Caddy. He’s published a book called The Advanced Rhyming Dictionary (so "buy his fucking book" yeah?) and has also started a podcast called Something About Rhyme. I've got him onto EduKATE to chat to me all about the rap battling scene and discover all about Multisyllabic rhyme - and it's pretty darn fascinating!

Back in November, Bronte and I recorded my first ever episode of EduKATE, and we couldn't have predicted that our conversation back then is more relevant now than ever. In a world where our physical (and mental) health is being discussed globally, Bronte and I discuss what it means to have your health taken away from you and the lasting implications that meningitis has had on her body. I learn about Bronte's story of contracting the disease and how she dealt with the gruelling process.
