From renting a chair in his local barbers to building an empire boasting celebrity clients such as Anthony Joshua, Lebron James, and Tinie Tempah, today the Slider Cuts brand is a household name amongst the Black community. An exceptional business man and a grafter at heart, I loved hearing Mark’s story of seizing opportunities and the importance of the barber shop in Black culture.

Today we’re talking to social entrepreneur, youth coach and founder of Aviard Inspires, Amani Simpson. At the age of 21, Amani was a victim of knife crime, where he was stabbed 7 times outside a nightclub. The young entrepreneur has since overcome adversity and channeled his energy into educating and inspiring the youth of today on the importance of long-term thinking and fulfilling your potential. It was a pleasure to speak to Amani about his take on the knife crime epidemic in the UK, and what we can do to support and inspire the next generation.

He has broken the world record 13 times and currently holds 3 world records, he is still only 25 years old.
