In this episode, Alex invites award-winning producer Tarek Musa (aka Dead Nature) onto the show, whose credits include Dream Nails, Kagoule, Flyte, Spring King, Circa Waves and The Big Moon. They talk about how ghosts are often associated with particular spaces, places and objects - sometimes with those places and objects that are most familiar and dear to us. They reflect upon the role that those spaces, places, and objects play in the creative process. Drawing on these themes, Alex showcases his 'ghosted' version of the Holy '57 song 'The Big Sleep'.

They talk about how themes of ghostliness and memory have often gone hand in hand across the arts, from music to film to literature. Alex explains how memory influenced the latest Holy '57 single 'Hyper-real' before showcasing his 'ghosted' version of the song.

Join producer-songwriter Holy '57 (Alex) for "Spectres", an atmospheric deep dive into the 'ghostliness' of music production and songwriting set to a soundtrack of evolving, experimental soundscapes. Over the course of the series, Alex shares how ghosts inspired his upcoming mini album, "Y", exploring everything from the 'ghosts' in technology, being a 'ghost' of a former self, to seeing apparitions of loved ones in our dreams. We'll talk about how ghosts are all around us - in our histories, economies, personal lives, and in our memories.

In each episode, Alex experiments with production techniques to draw out 'ghosted' versions of his songs. What does it mean to turn a song into a ghost of its former self? What does that sound like? And how does it makes us feel? Listeners will also have the opportunity to send it their own voice-notes in which they share what 'ghostliness' means to them, which Alex will add sound to and turn into abstract, ghostly, think pieces.
