"Fixing" Our Willpower, #34

I can't count the amount of times I have made a vow to myself like this and failed at accomplishing it...1. This is the last sweet I am having for a MONTH!2. Taking the next 3 weeks off from drinking for sure3. Definitely adding 10 minutes of meditation to my routine every day4. OK, I am going to stop scrolling through Instagram's feed all the time...starting tomorrow5. Going to work on that hobby/project every day for an hour to improve at it!6. I am addicted to caffeine, I don't need it and I am taking the rest of the year off from it!In the moment these come from true sources of inspiration and motivation, yet once that feeling inevitably fades away, what are we left to do? We fall back into our old habits. Another pint of ice cream down, another day where we never found the time to read that book or forgot to go for that run...all of a sudden a year is behind us and we are no closer to creating the best version of ourselves in the way we want. That is the bad news.The good news is that everybody except for Elon Musk and Kevin Hart are doing the same fucking thing. My curiosity was becoming as hard to contain as my libido around this girl so I asked if she would come on the show to talk about the lifestyle of a married, bisexual, polyamorous woman.A few weeks before I took off from Southern Arizona to travel around the West, we met up at a hotel in Tucson to hang out one more time. After eating some chinese food delivery and whiskey, we sat down and got into the nitty gritty of how these types of relationships work.

Some say that he is objectifying the women with his act, especially the part where he dumps champagne and milk on them to invoke images of cum in porn. His brand of partying has been banned from venues and cities for being too obscene and causing a stir with local women rights groups. In the end, he seems to simply wants to host the party where people have a memorable night.

I wasn't sure if I should post this episode and still feel vulnerability from doing so...I'm going to take that as a sign to do it.

The other day I was staring out my window as a monsoon storm swept through Southern Arizona near Mexico and I suddenly bolted off the couch to grab my journal. I quickly wrote 5 thought patterns that were negatively affecting every aspect of my life and my entire worldview about myself. Some have been around since childhood and all of them mold the man I am and will become unless I consciously change them.

I am not sure how or why they presented themselves to me in that moment but once I wrote them down, I felt a lightness that took hold for days. This podcast is based on those limiting beliefs I harbor within myself and what I am doing to defeat them.
