It's Friday afternoon, the trade deadline has passed, and now it's time to recap everything the Edmonton Oilers got done or didn't get done at the NHL's annual swap 'n shop. On today's show, we discussed the final 10 games of the regular season, team toughness, and much more.

The guys kicked off the podcast with a 15-minute argument about traffic circles as the boys tried anything possible to avoid talking about the Oilers. As you'll hear, the boys got passionate after calling Jay into the room to share his theory on a specific traffic circle tactic in the west end. Do you agree with Jay's hack, or are you a traffic circle purist like Baggedmilk?

Turning the show to the Oilers, the guys discussed the final 10 games of the season and how much we care about the results in this final stretch. If the team doesn't go 0-10, how much does it matter relative to the Oilers' need to get the team healthy? We also touched on Olivier Rodrigue's NHL debut that happened on Thursday against the Kraken and how it was a strong performance by the young man despite being thrown in the net in dire circumstances.

Changing gears, we touched on Stuart Skinner's injury and whether the team in front of him responded adequately. Despite being a throwaway comment by Baggedmilk, the ensuing argument about the lack of team toughness got spicier than expected. As you'll hear, the boys all had very different ideas about the approach to those situations, and it was fascinating to hear everyone work through the angles.

Finally, we wrapped up the episode with another round of betting talk, Ask the Idiots questions, and our Hot and Cold Performers. Even though the topics were all over the map, the conversation ended up getting a little bit spicier than you'd imagine from our usual Friday segments.

McDavid and Draisaitl injury timelines, Nugent-Hopkins' heater, and contract extensions

It's Tuesday afternoon, and a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is set, edited, and ready to massage your earhole. On today's episode, we discussed Evan Bouchard's next contract, McDavid and Draisaitl's injury timelines, Jeff Skinner, and much more.

We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about a neighbour in Dan's hood who keeps running his diesel truck for extended periods every day. As you'll hear, the neighbour is clearly trying to troll his neighbours with his vehicle, which led the guys to offer a range of solutions, from calling the bi-law officer to being much more petty than that. As a bonus delicious debate, Tyler wanted to know how the Jacob Chychrun extension in Washington will impact Evan Bouchard's upcoming negotiation. Needless to say, it's going to get expensive.

Changing gears, we looked at the updated injury timelines for Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl and how the Oilers will be without their two stars for (at least) the next three games. Given that the Oilers have some winnable games — Dallas aside — over the next week, it's not the worst idea to give the team's two best players a little some extra time to get healthy. The good news, however, is that Ryan Nugent-Hopkins has caught fire over the last week or so, and having the secondary scorers start to warm up certainly helps the decision. The tricky part of the situation is that the secondary scorers need to keep chipping in.

Finally, we wrapped up the Tuesday episode of ONR with a discussion about Connor McDavid's contract extension after a quote from Stan Bowman on Hockey Night in Canada had the fanbase buzzing. We also walked through some NHL and CFL futures in our betting segment for bet365 before wrapping up the podcast with a round of keys to victory ahead of Wednesday's matchup with the Dallas Stars.

On today's show, we discussed the Oilers losing Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid, their loss to the Winnipeg Jets, and what comes next for the team.

We kicked off the podcast with a delicious debate about what the Oilers will do with their line combinations with Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl out of the lineup for the next three games. Needless to say, losing your two best players is a massive issue regardless of the team, and now it will be up to the rest of the roster to do what they can to fill the void. As you'll hear, the boys pulled out their best mental gymnastics to put some new line combos together based on the players who are currently available.

Changing gears, we looked back at last night's loss to the Winnipeg Jets and how it was still a positive that the Oilers managed to grind out a point against a very good team under what were strange circumstances. While some Oilers fans are understandably upset about the loss, the boys on the podcast tried to reframe the result with a positive tone. Oilers look to extend win streak, Leon Draisaitl dominance, and secondary scoring

It's Tuesday afternoon and we're only a few hours away from the Edmonton Oilers taking on the Utah Hockey Club, which meant there was plenty to talk about on today's podcast. In today's show, we covered the Oilers' modest win streak, Leon Draisaitl's dominance, new line combinations, and much more.

We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about the power play and whether it's time for Kris Knoblauch to make some changes with his personnel. As you'll hear, the boys aren't opposed to making player changes, but if Knobby doesn't want to do that, he needs more than one player shooting the puck. Despite having a laundry list of quality shooters on PP1, there are only a couple of players who are willing to fire the puck.

From there, we looked back at the Oilers' successful weekend in New York and how crucial it was that they beat both the Islanders and Rangers to wrap up their road trip. For a team that seems to be battling confidence right now, securing those four points at the end of the trip was crucial, especially with the way the L.A. Kings have really started to heat up over the last few weeks. It's amazing what a bad two-week stretch of hockey can do for the standings, right?

We also touched on the incredible run Leon Draisaitl is on right now and how his 18-game point streak is not only the longest in the NHL this season but the longest of his career. No matter how well or poorly the team has played this season, the one constant has been Draisaitl's dominance on a nightly basis. In even better news, it looks like Connor McDavid is also starting to heat up after sniping a beautiful shot past Igor Shesterkin on Sunday at Madison Square Garden.

Finally, we wrapped up the Tuesday episode of ONR with a random collection of topics, including some betting talk ahead of Tuesday's matchup vs. Utah, what the Oilers need to do on their home stand, and much more. The Edmonton Oilers suffered a painful loss at the hands of the Buffalo Sabres on Monday, which meant there was plenty to discuss on the first episode of Oilersnation Radio of the week. On today's podcast, the guys discussed the new Oilers, Monday's disappointing loss to Buffalo, and much more.

The guys kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about the pieces the Oilers picked up at the trade deadline and what positives we're seeing from our newest players. Starting with Jake Walman, everyone on the podcast is pretty excited about the first couple of games he's played and how he seems to have a range of skills that the team desperately needed. The guys also had good things to say about the way Max Jones has played in his first handful of games, especially the way he's throwing his body around pretty much every shift he's out there.

Changing gears, we dug into Monday's loss against the Buffalo Sabres and how the result was as disappointing as it gets. Despite facing a bottom-feeder amid a six-game losing streak, the Oilers struggled to gain traction and ultimately fell by a single goal for a regulation loss. It's Friday afternoon, the trade deadline has passed, and now it's time to recap everything the Edmonton Oilers got done or didn't get done at the NHL's annual swap 'n shop. On today's show, we recapped the trade deadline, offered takes on our winners and losers, and took a deep dive into the three new Oilers Stan Bowman acquired over the last week.

We started the episode of ONR with a delicious debate about whether or not the Oilers did enough at the trade deadline to keep pace with the arms race that happened in the Western Conference. Obviously, the expectations in Edmonton are sky-high after going to Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final, and the question will be whether Stan Bowman could have done more. While everyone on the podcast wished for more, no one was all that disappointed in the deals that actually got done.

Looking at what the Oilers did get done, we looked at the three players Stan Bowman acquired and walked through what the team saw in each of them. For a team that was looking to add some truculence and puck-moving skills, these three new players will certainly help to accomplish that goal. Again, no one on the podcast is saying that the Oilers had a perfect deadline — they did not — but it also wouldn't be fair to call this a failure for the Oilers, given their cap and roster limitations.

From there, we discussed the winners and losers and offered our takes on who did the best and worst at the NHL trade deadline. Whether it's the Canucks for failing to move Brock Boeser, the Los Angeles Kings for doing next to nothing, or Dallas Stars for locking in the best player of the day, the guys offered up their reasons for who were the best and worst. We're only a few days away from the NHL trade deadline, which meant there was plenty to discuss on the Tuesday episode of Oilersnation Radio. In today's podcast, the guys discussed the Trent Frederic trade, Evander Kane's cap situation, secret no-move clauses, trade deadline plans, and much more.

We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about the Trent Frederic trade that happened early Tuesday morning, and whether the Oilers overpaid for the trade. We also discussed how everyone thinks this move affects the Oilers' trade plans going into the deadline, and if we think it signals some bigger moves from Bowman going forward. No matter how you look at the trade, the Oilers ultimately got one of the more notable rental targets, and that's something we haven't had around here too often over the years.

Changing gears, we looked back at Saturday's win over the Carolina Hurricanes and how it was incredibly important for the Oilers to snap their losing streak. From Calvin Pickard shutting the door between the pipes to Corey Perry coming up with another clutch goal to secure the win, it was a gritty victory that the team desperately needed. We also discussed the revelation that Viktor Arvidsson and Adam Henrique both have no-move clauses on their contract, which prompted the ire of Oilers fans given that some of the talk around potentially moving on from some of our struggling forwards.

Looking ahead at the trade deadline, we discussed the news from this week that Evander Kane is looking to return before the end of the regular season, which would seriously impact the team's chance of making additional deals. Two lacklustre performances against the Philadelphia Flyers and Washington Capitals have put them into a tough spot heading into Tampa Bay. Canada beats USA, Connor McDavid scores the winner, and the Oilers are back

Is there anything better than a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio to recap Canada's win over the USA at the 4 Nations Face-Off while also previewing tomorrow's return for the Edmonton Oilers? I didn't think so. On this week's podcast, we discussed Connor McDavid's game-winner over the USA, how excited we are for the Olympics, previewed Saturday's Oilers game, and much more.

We kicked off the Friday episode of Oilersnation Radio with a delicious debate about the Canadian Olympic team since we're only a year out from the next best-on-best tournament and what adjustments we would make to the lineup. Obviously, Team Canada put together an all-star team for the 4 Nations tournament, but does that mean there isn't room for improvement? As you'll hear, the boys had different ideas about which adjustments they'd make ahead of next year's tourney.

Sticking with the 4 Nations Face-Off final, we discussed how the NHL couldn't have gotten a better two weeks of action despite this being a one-off tournament. After such an exciting two weeks of hockey, it's almost going to be a bit of a comedown to get back to the regularly scheduled NHL programming. Even though the regular season won't be nearly as feisty as what we got from the best-on-best tournament, all of us hope that some of the people who got into hockey because of the tournament will stick with it.

Talking about the 4 Nations Face-Off, and previewing Canada vs. USA

It's Friday afternoon, which means a new episode of Oilersnation Radio has been recorded and edited and is ready to massage your earholes. On today's podcast, we discussed Canada vs. Sweden, predicted what will happen against Team USA, and much more.

We kicked off the newest episode of ONR with a discussion about the anthems at the 4 Nations tournament and whether we think it's appropriate to boo at a sporting event or if the fans should leave politics out of the equation. As you'll hear, no one on the podcast would boo at a hockey game, but they also weren't prepared to say that no one should do it. That said, it's a complicated situation for the NHL and one that doesn't seem to have an end in sight.

Changing gears, Baggedmilk told a few stories from his quick trip to Montreal. Despite only being in the city for 39 hours, he had a lot to say about being at the 4 Nations Face-Off, Bell Centre hot dogs being overrated, and what it was like to be in the building for Canada vs. Sweden. Baggedmilk admitted he wasn't overly excited about the tournament leading up to that first game, but that changed almost immediately after walking into the Bell Centre for the first time.

Turning the podcast back to the Oilers, we looked through some rumours surrounding the team as the trade deadline approaches on March 7th. Starting with the Noah Dobson rumour that had people excited, Liam threw cold water on the situation after Frank Seravalli appeared on Oilersnation Everyday and said the idea doesn't make sense from an Islanders perspective. It's Time for the 4 Nations Face-Off

We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about how the NHL can get people more excited about the 4 Nations Face-Off. After cruising around social media, Baggedmilk got the sense that not everyone is dialled into the idea of the tournament taking over the next two weeks. As a result, the fellas came up with whatever ideas they could to try and raise the hype surrounding this one-off tourney.

Turning the podcast back to the Oilers, we walked through Edmonton's loss to the Avalanche on Friday night and how it was a frustrating loss to see them go down the way they did. Starting with another tough night for Stuart Skinner, the Oilers had essentially lost that game before it even started after a string of costly errors put them in a hole in the first period. That had the boys wondering if Skinner's struggles have amplified the Oilers' need to acquire a goaltender, which led to Liam wondering where the John Gibson noise keeps coming from.

Looking at some positive Oilers news, we talked about the incredible season Leon Draisaitl is having and how he seems to be getting better with each passing game. Even though some folks out east don't seem to appreciate his brilliance, watching him hit new levels and raise his game the way he has is a real treat to watch. One last Oilers game before the 4 Nations break

We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about Jeff Skinner's spot in the lineup and whether he's doing enough to keep himself in the top six. Given that the winger has played well over the last handful of games, will that be enough for Kris Knoblauch? Or will the Oilers' coach continue to mix up his lines in the hopes of finding the perfect fit? As you'll hear, everyone is cautiously optimistic about Skinner's game, but everyone is still a little gun-shy based on his usage so far this season.

Changing gears, we looked at Viktor Arvidsson's big goal against the Chicago Blackhawks and whether that beautiful snipe gave us some excitement that could get his offence going. Given that the Oilers paid him a bunch of money to score goals, having only seven on the year is certainly concerning, but that also means there's more there than we're seeing. We also touched on the Oilers loaning Noah Philp back to the Condors ahead of the 4 Nations break and how it's important that he keeps playing instead of sitting around here in Edmonton.

We then looked at some recent quotes from Stan Bowman regarding his plans for the trade deadline. As you'll hear, it sounds like the Oilers are seeking depth as opposed to a major acquisition, but there's also no way that he's going to tip his entire hand. It's Tuesday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to massage your earholes and cover all of the Edmonton Oilers' biggest stories. On this week's podcast, we discussed the Oilers' loss to Toronto, Kris Knoblauch's new line combos, NHL trade news, and much more.

To kick off the first episode of ONR of the week, we started with a delicious debate about whether the Oilers have a goaltending problem and whether they should look at an upgrade between the pipes at the trade deadline. After a tough night for Stuart Skinner against Toronto on Saturday, the guys debated whether or not Stan Bowman should be looking elsewhere. The boys kicked off the Friday episode of ONR by discussing Brendon Saad's signing with the Vegas Golden Knights. Given that there was some hope around Nation HQ that the Stan Bowman connection would lure Saad to Edmonton as a cheap free agent, it is slightly annoying that he wound up with a Pacific Division rival. As you'll hear, Rick didn't care that Saad ended up in Vegas, while Tyler and Liam made a case for how he would have fit in the Oilers' roster.

Changing gears, we examined last night's 3-2 loss to the Detroit Red Wings and how it was one of the more annoying losses we've seen recently. After a wonderful first period, the Oilers really duffed the second period with poor puck management, which allowed the Red Wings to get back in the game and fight their way to a win. We also looked at John Klingberg's Oilers debut and offered our first impressions on the Oilers' newest toy. Given that he hasn't played in over a calendar year, we all thought he played well in his first game and look forward to seeing how he progresses over the coming weeks.

From there, we looked at the Oilers' quarter-century team for a total of 15 seconds, as no one on the podcast really cared about the rosters announced yesterday. If anything, the guys spent more time criticizing the Utah Hockey Club for ignoring their Coyotes and Jets history, while the current Jets included plenty of former Thrashers in their lineup. More importantly, Tyler walked everyone through the new cap numbers projected over the next three years and explained how this is fantastic news for the Edmonton Oilers.

The boys are back with a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio as they sit down to talk about the biggest stories surrounding the Edmonton Oilers. To kick off the podcast today, the guys got into a pretty spirited debate about the way that Kris Knoblauch and his coaching staff have handled Jeff Skinner. The team is winning, so why complain is the argument that Rick put forward but Tyler and Liam think that they aren’t putting some players in spots to succeed.

The guys started the Friday episode of ONR with a quick discussion about getting to Jasper with a handful of co-workers from across the continent and how everyone is so excited to get this year's tourney going. As you'll hear, the boys are brimming with excitement to be back at the JPL for the third consecutive year.

Turning the podcast back to the Oilers, the guys dove into a recap of last night's 6-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks, and how that team looks completely broken. That led to the guys discussing how J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson were invisible in Thursday's matchup and how the Canucks are nearing a trade for one of those players, which could ultimately end their season.

Changing gears, the guys spoke about the incredible game that Corey Perry had against Canucks, and how the veteran forward was able to live rent free in Vancouver all night long. From the way he pinned Quinn Hughes down to the ice and refused to engage with any of the Canucks' attempts to get him to drop the gloves. The result was a Vancouver implosion that was incredible to witness, and the boys wish that this was the version of the Worm we get down the stretch.

We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about Connor McDavid's three-game suspension and whether the NHL got it right. Given that the refs were responsible for the whole mess, many hockey fans were surprised that both players received matching suspensions. As you'll hear, no one is really upset with the DoPS for their decision but rather that the situation was allowed to boil over in the first place.

Sticking with the McDavid suspension, we looked at some of the drawn penalty numbers that don't make much sense regarding what Connor has to deal with on a nightly basis. We also looked at players around the NHL speaking up about the incident and how no one seems to have a problem with McDavid reacting the way he did. That also brought around another round of debate about whether the Oilers have enough toughness with the lineup when these situations arise.

With No. 97 out of the lineup for the next three games, Kris Knoblauch blended up his line combinations at Tuesday's practice and bumped a couple of players up in the roster. With guys potentially getting more opportunity, now would be the perfect time for some depth scoring to help raise the tides. The Oilers sign John Klingberg on the heels of two big comeback wins

It's the Friday afternoon after a pair of huge Oilers comeback wins, which meant the boys had plenty to talk about on the Friday episode of Oilersnation Radio. This week, the guys discussed the John Klingberg signing, Connor McDavid's goal heater, Noah Philp being recalled, and much more.

We started the podcast with a delicious debate about John Klingberg signing a one-year deal with the Oilers this morning and how he fits into the Oilers' lineup. Given that he hasn't played in well over a year, we also wondered what's fair to expect from him as he works his way back into playing shape. We've seen plenty of examples of players missing time early in NHL seasons and taking plenty of time to get back up to speed.

Changing gears, we looked at the two comeback wins over the Wild and Avalanche. Obviously, it's great that the Oilers could erase their early deficits and ultimately win the game. Still, it's undoubtedly a problem that they're giving up so many early goals, and they have got to clean up those details and mistakes. Another angle on the issue is: Are the Oilers having an issue with slow starts, or is there something to be said about the ridiculous travel schedule they've had lately?

Looking at some of the individual performances that have happened over the last few games, and how some key players are coming up with clutch goals when we need them most. Given that we've always been gagging for secondary scoring, having the Oilers get goals from throughout their lineup is a blessing the team hasn't had in forever.

Finally, the boys wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots and Hot that featured some Oilers questions about topics you never expected to hear. Connor McDavid's birthday goal powers Oilers to victory over the Kings

It's Tuesday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to massage your earholes and cover all of the Edmonton Oilers' biggest stories. On this week's podcast, we discussed the NHL playoff format, Monday's win over the Los Angeles Kings, and a whole lot more.

We kicked off the Tuesday podcast with a delicious debate about the NHL playoff format and whether it's time for the league to revisit how the post-season is set up. With the current setup in place, the NHL clearly focuses on playoff rivalries more so than if everyone got re-seeded. Still, a conversation at Nation HQ made Baggedmilk wonder if it's time to re-visit the current format, which ultimately prompted the discussion.

Returning to the Oilers, we looked back at last night's 1-0 win over the Los Angeles Kings and how it was one of Edmonton's best defensive outings of the season. Given that only one goal was scored all night, it was crucial to manage the puck carefully to avoid costly errors, and the guys discussed why the Oilers could do that successfully. We also discussed Connor McDavid scoring the game-winner on his 28th birthday and how an incredible second effort by Leon Draisaitl made the whole play possible.

Sticking with the news from the past few days, we revisited Jeff Skinner being healthy scratched again and whether there's something to that lineup decision or if Kris Knoblauch went 11/7 to add some size to the lineup with Josh Brown. Given that Skinner was starting to play better, it was surprising for some Oilers fans to see him taking a spot in the press box again. We also looked at the rumour from Darren Dreger that the Oilers could be one of the teams interested in John Klingberg, who is reportedly nearing a return to the NHL.

Finally, we wrapped up the Tuesday episode of ONR with a discussion about another tough stretch in the Oilers' schedule that's coming up this week. The Oilers were able to handle the last difficult week of the schedule quite well the last time, but it will be much tougher to beat some of those teams for a second time. Either way, we gave our keys to victory regarding what the Oilers need to do to beat the Wild/Avalanche, and what habits they need to flex to make sure it's doable. Does it matter how the wins come if you're collecting two points? We also looked at other topics du jours, including Lauren Kyle's new business venture, Matt Savoie's recent AHL success, and a retirement announcement from an Oiler friend.

Finally, we wrapped up the Tuesday episode of ONR with a discussion about tonight's game against the Boston Bruins. The Oilers were able to beat the Bruins in their first matchup of the season, but it will be much tougher if they're going to sweep the season series. The holiday season is behind us, which means it's time to get back to work with a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio. On this week's episode, we discussed Canada's failure at the World Juniors, new line combos at Oilers practice, and much more.

Kicking off the Friday episode of ONR, the guys started with a delicious debate about Canada at the World Juniors and how they failed to make it past the quarter-finals for the second straight year. Was it a problem with roster construction? Was it the team's lack of discipline at key moments? Was there bad luck mixed in because no one on the team could score? Was the coaching staff to blame for the lack of accountability? Needless to say, there is plenty of blame to go around after another disappointing season.

Turning the podcast back to the Oilers, we discussed the New Year's Eve win over Utah and how refreshing it was to see the Oilers rebound after a pair of tough losses in California. Not only was it an important game to avoid a three-game losing streak, but it was also crucial for the Oilers to put down a statement effort against a team they should probably beat more often than not. That led us to discuss the new line combinations from practice yesterday and whether we think Kris Knoblauch will stick with these new trios for any length of time.

We then talked about the recent report that the Oilers will be looking to extend Ty Emberson before the season ends after losing a two young players last summer to offer sheets. Clearly the Oilers want to learn from their mistakes in how Holloway and Broberg were handled means losing young guys can't happen again. Given how Emberson has progressed through the first 35 games of the season, locking him up now makes a world of sense.

The boys are back from Christmas break with a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio, recapping the holiday and getting everyone ready for tomorrow's matchup between the Edmonton Oilers and the Los Angeles Kings. On this week's show, the guys discussed the Christmas break, the Oilers' schedule, playoff races, and a whole lot more.

The Friday episode of Oilersnation Radio kicked off with a delicious debate about the Pacific Division standings and, specifically, how everyone would feel about another playoff matchup against the L.A. Kings. Even though we're still a long way from the end of the season, Edmonton/Los Angeles would be the first-round matchup if the playoffs started today.

Next, we looked back on Edmonton's very strong December, which led to the conversation about whether this is the standard we should expect going forward. Even if you don't expect the Oil to win 11 of every 13 games they play, what everyone agreed on is that no one should be surprised by the way the team turned things around after another slow start. If anything, we could see more runs like the one the boys were on before the Christmas break.

Working through the back half of the podcast, we changed gears to a little bit of betting talk centred around Connor McDavid's Art Ross Trophy race. Now that McDavid is just outside the top six in league scoring, everyone gave their take on whether the captain has enough runway left to finish climbing the ladder. After a tough loss to the Florida Panthers on Monday, the Edmonton Oilers got themselves back in the win column with a comeback effort against the Boston Bruins. Was it the prettiest win you'll ever see? No. Does it matter when you get two points? Also, no... maybe.

We started the Friday episode of Oilersnation Radio with a delicious debate about the Oilers' new defensive pairings from practice this morning. Although Kris Knoblauch doesn't mix up his D-pairings very often, this morning's practice showed a significant shift away from the status quo. Do you like the new pairings? Do you hate them? Are you confused by the change like Baggedmilk? The answers were all over the map.

Changing gears, we looked back at Thursday's win over the Bruins and how the Oilers secured the victory despite not playing their best game. A big part of that win was Leon Draisaitl's seventh consecutive multi-point night, which gave him 50 on the year and 900 points in his career. The Oilers fall 6-5 to the Panthers in a Stanley Cup rematch

The Edmonton Oilers had their five game win streak snapped last night against the Florida Panthers.

It was a chaotic game with neither team playing well but, unfortunately, it was the Panthers that found the sixth goal before the Oilers did. Liam, Rick and Nation Dan will talk you back through that game discussing the performance of Evan Bouchard, Stuart Skinner and Zach Hyman. Additionally, they talked about the controversial decision to allow Matthew Tkachuk's power play goal stand after there was a discussion if he kicked the puck or not.

Furthermore, after that defeat, head coach Kris Knoblauch shuffled up the line combinations with Jeff Skinner and Connor Brown switching spots. There were also comments about when Viktor Arvidsson could return to the lineup.

The Edmonton Oilers are so back

The Edmonton Oilers have steamrolled through their competition over the last week, which meant there was plenty to discuss on the Friday episode of Oilersnation Radio.

The guys kicked off the Friday episode of the podcast with a delicious debate about whether Ryan Hartman should be suspended for his dirty hit on Evan Bouchard in Thursday's game against the Minnesota Wild. Given that Hartman has a history of being fined and suspended for dirty plays, the conversation was a little more split than you may think. After watching the video a handful of times, the guys' thoughts were all over the map as they tried to figure out what the right move was.

Changing gears, we looked back at last night's 7-1 win over the Minnesota Wild and how it was one of the most dominant performances the Oilers have had in quite some time. Not only was it a total beatdown, but to do it against one of the best teams in the league was a surprise that none of us saw coming. From Calvin Pickard playing lights out between the pipes to Leon Draisaitl taking over the game with a dominant performance, the Oilers got big performances from key players on their road to victory.

Given how the Oilers are playing right now, there are going to be some very interesting roster decisions to make as the team gets healthy. As an example, who comes out of the lineup when a guy like Viktor Arvidsson comes back? What about down the line when Evander Kane comes back? Needless to say, this is a very good problem for the team to have and one that we haven't really experienced before. When you're a strong hockey club like the Oilers are, the team has a chance to get even better and that's a fantastic to think about.

A Lightning preview, and the schedule gets tough for the Edmonton Oilers

It's game day for the Edmonton Oilers as they kick off a very tough stretch in their schedule, which meant there was plenty to talk about on the Tuesday episode of Oilersnation Radio.

The guys started the first episode of Oilersnation Radio with a delicious debate about yesterday's Mackenzie Blackwood trade and whether the Oilers missed the opportunity to acquire the former San Jose Shark. Given the limited picks and prospects available for trade, could the Oilers have tabled a similar offer even if they wanted to try? The other angle the guys discussed is whether Blackwood would fit the plans, given how well Skinner and Pickard are playing right now.

Changing gears, we reviewed the report from earlier today that the Oilers and McDavid have yet to start contract negotiations and probably will not until the season is over. We also looked at the incredible run that Connor McDavid has been on over his last 13 games, and we then worked through our guesses about when he could take over the NHL scoring lead. Pivoting to Saturday's win over the St. Louis Blues, we then discussed whether it was cool to boo Philip Broberg and Dylan Holloway during that game. As you'll hear, none of us had a problem with it, even though some local media members disagreed.

Looking ahead at the 4 Nations Face-Off, we discussed whether it was a problem that only three Oilers were named to the tournament. Seeing as Zach Hyman and Evan Bouchard were notable omissions from the Canadian roster, we wondered how big of a deal it is that they won't be playing, especially when you remember that two weeks of rest at that point of the year could be a good thing. The other angle will be whether those guys will eventually make their way onto the team if injuries arise.

To kick things off, they looked at the two games that the team has played since the last podcast. They lost to the Vegas Golden Knights but bounced back in a big way to beat the Columbus Blue Jackets. They gave their thoughts on the victory and how the team has looked over the past week.

Slogging through the Oilers' mini bye-week

There are no Edmonton Oilers games until Friday, which meant today's episode of Oilersnation Radio was spent looking at what's to come and what's been happening over the first quarter of the 2024-25 NHL season. This week, the boys discussed the Oilers' scoring woes, what's happening with Hyman and Arvidsson, and a whole lot more.

The guys started the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about the scoring issues and whether we should be concerned about any of the struggling players. Whether it's Viktor Arvidsson's mysterious injury, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins' struggles or Jeff Skinner's being in the coach's doghouse, there are a few players who need to pick it up, whether we're worried about them or not.

Changing gears, we looked at some of the other news that's happened over the last few days, including Vasily Podkolzin's first goal as an Oilers, the injuries to Hyman and Arvidsson, and we also looked at Darnell Nurse's first game back after the hit by Ryan Reaves last week in Toronto. Despite no games until Friday, we still got a lot of Oilers news over the last few days, and we took the time to cover it all.

Finally, the guys wrapped up the Tuesday episode of Oilersnation Radio with a flurry of random topics, including another rant about the Oilers not needing John Gibson, who will play in net for Canada at the 4 Nations Face Off, some betting talk, and when we think Stuart Skinner will get his save percentage back above .900. What went wrong against the Wild, and what the Oilers need to do against the Rangers

The Edmonton Oilers are back home after a mediocre eastern Canadian road trip, and their first game back at Rogers Place wasn't much better, which meant there was plenty to talk about on the Friday episode of Oilersnation Radio. This week, we recapped Thursday's loss to the Minnesota Wild, looked at the Oilers' injury issues, and a whole lot more.

The guys kicked off the Friday episode of the podcast with a delicious debate about the Oilers' goaltending and how concerned we are about the current situation and tandem. Given that Stuart Skinner was the second best goalie again last night even though the game started with a mind blowing mistake on Marc-Andre Fleury that came only 27 seconds into the first period. Yet, at the same time, is it fair to blame everything on Stuart Skinner given the mistakes that are happening in front of him?

Changing gears, we then looked at the injuries that the Oilers are running up against all of a sudden. With Viktor Arvidsson still on the shelf despite being listed as day-to-day for the last week, Zach Hyman getting banged up, and Darnell Nurse still an unknown after the Ryan Reaves hit in Toronto, Edmonton now finds themselves with some pretty key players off the roster for the short term.

We then looked at the rumour mill after a handful of names have been tied to the Oilers over the last couple of weeks and whether any of those players could be realistic trade targets. As much as it's fun to imagine another Ekholm-like trade, is it realistic to expect movement this early in the season when we still don't have clarity on Edmonton's cap situation?

The struggle of being an Oilers fan, Evan Bouchard's struggles, and Darnell Nurse

It's game day for the Edmonton Oilers as they continue their eastern Canadian road trip, which meant there was plenty to talk about on the Tuesday episode of Oilersnation Radio.

The guys started the Tuesday episode of Oilersnation Radio with a delicious debate about what is the most concerning aspect of the Oilers' struggles right now. Whether it's goaltending needing to improve, concerns about the defence, or the forwards being unable to score, the debate about what's actually the biggest problem was all over the map. Needless to say, the boys all had different opinions about what's the biggest problem right now, but at the same time, they all seem to connect somehow.

Changing gears, we looked at the Oilers' defensive situation with Darnell Nurse on the shelf for 5-10 days after taking that brutal hit from Ryan Reaves. With Nurse out of the lineup, the defensive issues have gotten worse and it certainly doesn't help that Evan Bouchard is struggling mightily and directly responsible for so many mistakes over the last handful of games. No matter how you slice it, the defensive coverage has been an adventure lately and it's not all that surprising the boys focused on it for a healthy chunk of time.

Finally, the squad wrapped up the Tuesday podcast with some betting talk, keys to victory for beating the Senators, and offered up a score prediction ahead of tonight's game at the Canadian Tire Centre. Given that the Oilers and Senators are both working through varying inconsistencies, their first of two meetings on the season could be prove to be a big one. That said, if the Oilers plan to win this one then they'll need a much better effort than what we got on Monday in Montreal.

How would you grade the Oilers' three games without Connor McDavid?

Last night's game against the New Jersey Devils was a tough one for the Edmonton Oilers, which meant an irritated cast on the Tuesday episode of Oilersnation Radio. On today's podcast, we looked at Connor McDavid's recovery, Monday's shutout loss to the Devils, a minor-league trade, and more.

We started the Tuesday podcast with a delicious debate about the letter grade everyone would give the Oilers after three games without Connor McDavid in the lineup. With a 2-1-0 record without their captain, the fellas gave their notes on what's been happening over the last three games and why they assigned the grades they did.

Changing gears, the conversation turned toward the Oilers' special teams and how they're losing games because of areas where they've been solid historically. Put another way, if ever you were going to make a list of the issues the Oilers might have during the 2024-25 season, there's no way anyone would have included the power play.

Getting into the news from the week, we started with a discussion about when Connor McDavid will return to the lineup after being cryptic about whether or not he'll be available for Saturday's game in Vancouver. Is McDavid coming back the reason that the team loaned Drake Caggiula to the Condors? If McDavid does come back for Saturday's game, does that mean Derek Ryan might hit the waiver wire?

Finally, we wrapped up the Tuesday episode of ONR by looking ahead to tomorrow's matchup against the Vegas Golden Knights. One of the weirder things about Vegas' season is that they're currently undefeated at home but have yet to win on the road. It's one of the stranger stats you will ever hear, but the goal of the podcast is not just to entertain but also to teach the audience a few things from time to time.

Sticking with last night's win, the boys gave their first impressions of how Noah Philp looked in his first NHL game and how great it was to see him pick up his first assist. Yet, even though everyone loves how he played, it's important to remember that he's an older prospect and that the ceiling may not be as sky-high as some people think. If he can stick in the lineup and lock down the 4C spot, wouldn't that be good enough?

Last night's game against the Columbus Blue Jackets couldn't have gone worse for the Edmonton Oilers, which meant a sombre tone on the Tuesday episode of Oilersnation Radio. On today's episode, we looked at the Connor McDavid injury, who fills the void, Philp/Caggiula being recalled, and more.

The boys started the Tuesday podcast episode with a delicious debate about the Connor McDavid injury and how the Oilers can realistically fill the void for a player that can not be duplicated. Elliotte Friedman tweeted Tuesday afternoon that the team is expected to recall Noah Philp and Drake Caggiula, meaning the Oilers will need to figure out line configurations and how they can best be effective.

We then wondered aloud about McDavid's injury and our initial thoughts after seeing him go down. Considering it was an innocuous-looking play, it's unbelievable that he could be injured for any length of time after such a minor collision. Regardless of how McDavid's injury happened, the Oilers will have to navigate a captainless existence in the short term. It's a massive hole to fill, and the question will be whether or not they can get anywhere close to doing it.

As we were recording, the news became official that the Oilers recalled Noah Philp and Drake Caggiula, meaning the team is no longer able to accrue cap space while they're on the lineup. Even though that's a temporary issue while McDavid is out of the lineup, the Oilers will have less space at the trade deadline than they initially hoped.

The Oilers dropped their last two games against Dallas and Carolina, causing the vibes around the team to drop dramatically. That said, we're still feeling good about the team going forward, and we did our best to try and explain why everyone else should be too.

We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about the Oilers' new power play line combos and whether we think these new configurations will stick for any length of time. Edmonton hasn't adjusted its power play lines all that much over the last few years, which led us to discuss how much leash everyone thinks the new hotness will have before turning back to the old faithful.

Changing gears, Dan mentioned he was unhappy with Kris Knoblauch's OT usage, and we talked about why he thinks the ice time should be split up a little more. Some of the boys think that loss is more a product of bad luck than OT usage. We then looked at the new line combos that Kris Knoblauch put together and whether this shuffle would be the key to balancing out the attack.

Looking ahead at Friday's game against the Penguins and what the biggest keys to victory will be for the Oilers to get back in the win column. From the special teams getting going to taking care of their end to capitalize on their chances to score, there are plenty of details the Oilers can dial in if they're going to get back in the win column.

Oilers' scoring woes, the special teams, and new line combos

We're back to two episodes of Oilersnation Radio per week, and unfortunately, that meant we had to spend the Tuesday episode of the podcast talking about why the Oilers can't seem to score goals right now.

We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about Stuart Skinner and whether or not the hate he's getting online is deserved. While there's no doubt that Skinner needs to be better, there's also an argument to be made about how the skaters in front of him aren't playing their best either. The more significant point for all of us, however, is that it's tough to win hockey games when you don't score goals.

Changing gears, we reviewed the news from this past week, including Knoblauch's new line combos, key players' lack of scoring, and the Oilers' special teams. Starting with the lack of power play success, we looked at what the Oilers might change tactically to try and get back on top. Outside of changing up the personnel, would it make sense for the Oilers' to simplify the approach a little bit with more shots and crashing the crease? We also looked at the scoring totals and how there are some key players without having any points on the board. Are the goals coming, or are we looking at a cold streak we think will continue?

Finally, we wrapped up the Tuesday episode of Oilersnation Radio with a game preview ahead of Tuesday's matchup with the Hurricanes and offered up our keys to victory for how the Oilers can lock in their third win of the season. We then wrapped up the show some betting talk ahead of tonight's matchup against the Carolina Hurricanes. It's the Friday afternoon after a big Oilers win, which meant the vibes were excellent on the second episode of Oilersnation Radio of the week.

We kicked off Friday's episode of the podcast with a delicious debate about the Oilers' power play and, specifically, whether or not Kris Knoblauch should make any changes to the PP1. Even though the power play is struggling so far, it's also very early to make changes to a line that has been one of the best the league has ever seen in years.

Looking back at the last two games, we dove into the Oilers' first two victories of the year and how the win over Philly prevented Tyler from having to eat cat food again. Yet, despite talking about the game for 30 seconds, the conversation quickly fell off the rails with a way-too-early debate about Warren Foegele vs. Viktor Arvidsson.

Changing gears entirely, we looked at the Oilers' willingness to drop the mitts over the last two games and how those fights sparked the team in a very real way. That's not to suggest that fighting is the key to success in the NHL — no one is saying that — but it's hard to ignore the impact those three scraps had on the team at the moment.

Deja-Vu in Oilers land after another rough start to the season

Even though going 0-3 isn't the worst thing to happen in the big picture, that doesn't mean anyone should be happy about how the Oilers have started.

Whether it's the lack of scoring from the top six, the lack of overall execution, or the inability to get going to start the year, there are plenty of reasons to be disappointed in the Edmonton Oilers. A tough opening game for the Edmonton Oilers

The Edmonton Oilers season began on Wednesday and it's safe to say it went terribly. After losing 6-0 to the Winnipeg Jets, the Oilersnation Radio gang (Tyler, Liam, Rick and Dan) took a look back at what went wrong for the Copper and Blue in that home opener. That then bled into today's delicious debate: What concerned you the most about that opening loss?

From there, they chatted a little about the news that Raphael Lavoie was claimed by the Vegas Golden Knights. The Lavoie saga has gone on all week with the former second round pick going on waivers three times. The guys expressed their disappointment that yet another prospect goes at the door without much value coming back.

The big fantastic 2024-25 Oilers predictions episode

We're back to two episodes of Oilersnation Radio per week, and we're kicking off the regular season schedule with our annual predictions episode to go over how we think the next six months will play out.

We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR by reviewing the news since Friday's episode. We started with Raphael Lavoie being claimed by the Vegas Golden Knights, who then put him back on waivers 24 hours later. This unique situation actually allows Edmonton to bring Lavoie back, provided that no one lower in the priority list also puts in a claim. The boys also walked through the salary cap implications of these moves, even though no one understood what was happening.

Looking ahead at the 2024-25 season, the boys offered their boldest predictions for the upcoming campaign, and there's little doubt everyone is drinking the Kool-Aid. From predicting McDavid's point production to team totals to Stuart Skinner's workload between the pipes, the boys were all over the map with their numbers. For the most part, the guys were all on the same page with most of their predictions, which made the disagreements all the more enjoyable.

Finally, the guys wrapped up the Tuesday episode of ONR with a round of betting talk ahead of tomorrow's season opener against the Jets. Given that the season is opening up at Rogers Place, the fellas are excited to put a couple of nickels down in the hopes of making a few dollars to kick off the year.

With Friday being the 7th annual Oilersnation Open, the guys got together to drop this week's episode of Oilersnation Radio a day early. As always, they kicked things off with their delicious debate, which today was focused on the reports that the Oilers could be looking at the trade market as a way to address the right side of their blueline. Do the guys think Stan Bowman will make a splash before the season starts? Is that even the right move to make? They debated it.

The boys are back with a Friday edition of Oilersnation Radio and for the first time in a few weeks, they have some actual news to break down. They began things by sinking their teeth into the offer sheet drama that unfolded this week. The Oilers were hit with dual predatory offer sheets from the St. Louis Blues and now they're at risk of having to watch both Dylan Holloway and Philip Broberg walk away. Can they keep them both? Should they let one of the two players walk? The guys began the show by talking about their initial reactions to the news and how the Oilers will handle this complicated situation.

The Biggest 'What Ifs' in Oilers History

The boys are back for a Friday edition of Oilersnation Radio as they sit down for an hour of Oilers talk. To kick off today's pod, the guys talked about the news that Oscar Klefbom has officially retired. They talked about his career, which was cut way too short and that led into some talk about the biggest 'what ifs' in Oilers history. From draft blunders, to major injuries, and poor playoff performances, they debated the butterfly effects that would go with some of these major moments for the franchise.

It's Friday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio has been edited and is ready to massage your ear holes. This week, we're talking about the Leon Draisaitl extension, long weekend plans, some Baggedmilk Trivia, and whatever random nonsense we could think of to fill the time.

The guys started this week's podcast with a delicious debate about how many Oilers we believe could realistically score 30 goals during the 2024-25 season. Given the calibre of forwards on Edmonton's roster, it's fair to drink the Kool-Aid and buy into the idea that the Oilers could have upward of four or five guys to reach the 30-goal mark.

Despite the slow news time, the boys still had a few items to talk about from this past week, including MacT and Randy Gregg being the next players included in the Oilers' Hall of Fame. That led us to discuss who might be on next year's list and where the cutoff should be for inclusion. Once they actually started talking about hockey, the conversation turned to who Jeff Jackson will hire as the Oilers' new general manager over the next few weeks. Will he pick an experienced candidate, as many people suspect, or will he go with a different candidate that no one sees coming? Either way, Jackson said earlier this week that he would like to get someone in place sooner rather than later, so it seems like it won't be much longer until we get our answer.

Despite the fact that nothing is happening in the hockey world right now, the fact that we were able to knock out more than an hour of hockey content is truly remarkable. It's Friday afternoon, meaning a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio has been edited and ready to massage your ear holes. This week, we're talking all things free agency, as the Oilers were major players in the NHL's annual fishing derby.

Kicking off the Tuesday episode of Oilersnation Radio, the boys started the show with a delicious debate about everyone's favourite move from the first day of free agency. Even though the Oilers didn't have much cap space to spend, Jeff Jackson was able to do a lot to not only bring back his free agents but also improve the roster.

The guys also offered their grades on all of the moves the Oilers made yesterday. From bringing back Connor Brown, Adam Henrique, and Mattias Janmark as UFAs to landing Jeff Skinner and Viktor Arvidsson as UFAs, Edmonton was one of the busier teams in the league on day one, and the fellas were pretty damned excited to talk about it.

The Oilers don't have any top core players heading to free agency; however, they still have the likes of Warren Foegele, Adam Henrique and Mattias Janmark all pending as unrestricted free agency. Liam, Rick, Dan and Tyler, for a short period of the show, dove into who the Oilers should look to bring back and who they should move on from. As the show moved on, they talked about Ken Holland after it was announced earlier this week that he would no longer be the general manager. The guys gave their thoughts his Holland's time here deciding if his tenure was successful or a failure. They then closed out the show with Ask the Idiots and Hot and Cold performers.

The Oilers lose in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final

The Edmonton Oilers quest for a sixth Stanley Cup came to an end last night, losing 2-1 to the Florida Panthers. The lose put a somber tone on today's edition of Oilersnation Radio. With Tyler and Baggedmilk travelling and Rick still in his feels, Liam and Nation Dan took the wheel along with Woz, Kennedy and, special guest, Captain Feltan.

Of the jump, the five of them recapped Game 7 and talked about what went wrong for the Oilers. Was it the early goal by the Florida Panthers? The play of Sergei Bobrovsky? Or not rolling the lines in the third period? From there, they continued to discuss the Final but specifically Connor McDavid's Conn Smythe win. They reviewed the final ballot and talked about McDavid not collecting the award on the ice.

As the show continued on, the gang started to have some fun with Dan's 3 v 3 game. This weeks topic was "Oilers Superfans" which was fitting with Captain Feltan in the room. They ran through that and then played "Can you clear this up for me?" which is Woz's signature segment.

On the Tuesday episode of ONR, the boys covered the Oilers' commanding Game 4 win, what they need to do to extend the series, and the rumours from last week that the team has engaged in extension talks with Leon Draisaitl.

We kicked off the Tuesday episode of Oilersnation Radio with a delicious debate about why everyone thinks the Oilers will still be alive tomorrow morning. Everybody knows how tough it's going to be for the Oilers to go into Sunrise and win their first road game of the series with their backs against the wall, but Baggedmilk wanted to hear why everyone thinks the job can still get done. No one is saying it will be easy, but that doesn't mean it's impossible.

Changing gears, the guys needed to spend some time discussing what it was like to experience a Stanley Cup Final win in Edmonton on Saturday night. Oilers look to avoid disaster on home ice

Oilers blew a massive opportunity in Game 3

There's no other way to describe Game 3 other than a complete debacle for the Oilers. What started out as a fantastic performance early on turned into a train wreck after the Oilers gave up three goals in the second period in a span of under five minutes. That shocking disregard for defending meant there was plenty to discuss on the Tuesday episode of Oilersnation Radio.

We started the Tuesday episode of Oilersnation Radio with a delicious debate about what the Oilers should do with their blue line ahead of Game 4. According to our pal Frank Seravalli, Kris Knoblauch hinted that the Oilers could make some changes to his defensive group, and we wondered who is the most likely to come out of the lineup. Is it Desharnais? Is it Cody Ceci? Someone else?

Oilers take Game 1 and looked damn good doing it

It's an on-location edition of Oilersnation Radio, and the boys had plenty to talk about after a huge Game 1 win last night in Dallas.

The boys started the podcast with a delicious debate about why we believe the Oilers are good enough to win the series against a very strong Dallas Stars team. Let's be honest: The Stars are probably the biggest challenge the Oilers have had so far in these playoffs, and watching them play as well as they did last night gave us plenty of reasons to believe.

Changing gears, we looked ahead at Game 2 and offered our takes on what the Oilers need to do to steal a second straight game in Dallas. From taking care of the puck in all three zones to maintaining their defensive structure, if the Oilers offer up another 60 minutes of hockey like that, then we should be in a really good spot.

Finally, the boys wrapped up the podcast with another round of Ask the Idiots, which revolved around what the Oilers did well on Thursday and how they can keep it going again on Saturday. The Edmonton Oilers punched their ticket to the Western Conference Final with a thrilling 3-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks, punching their ticket to Dallas with a clutch performance.

After an abysmal effort by the Oilers over the final 40 minutes of Game 5, today's episode of Oilersnation Radio was a tough one for all of us to record. Needless to say, we thought the second episode of ONR of the week was going to be a lot happier than it ended up being, but that's the NHL playoffs for you.

It's Friday afternoon and the Oilers are hours away from taking on the Canucks for Game 2, and that meant an on-the-road edition of Oilersnation Radio to preview the evening and recap what went wrong on Wednesday.

We started the podcast with a delicious debate about why we should remain optimistic ahead of Game 2 even though things went horribly wrong on Wednesday in Game 1. From the Oilers' ability to rebound after a bad night to Connor McDavid being held shotless, there were details from the first game in this series that are unlikely to repeat for two straight games.

Looking back on Game 1, we talked about the way the Oilers collapsed in the third period and how they need to keep pushing forward rather than trying to lock things down. When you're up against a skilled team like the Vancouver Canucks, sitting back to try and ride the clock out is a risky move.

How much do you care about the Oilers winning the Pacific Division?

It's Friday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is all set and ready to carry you into the weekend.

Kicking off the Friday podcast, we got started with a delicious debate about why the Oilers are better suited to win the Stanley Cup this year over last year. From the increased levels of experience to the way they had to fight through adversity early in the season to their improved forward depth, there are plenty of reasons to believe the Oilers can legitimately make a go of it.

Changing gears, we looked ahead at tonight's matchup versus the Arizona Coyotes only to have the conversation derailed in minutes because of the Utah relocation news. After Frank Seravalli broke the news that the Coyotes will be moving to Salt Lake City for next season, it's almost a relief that this neverending story is finally reaching a conclusion.

Turning our attention to what's left on the Oilers' schedule, we looked at this week's games against the Coyotes and Canucks and debated whether or not it makes sense for McDavid to sit out the whole weekend. Seeing as the Oilers still have the chance to win the Pacific Division, picking up wins is incredibly important, but do the points matter more than Connor being healthy for the playoffs?

Lastly, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots and Hot and Cold Performers before wrapping up the podcast with some score predictions ahead of the games against the Coyotes and Canucks. Breaking down two impressive wins & McDavid's injury

The guys are back with a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio on a beautiful Tuesday in Edmonton. They kicked off today's pod by looking back at the Oilers two big wins on the weekend. The team smoked the Colorado Avalanche on Friday and followed it up with a very impressive victory over the Calgary Flames on Saturday night, which prompted Tyler to ask the crew what the most impressive part of that six period stretch was. From there, they gave some love to a few individual players with Who Delivered for DoorDash. That eventually led to some talk about the news that they got today from Oilers practice. Connor McDavid is day-to-day with a lower-body injury and is questionable for tomorrow's game vs the Vegas Golden Knights. Should the team rest #97? Or is tomorrow nights game big enough that the Captain should play even if he's not at 100%? They debated it.

In the back half of the show, they played a little 3v3 centred around tomorrow's game against Vegas and Woz swung by with 'Can you clear that up for me?' where he asked just how important winning the division title actually is.

There's nothing better than spending your Friday afternoon with a fresh dose of Oilersnation Radio, the podcast dedicated to giving you a weekly hour of all things Edmonton Oilers. This week, we're discussing Wednesday's loss to the Stars, new line combinations, the Oilers' record vs. playoff teams, and more.

Kicking off the podcast, we started with a delicious debate about Wednesday's loss in Dallas and whether we should be concerned about the way things went against a legitimate Stanley Cup favourite. Seeing as losing 5-0 is a tough pill to swallow at the best of times, but having the boys look so disorganized against a team as good as Dallas was endlessly frustrating.

Changing gears, we looked at the new line combinations that Kris Knoblauch put down at practice today and wondered how the bottom line would fare with McDavid and Draisaitl together on the first line. With the nuclear deterrent now available at the top of the order, it will be hugely important for the rest of the roster to find ways to contribute.

Oilersnation Radio is your favourite twice-weekly podcast, and that makes today a great day because we've got a fresh episode of the show wrapped up and ready to get you through the week.

Kicking off the Tuesday podcast, we started the podcast with a very strange conversation about Liam's fashion sense after he confessed that he doesn't like wearing t-shirts. Coupled with a Nation Gear staff gift question, Liam's wardrobe turned into a fantastic opening segment that no one saw coming.

Getting back to the actual podcast, we got going with a delicious debate about what is the greatest X-factor for the Oilers down the stretch. Whether it's defencemen stepping up or players finding ways to score when it matters most, there are plenty of potential options to choose from. As you'll hear, there were plenty of interesting choices that ranged across the board.

We also spent a few minutes talking about goaltending after the Oilers signed Olivier Rodrique to a one-year contract extension. The guys also discussed former friend, Mikko Koskinen, announcing his retirement upon the completion of the Swiss season. In hindsight, were we too hard on Mikko?

Just because we're heading into the long weekend doesn't mean that we're not offering up our usual dose of Friday afternoon Oilers talk. This week, we're recapping the Oilers' big win over LA, Connor McDavid's Art Ross Trophy hunt, depth scoring, and more.

Kicking off the podcast, we started with a delicious debate about how Kris Knoblauch should dole out playing time down the stretch. Even though there's still plenty to play for right now, that may not necessarily be the case after the Oilers clinch a playoff spot. Would it make sense to sit some of the stars for a game or two if the team can lock in a second-place finish?

We also looked back at last night's win over the Los Angeles Kings and how that performance was one of the Oilers' best defensive efforts that we've seen in quite some time. Despite the Kings playing the trap, it was the Oilers that really didn't give up much of anything. Outside of their lone goal in the third period, the Kings struggled to get much done despite firing a ton of shots from the perimeter.
