If you know anything about me and my Taurus/Cancer/Scorpio energy, you know I don't like not being prepared. But my friend, Annika, *implied* that she missed my bedtime stories. I had to abide. Die letzten Monate waren ziemlich schwer für mein kleines Herz, aber als ich vor fast zwei Wochen meinen 25. Geburtstag feierte, fiel mir auf, dass dieses verkackte Jahr wahrscheinlich das beste Jahr meines Lebens war/ist. Ich freu mich sehr, wieder da zu sein. 

Nun zu den wichtigen Dingen:Yes, die Folge ist auf Deutsch. Ich fühl mich ganz schwummrig.Aber passend zu meiner wundervollen Gästin und ihrer wundervollen Berufung, habe ich mich ins unangenehme Planschbecken getraut und auf Not So Whimsical Deutsch gesprochen. Es gibt noch eine deutsche Folge im Backlog, also bin ich mal gespannt auf euer Feedback! 

Ich will euch hier nicht zu viel von Anna erzählen, das wär ja super kontraproduktiv. Aber, ich kann euch sagen, dass ich sie sehr liebe. Sie ist mein Star und sie hat ein gigantisches Herz und sie ist so wundervoll und liebt Humana Boxen und sie freut sich über Dinge wie kein.e andere.r und lustig findet sie mich auch und hab ich schon erwähnt, wie sehr ich sie liebe? 

Viel Spaß beim Reinhören, ich schicke euch mindestens 1 Bussi.

Today, we have another friend from the Dirty Activist Group (still pending) joining us. She's fun, she's fresh, she's smort. For some reason, every time I said "Jim Jarmush", the microphone decided to get angry.

But, because Mariette is such a fan of "authentic speaking" (aka , stuttering, tripping over your tongue and "sorry, what?"), I decided to keep some of the little trips and slips in there. 

Also, because we're extra lucky today, she graces us with the gruesome story of Armin Meiwes, the Cannibal of Rotenburg.

I met Katie during an Evening With Dirty Activists (trademark pending). They noticed my twitch as gendered language was used, I noticed their pretty eyes when they asked me which pronouns I use. Was it love at first twitch? Sure. 

Katie is a badass superstar with the loveliest voice and accent (I may or may not have drooled a couple of times while editing this episode), and y'all should send them a shit-ton of love. And me, if you have some left. I may also go out on a limb here and say that they're the funniest guest I've ever had.

Hi Corony Ponies! 

Today's guest is Flo; a smart dude who's started to grow on me as a friend. 

Flo spent some time in the incel universe for investigative purposes, and since I'm weirdly obsessed with the movement, I tried to investigate his investigative investigation. I think our dynamic mostly consists of me getting angry and him saying that he appreciates our friendship. Even though we clash a lot on our opposing views, I think it's important to remember that ideas and opinions are not static, and can only be contested and challenged through exchange. So, I think it's safe to say he'll be a radical feminist by June.

We're finally back with an irl-episode! Well, were. The numbers in Austria are rising, so we made this happen just before this second lockdown. Today's guest is Hadri, our French-Mexican (Mexican-French) friend from high-school! And middle-school. And elementary school. And in my case, even pre-school. Oh, the things we did as 5-year-olds.

Anyway! Between my short temper, Vivi's love for the world, and Hadri's mediative feel, we ended up with a lukewarm debate about cultural appropriation, Columbus, and being "misraced". Mis- what? Listen to the episode, friend.

The first season  of Not so Whimsical was an absolute rollercoaster, whirlwind [add term, please], and I loved every second of it. 

After going on an un-announced hiatus, I'm back, baby! 

And joined by my lovely friends, Mathieu and Vivi. 

We put a lot of time, effort, and love into this, and we hope you enjoy the second season as much as we love making it.

Where was I, you ask? 

Right here, having a really hard time leaving the house. 

These things happen sometimes. 

I find it so important to create the best, non-half assed stuff - which is why I decided to take it easy and come back once this feels good again. 

I feel awesome because RASPUTIN!!!!! 

Abigail did such an amazing job with her presentation, and I'm so thankful she agreed to recording this episode with me. 

Some weird stuff happened that day: lots of creaking (we didn't do all of it, I swear!), weird bits of audio that were unusable, and so many interruptions... I blame it on him. 

Anyway, this episode concludes Season 1 of Not So Whimsical! I'm already working on another very exciting project, and I can't wait to announce what's coming!

After losing touch in Grammar School, we found each other again through our shared love for linguistics... And didn't see each other for another three years. But now we're here, yay! 

However, I must inform you that we might have resurrected the odd Siberian monk who was an advisor to the Romanoffs (I've decided to not say his name out loud for a while, until he calms down) - there was some highly disturbing background noise that I had to remove... 

Also, it was really hot when we recorded, so I left my windows open. Boohoo, I'm being followed by Rasputin's ghost, I have other things to worry about.
