QT is overrated and Ireland needs more SCI-FI

There's already one legendary Peter O'Toole in the history books. This one is making his own mark, one frame at a time, right in the heart of Dublin 15.

In this episode, we sit down with filmmaker Peter O'Toole, a Blanchardstown native whose creative journey began close to home and has taken him far beyond it. Peter studied Creative Digital Media at what was then the Institute of Technology Blanchardstown, literally up the road from where he grew up, on a hands-on course that covered everything from filmmaking and graphic design to audio, animation and the web. That was 2009. He hasn't stopped making things since.

We talk about what it means to grow up creative in Dublin 15, whether studying on your own doorstep was a choice or just convenient, and what college actually gives you that you can't teach yourself and what you have to figure out the hard way regardless.

Peter also lives by a motto that tells you everything about how he operates: "If you don't create it, someone else will." No waiting for permission. No perfect moment. Just get on with it.
