The Oilers are making roster moves + Frank Seravalli

The Edmonton Oilers preseason rolls on again tonight, as the Oilers are back at home to host the Vancouver Canucks at 7pm. With only 3 games left before the regular season opens up on October 9th, roster battles and lineup changes are being made left and right.

After a busy weekend in Oil country., the Oilers assigned Matthew Savoie down to Bakersfield, while returning 1st round pick Sam O'Reilly to the London Knights. Mike Hoffmans PTO is officially over, and a number of roster cuts were made as well. With surprising performances from the Oilers bottom six players, Tyler and Liam have plenty to discuss when it comes to who could be on the opening night roster.

Oilers win Game 1 of the NHL pre-season

The Edmonton Oilers beat the Winnipeg Jets last night 3-2 in overtime in there first pre-season game. There weren't many headliners in the Oilers lineup with players like Drake Cagguila, Ty Emberson and Collin Delia filling out the veteran roles. Sam O'Reilly and Matthew Savoie dressed to showcase the future in Edmonton. O'Reilly and Lavoie scored in regulation and Cam Dineen snapped home the overtime winner.

Breaking down the Edmonton Oilers schedule

Yesterday was an exciting day for Oil Country with the news that Leon Draisaitl was staying. The Edmonton Oilers superstar forward signed a new 8-year extension with an average annual value of $14 million, making him the highest paid player in the NHL. It was the final deal the Oilers needed to get done this summer so now the focus turns to training camp.

With the news Tyson Barrie was signing a professional tryout with the Calgary Flames, after being linked with a rumoured return back to Edmonton, who should the Oilers look to target for camp? There's been speculation on Justin Schultz and Kevin Shattenkirk but do they need to bring in a right handed defenceman or should they look somewhere else?

The Edmonton Oilers have made a ton of moves this summer; however, the deal fans want hasn't happened yet. Leon Draisaitl's next contract is still up in the air. Cody Ceci was traded a couple of weeks ago to the San Jose Sharks. The move opened up more cap space for the Oilers but how does this move benefit the Sharks? Welcome to another exciting episode of Oilersnation Everyday.

The Oilers had a busy Sunday and they prepare to make a decision on the Dylan Holloway and Philip Broberg offer sheets from the St Louis Blues.

The first trade came earlier in the day when they acquired Vasily Podkolzin from the Vancouver Canucks for a late round pick. The conversation immediate sparked to him being the replacement for Holloway, but will that be the case? David Quadrelli from Canucks Army joins the show to discuss what Podkolzin's time with the Canucks and how he can impact the Oilers lineup.

That wasn't it though for the Oilers. Later in the day, Cody Ceci was traded to the San Jose Sharks, along with a third round pick, for defenceman Ty Emberson. The move freed up a ton of cap space for the Oilers, which now makes the next day intriguing in regards to the future of Holloway and Broberg.

Oilers acquire Roby Jarventie from the Ottawa Senators

Jeff Jackson's busy off-season continued earlier today after making another deal with an Eastern Conference team.

The Edmonton Oilers acquired Roby Jarventie from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for former first round pick Xavier Bourgault and Jake Chiasson. Jarventie played seven games in the NHL after coming over from Finland in 2021. Bourgault, on the other hand, hadn't played a game in the NHL since getting drafted in 2021.

A week after a disappointing Game 7 loss, fans of the Edmonton Oilers were back to celebrating after a successful opening day of NHL free agency. Jeff Jackson, the interim general manager, went all in recruiting Viktor Arvidsson, Jeff Skinner and Josh Brown to the Oilers. Meanwhile, he also re-signed Mattias Janmark, Adam Henrique and Connor Brown making the forward group look dangerous heading into next season.

Jeff Jackson was busy bringing back Connor Brown on a 1 year $1 million deal too, along with a few minor league deals including the return of Noah Philp.

NHL Draft Day

Typically in Edmonton, the NHL Entry Draft is a major occasion for fans. However, after years of misery, the draft has become irrelevant in Oil Country with the goal now to chase Stanley Cups and not first overall picks.

The Oilers won't pick on day one after trading their 1st round pick to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for Adam Henrique and Sam Carrick. There first pick comes on day two at 63rd overall in the 2nd round. Additionally, they'll have a pick in 5th, two in the 6th and two in the 7th.

The Oilers fall in Game 7 versus the Panthers

The Edmonton Oilers quest for there sixth Stanley Cup came to an end last night. With goals from Carter Verhaeghe and Sam Reinhart, the Florida Panthers defeated the Oilers 2-1 in Game 7 to win their first Stanley Cup. Mattias Janmark scored the Oilers lone goal but it wasn't enough.

Liam Horrobin will go live today for Oilersnation Everyday to break down what happened in Game 7. The Edmonton Oilers look to win the Stanley Cup tonight versus the Florida Panthers. After losing the first three of games of the series, Edmonton has dragged themselves right back in to the Final winning three straight to force a Game 7. This is only the third time in NHL history that a team has forced a Game 7 after being down 3-0; however, only one has one. Can the Oilers become the second tonight?

The Edmonton Oilers forced Game 7 last night after beating the Florida Panthers 5-1. Connor McDavid was held pointless; however, the Oilers got contributions from Warren Foegele, Adam Henrique, Zach Hyman, Ryan McLeod and Darnell Nurse. Stuart Skinner was fantastic again keeping him perfect record from Games 5, 6 and 7 immaculate.

Liam Horrobin broke down everything that happened in Rogers Place last night and was joined by Cam Lewis, Zach Laing, and Aaron Bordato. Along with covering what happened in the rink, they talked about the vibes in the city following that Game 6 victory.

It's another do-or-die situation for the Edmonton Oilers. They'll go head-to-head with the Florida Panthers tonight at Rogers Place for Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final. Edmonton trailed 3-0 in the series; however, with wins in Game 4 and 5 they've dragged themselves back into the series.

It doesn't look like head coach Kris Knoblauch will make any lineup changes. With that said, he mentioned that Evander Kane is a game time decision but it still feels unlikely he plays. On the Panthers side, Nick Cousins will be the lone lineup change with Kyle Okposo sitting out.

The Edmonton Oilers beat the Florida Panthers last night 5-3 to force a Game 6 in the Stanley Cup Final. Connor McDavid lead the way with a four point performance, making him the first player in NHL history to have back-to-back four point games in the Stanley Cup Final. Stuart Skinner was also outstanding stopping 29 of the 32 shots he faced for a 0.902 save percentage.

The Edmonton Oilers got the job done last night with an 8-1 victory over the Florida Panthers. It was the franchises first Stanley Cup Final win since 2006 and also helped avoid the first final sweep since 1998. Now, the Oilers travel down to Florida for another do-or-die game.

Mattias Janmark lead the charge early with a shorthanded goal and then a primary assist on Adam Henrique's goal, which made it 2-0. The Oilers continued to poor on the offence with goals from Dylan Holloway, Connor McDavid and Darnell Nurse, which gave Paul Maurice no choice but to pull Sergei Bobrovsky. Zach Hyman, Ryan McLeod and another from Holloway closed out the scoring for what was a magnificent night at Rogers Place.

The Edmonton Oilers return to the Stanley Cup Final went from bad to worse last night. Despite a third period push, the Florida Panthers came away with a 4-3 win to take 3-0 series lead. A seven minute collapse by the Oilers in the second period was the difference with every mistake they made going in the back of the net.

Sergei Bobrovsky was the star of the show, again, denying the Oilers on many high danger chances. The Oilers stars couldn't find a way to beat the Panthers goaltender, despite Warren Foegele, Philip Broberg and Ryan McLeod all getting goals. Meanwhile, Florida's best players all got on the scoresheet yesterday with Sasha Barkov, Vladimir Tarasenko, Sam Reinhart and Sam Bennett scoring.

The Stanley Cup Final is back in Edmonton

The Stanley Cup Final has made its way back to Edmonton for the first time since 2006. Unfortunately, the Oilers are in a hole after dropping both games down in Sunrise, Florida. In Game 1, Sergei Bobrovsky stole the show stopping all 32 shots he faced for a 3-0 victory. Then in Game 2, the Oilers offence shrivelled up with Mattias Ekholm getting the only goal.

Returning home for two huge games versus the Panthers

The Edmonton Oilers trip down to Sunrise, Florida, couldn't have gone worse. In Game 1 they played well but couldn't beat Sergei Bobrovsky, who stopped all 32 shots he faced. Then in Game 2, there was a glimmer of hope when Mattias Ekholm scored to give the Oilers the lead. However, the belief fell apart after the Panthers scored four unanswered goals to seal the win.

Now, the Oilers head back home down 2-0 in the Stanley Cup Final. The last team to be down 2-0 in a Stanley Cup Final and win was the 2011 Boston Bruins. Can the Oilers now find their inner Bruin?

Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final didn’t go in favour of the Edmonton Oilers. Sergei Bobrovksy saved the day for the Florida Panthers stopping all 32 shots he faced.

Heading into tonight’s game in Sunrise, Florida, head coach Kris Knoblauch has made a couple of lineup changes. The major one is that Cody Ceci will sit, for the first time this postseason, and will be replaced by Vincent Desharnais. Evander Kane didn’t skate this morning but confirmed that he’ll play tonight. With that, either Warren Foegele and Sam Carrick will come out of the lineup.

The Stanley Cup Final finally got underway last night after a long five day wait. Unfortunately, the Edmonton Oilers came out on the wrong side of the result with the Florida Panthers taking Game 1 3-0.

Sergei Bobrovsky was the star of the show denying the Oilers on 32 occasions. Carter Verhaeghe, Evan Rodrigues and Eetu Luostarinen got the three goals for Florida.

Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin will go live for Oilersnation Everyday at noon on the Oilersnation YouTube channel. They’ll be joined by Jay Downton and Baggedmilk throughout the show as the four of them break down what happened in Game 1.

Frank Seravalli will also join the program to give his thoughts on last nights Game 1 loss. They’ll also chat about how the Oilers can bounce back in Game 2 and if he believes there should be lineup changes.

Lineup changes ahead of the Stanley Cup Final

The Edmonton Oilers quest for their sixth Stanley Cup, and first in the Connor McDavid era, starts on Saturday night in Sunrise, Florida. It's the first time since 2006 the Oilers have made the final two and, this time around, they're hoping there luck is better. They'll go up against the Florida Panthers, who are in the final for the second consecutive year. Last year, the Panthers lost to the Vegas Golden Knights in five games.

The Oilers were on the ice this morning in Edmonton ahead of their trip south. Evander Kane was absent from practice, which has been a recurring theme throughout the post season, so Warren Foegele skated in his place. Also, the bottom six was shaken up with Ryan McLeod and Corey Perry centring Derek Ryan/Sam Carrick, and then Mattias Janmark and Connor Brown on Adam Henrique's wings. The defensive pairings remained the same and Stuart Skinner was in the starters crease.

The Oilers are going to the Stanley Cup Final

The Edmonton Oilers advanced to the Stanley Cup Final last night after beating the Dallas Stars 2-1. The Oilers were out shot heavily, but two goals on the powerplay in the first period from Connor McDavid and Zach Hyman was all the offence they needed. While the offence was there for 60 minutes, Stuart Skinner was fantastic for the Oilers stopping 34 of 35 shots. He was only beaten by Mason Marchment after a bounce of the back borders.

Now, the Oilers take on the Florida Panthers with game 1 starting on Saturday in Fort Lauderdale. The Panthers are in the Stanley Cup Final after beating the New York Rangers in six games, ending it on Saturday night on home ice. Edmonton and Florida have faced each other twice this season with the Panthers taking both games.

The Edmonton Oilers flipped the script last night. After trailing 2-0 early in the first period, the Oilers fought there way back tying the game at two before the end of the period. Then continued score three more to beat the Dallas Stars 5-2. You may remember on Monday night, Edmonton dropped a 2-0 lead which ultimately cost them the game.

The Oilers got five goals from five different players including Ryan McLeod, who returned to the lineup after missing game 3. Inserting McLeod back into the lineup wasn't the only successful move Kris Knoblauch made last night with Philip Broberg and Corey Perry also having strong games.

Game 4 versus the Dallas Stars

Game 4 goes down tonight at Rogers Place as the Edmonton Oilers look to tie up the Western Conference Final at 2-2. They had a great chance to take a 2-1 series lead over the Dallas Stars on Monday night; however, a Jason Robertson hat trick in the final 40 minutes prevented that and gave the Stars a 5-3 win.

How will things change tonight? Well, Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch hinted at a couple of possiblities. He suggested that Ryan McLeod will be inserted back into the lineup and also that changes could happen on the blueline. That change could be the addition of Philip Broberg as a replacement for Vincent Descharnais or Cody Ceci.

Heading into tonight, head coach Kris Knoblauch is expected to go with the same lineup that has won three straight games. However, there is the lingering question of Adam Henrique’s availability. Knoblauch stated yesterday that Henrique could be available and his health is back close to 100%. If he does draw into the lineup who comes out?

The Edmonton Oilers came into Dallas and stole Game 1 last night thanks to a double overtime winner from Connor McDavid. The Oilers did hold a 2-0 lead in the second period thanks to goals from Leon Draisaitl and Zach Hyman; however, a couple of fortunate bounces from that fell to Tyler Seguin allowed the Stars to tie the game up. Nevertheless, Edmonton found a way to go up 1-0 in the Western Conference Finals.

Along with the McDavid winner, there were plenty of storylines from last night. Stuart Skinner was fantastic between the pipes with a 0.939 save percentage, which was arguably his best game of the playoffs. Additionally, the penalty kill was perfect with huge contributions from the bottom six. Also, the Oilers stars managed to outshine Dallas' top players.

The Edmonton Oilers are back in the Western Conference Finals for the second time in the past three years. They're down in the Lone Star state, Texas, to go head-to-head with the Dallas Stars. The Stars and Oilers haven't met in the postseason since 2003 when Dallas advanced. They've met eight times in the postseason throughout there history with the Stars winning six of them.

Game 1 gets underway tonight at the American Airlines Centre. The Oilers aren't expecting to make any lineup changes after beating the Vancouver Canucks in game 7. On the other side, Dallas are without Roope Hintz, who hasn't played since game 4 of the second round versus the Colorado Avalanche. Additionally, Jake Oettinger left practice yesterday with an illness; however, it is expect he still plays tonight.

The Edmonton Oilers are one day away from taking on the Dallas Stars on the road. The Oilers and Stars have a history of going head-to-head in the postseason. Unfortunately, the series has gone more in favour of the Stars/North Stars than the Oilers with six wins out of eight wins going to the opposition. There last meeting was in 2003 so plenty has changed for both franchises since then.

Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin will get you prepared for the Western Conference Finals today on Oilersnation Everyday. They'll go live at noon only on the Oilersnation YouTube channel. The Oilers advance to the Western Conference Final

The Edmonton Oilers advanced to the Western Conference Final last night after defeating the Vancouver Canucks 3-2 in game 7. It is the second time in three years the Oilers have advanced to the final four with there last coming in 2022 when they lost to the Colorado Avalanche.

Last night, the Oilers didn't make it easy on themselves, despite having a 3-0 lead with less than 10 minutes to play. Cody Ceci, Zach Hyman and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins gave the Oilers what was thought to be a comfortable lead; however, a turnover from Ryan McLeod lead to a Conor Garland goal. Then shortly after, Filip Hronek brought the Canucks within one. Fortunately, Edmonton was able to hang on to move on and face the Dallas Stars.

Game 7 versus the Canucks

The Edmonton Oilers head into game 7 tonight versus the Vancovuer Canucks at Rogers Arena, after a 5-1 victory in game 6. The last time Edmonton was in a game 7 they beat the Los Angeles Kings 2-0 in 2022. As for the Canucks, it was in Edmonton in the bubble versus the Vegas Golden Knights when they lost 3-0.

Before talking about tonight, Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin will dive into what happened in game 6. The Oilers showed up in a big way with Dylan Holloway setting the tone with a fantastic goal in the first period. The Canucks responded but the Oilers took full control after that with goals from Zach Hyman, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Evan Bouchard and Evander Kane. While the stars didn't show up in game 5, they sure did in game 6 but the question remains will they in game 7?

Oilers fall in game 5 versus the Canucks

The Edmonton Oilers fell 3-2 to the Vancouver Canucks last night after JT Miller scored with less than a minute to play in the third period. It is now the second time in this series that the Oilers have held a two or more goal lead and lost the game.

Evander Kane and Mattias Janmark scored the two goals for the Oilers; however, a lack of scoring from the stars on the powerplay prevented the Oilers from taking the series lead. Calvin Pickard played outstanding between the pipes stopping 32 of the 35 shots he faced.

Game 6 is this Saturday in what is now an unexpected elimination game for the Edmonton Oilers. What do they need to do to survive? The Edmonton Oilers hit the road tonight for game 5 of their best of seven series versus the Vancouver Canucks. The series is tied at two after Evan Bouchard scored a late winner on Tuesday giving the Oilers a 3-2 win. Last time in Vancouver, Bouchard scored the game winner that night too tying the series up at one each. They'll be looking for another game winning goal tonight as they seek out their first lead of the series.

The burning question heading into game 5 is who starts between the pipes for the Oilers? Does Calvin Pickard maintain the crease after his performance in game 4 or does Kris Knoblauch turn back to Stuart Skinner, who has been their start all season.

Oilers win and Zack Kassian joins the show

The Edmonton Oilers didn't make it easy on themselves but they came away with a victory in game 4 to tie the series at two. The Oilers lead for the majority of the game with goals Leon Draisaitl and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. The Vancouver Canucks continued to push until the end with two third period goals from Conor Garland and Dakota Joshua. When the game seemed bound for overtime, Evan Bouchard restored the Oilers lead giving the home team the lead with less than 40 seconds to play.

Calvin Pickard played a huge role in yesterday's victory too. The Oilers goaltender stopped 19 of the 21 shots he faced and stopped denied the Canucks on some top chances. The questions is now, will head coach Kris Knobluach start him in game 5? Calvin Pickard starts Game 4 versus the Canucks

The Edmonton Oilers are heading into game 4 down 2-1 after losing 4-3 on Sunday night. Stuart Skinner was pulled after allowing four goals on 11 shots in two periods. The burning question heading into tonights action was does Kris Knoblauch turn to him again? The answer is no. Calvin Pickard gets the nod tonight in what will be his first career playoff start.

Pickard has been reliable for the Oilers all season. Since being called up from the Bakersfield Condors in place of Jack Campbell, Pickard had a 0.909 save percentage and a 2.45 goals against average in 23 games, along with a shutout.

The Edmonton Oilers fumbled the chance to win on home ice last night falling 4-3 to the Vancouver Canucks. Stuart Skinner played a big role in the loss and not in a good way. The Oilers netminder stopped only 11 of the 15 shots he faced and was pulled after 40 minutes.

Heading into game 4, there are many questions lingering over the Oilers lineup. Should Skinner start the next game? Should Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid play separately? Waiting for our Round 2 opponents

The Edmonton Oilers could find out who they take on in Round 2 tonight when the Vancouver Canucks and Nashville Predators go head-to-head. If the Canucks win, then the Round 2 matchup locks in; however, if the Predators manage to pull off another win then Game 7 goes on Sunday.

Until then, let's continue to talk about the Oilers first round win over the Los Angeles Kings. Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin go live on the Oilersnation YouTube for Oilersnation Everyday. The Edmonton Oilers took care of business in Game 5 versus the Los Angeles Kings. A 4-3 win helped them move onto round two after beating the Kings 4-1 for the third year in the row. Leon Draisaitl lead the way with a pair of goals taking his tally to five in the series. Zach Hyman and Evander Kane also got in on the action helping the Oilers secure the victory.

Preparing for Game 5 versus the Kings

The Edmonton Oilers return home tonight for a Game 5 match up versus the Los Angeles Kings. The Oilers went on the road over the weekend and brought back two wins to take a 3-1 series lead. A win tonight sees them through to the second round for the third year in a row to take on either the Vancouver Canucks or Nashville Predators.

Heading into Game 5, it looks like head coach Kris Knoblauch has made some adjustments to his lineup. Dylan Holloway has been elevated to the third line after another strong performance in Game 4. Meanwhile, Warren Foegele, who has struggled to find his game in the series so far, found himself on the fourth line at practice yesterday alongside Mattias Janmark and Derek Ryan. Everything else looks to be staying the same.

The Oilers take Game 4 on the road versus the Kings

The Edmonton Oilers shutout the Los Angeles Kings last night 1-0 in Game 4 to take a 3-1 series lead. Evan Bouchard scored the lone goal of the game, which came on the powerplay in the second period. That's all the Oilers needed offensively with Stuart Skinner playing rock solid between the pipes, stopping all 33 shots he faced for his first career postseason shutout.

The Edmonton Oilers took care of business with ease on Friday night. With goals from Connor McDavid, Evander Kane, Leon Draisaitl and Zach Hyman, twice, the Oilers came away with a 6-1 victory over the Los Angeles Kings. The win helped them regain the series lead after dropping Game 2 in overtime on Wednesday at Rogers Place.

Tonight, Edmonton looks to take a stranglehold on the series. The puck drops around 8:30 p.m mountain time for Game 4 down at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. While there aren't many question marks surrounding the Oilers lineup, many are wondering what the Kings do heading into tonight. The Oilers have now scored four or more goals on Cam Talbot in every game so is it time LA switch the David Rittich?

The Edmonton Oilers and Los Angeles Kings are tied up at one piece with game three on the horizon. The Kings took game two in what was a disappointing game for the Oilers. Edmonton spotted LA a 3-1 lead after 20 minutes and, despite forcing the game to overtime, the Kings came away with a 5-4 victory.

How will the Oilers change things tonight? Last game, it was the Adrien Kempe-Anze Kopitar-Quinton Byfied trio that dominated the Oilers. They scored three of the five goals, including the overtime winner. A major key to victory is finding a way to shutdown that trio. Additionally, will the Oilers stars show up line in game three? The video game mode aspect of Connor McDavid's game showed up on Monday but couldn't find that same groove on Wednesday.

The Edmonton Oilers we're looking to go up 2-0 in their first round series against the LA Kings last night. Unfortunately, that didn't go to plan as the Oilers would eventually lose in Overtime on an Anze Kopitar breakaway.

Dylan Holloway shined with two goals, the Oilers showed plenty of fight, but Stuart Skinner would continue to struggle in the crease allowing 5 goals on 26 shots.

Sportsnet analyst, and former Edmonton Oiler Luke Gazdic pops by to break down the game last night, and discuss whether or not he'd consider making any changed to the lineup before Game 3.

Time for game two versus the Kings

The Edmonton Oilers grabbed the first blow in their round one series versus the Los Angeles Kings on Monday night. The Oilers offence put seven by the Kings in a 7-2 victory, including three goals from Zach Hyman. That game, Connor McDavid became the first player in over 25 years to collect five assists on one playoff game.

Can the Oilers match that same performance tonight in game two? The puck drops at 8:00 pm mountain time and you'd have to imagine the Kings come out with more fight than earlier in the week. The Oilers are going with the same lineup but the glaring question is who does Los Angeles go with between the pipes?

The Oilers take game one versus the Kings

The Edmonton Oilers took game one last night versus the Los Angeles Kings, which was there first game one victory since 2017 when they beat the Anaheim Ducks. Right from the opening puck drop, Edmonton was the most determined and they did not look back from there.

Zach Hyman scored his first career hat trick, which matched is total from last playoffs. Adam Henrique, Leon Draisaitl, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Warren Foegele all grabbed goals in the 7-4 victory in game one. Last night, Connor McDavid dominated the game picking up five assists, which now leads the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Finishing the regular season versus the Avalanche

It was an emotional night at the Mullett Arena last night between the Edmonton Oilers and the Arizona Coyotes. The Coyotes are Utah bound and last night ended their stay in the desert. However, they at least managed to send their fans home somewhat happy defeating the Oilers 5-2.

Liam O'Brien got the scoring started with his 5th of the season. Then Lawson Crouse, Matias Maccelli, Dylan Guenther and Sean Durzi all got in on the action for their final goals in Arizona. The Oilers countered with goals from Sam Carrick and Warren Foegele, which was his 20th of the season, but it wasn't enough.

Connor McDavid scores his 100th assist of the season

The Edmonton Oilers took care of business last night defeating the San Jose Sharks with ease. The Oilers scoring nine goals in the first 40 minutes to win the game 9-2. Connor McDavid returned to the lineup and picked up 100th assist of the season, making his the fourth player in the NHL to hit that mark. He joins Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux and Bobby Orr as the only players to score 100 assists in a single season.

Darnell Nurse, Adam Henrique and Dylan Holloway all had three point nights with Holloway and Henrique each grabbing a goal. Warren Foegele, Evan Bouchard, Zach Hyman, Corey Perry, Cody Ceci and McDavid each contributed a goal to the final score too.

Taking on the Sharks after a bad weekend

Life without Connor McDavid wasn't good this weekend for the Edmonton Oilers. On Friday, they dropped a 3-2 decision to the Arizona Coyotes in overtime and followed that up with a 3-1 loss to the Vancouver Canucks, which ultimately ended any hope of winning the Pacific Division.

Tonight, Edmonton gets a chance to bounce back when they face the San Jose Sharks, the worst team in the NHL. The Sharks has won three of their last ten games with a couple of wins over the St Louis Blues and the Seattle Kraken. The last time these two teams met Edmonton beat the Sharks 5-0 in San Jose.

Later in the program, the guys are joined by two former NHLers. First Jason Demers makes his weekly appearance. With the former Oiler, they'll talk about life without Connor McDavid, planning for the Los Angeles Kings in round one and his thoughts ahead of tonights game in San Jose.

The Coyotes final trip to Edmonton

The Edmonton Oilers are back on the ice tonight to take on the Arizona Coyotes at Rogers Place. However, Connor McDavid likely won't play again after missing the game on Wednesday in a 5-1 win over the Vegas Golden Knights. Despite possibly missing tonight's game, there is still a chance fans see him on Saturday versus the Vancouver Canucks.

Tonights game is the Yotes fourth of a five game round trip around Western Canadian and California. On Wednesday, Dylan Guenther lead the way in a 4-3 overtime for Arizona versus the Canucks. The former Edmonton Oil King finished the night with four points including an assist on Logan Cooley's overtime winner.

Later in the program, former Edmonton Oilers forward Luke Gazdic joins the show at 12:20. With Luke, the guys will talk about Wednesday's impressive 5-1 win over Vegas without McDavid and how he thing the team adapted without him. Additionally, the guys will go around the NHL with him talking about the Arizona Coyotes relocation, Mark Stone returning to practice and the Flyers collapse in the Eastern Conference Finals.

The Oilers beat the Golden Knights 5-1 without McDavid

The Edmonton Oilers took care of business last night despite Connor McDavid missing from there lineup. The Oilers defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 5-1 to extend their win streak to three. Additionally, the Vancouver Canucks lost against the Arizona Coyotes in overtime yesterday, which narrows the gap to four with five games to play for Edmnonton.

Cody Ceci, Mattias Ekholm, Zach Hyman and Leon Draisaitl all snapped home goals last night. Also, Dylan Holloway scored in his return to the lineup after capitalizing on a mistake from Adin Hill. Stuart Skinner was excellent between the pipes too, stopping 19 of the 20 shots he faced.

Taking on the Golden Knights likely without McDavid

The Edmonton Oilers are back on the ice at Rogers Place tonight to face the Vegas Golden Knights. The Oilers haven't played since Saturday when they defeated the Calgary Flames 4-2 on the road. Despite those days off, Edmonton's schedule the remainder of the week is hectic with the Arizona Coyotes and the Vancouver Canucks coming to town over the weekend.

Before getting to those games, it's time to focus on tonight. The Golden Knights are coming into Edmonton off the back of two disappointing losses. On Friday night, they blew a 4-1 lead in the third period and allowed the Coyotes to score six goals in the final frame. Blowing leads transferred over to their game on Monday night against Vancouver too when they feel 4-3, after leading 3-2.

Holloway gets recalled & Demers joins the show

The Edmonton Oilers needed the Vegas Golden Knights beat the Vancouver Canucks last night; however, that unfortunately was not the case. The Canucks rallied from two goals down to beat the Golden Knights to win 4-3. With that win, Vancouver increased their cushion to five points over the Oilers for first in the Pacific Division.

Nevertheless, the race for the Pacific is still up for grabs. All Edmonton needs to do is keep winning and that starts tomorrow when they welcome the Golden Knights to Rogers Place. Edmonton and Vegas last met at Rogers Place in November when the Oilers won 5-4 in a shootout.

Ahead of that game, the Oilers have recalled Dylan Holloway from the Bakersfield Condors. Since being set down at the trade deadline, Holloway scored ten goals and 16 points in 18 games whilst down in the American Hockey League. Now he's back with the Oilers, where does he slot into the lineup?

Later in the show, former Edmonton Oilers defenceman Jason Demers joining the episode. With the two of them, Tyler and Liam will ask them about the race for the Pacific Division, how Dylan Holloway should be distributed and the Oilers upcoming games versus the Vegas Golden Knights and Vancouver Canucks.

The race for the Pacific Division is back on

It was a fantastic weekend for the Edmonton Oilers grabbing back-to-back wins over the Colorado Avalanche and Calgary Flames. After their four point weekend, the Oilers now sit three points behind the Vancouver Canucks for first in the Pacific Division.

Victory over the Avalanche came first for the Oilers. Edmonton put six by Alexander Georgiev including a couple from Evander Kane, who ended his career long goalless drought. On Saturday night, it was a tighter game versus the Flames at the Saddledome; however, with a goals from Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Evan Bouchard, Connor Brown and Leon Draisaitl, the Oilers won the game 4-2.

Back home to face the Avalanche

The Edmonton Oilers get back on home ice tonight as they welcome the Colorado Avalanche to Rogers Place. The Oilers are looking for a win after dropping their last two games on the road versus the St Louis Blues and Dallas Stars.

It was a tight contest the last time Edmonton and Colorado met. The game was tied 2-2 after 60 minutes but, unfortunately, the Oilers couldn't grab the extra point. Artturi Lehkonen scored the overtime winner with 0.5 seconds remaining to secure maximum points for the road team.

A brutal night versus the Stars

The Edmonton Oilers second game of their four game road trip couldn't have gone worse.

Down in Dallas last night, the Oilers were blanked 5-0 to the Stars after Jake Oettinger made 35 stops for his third shutout of the year. The scored started early when Radek Faksa beat Calvin Pickard for his 7th of the season, after capitalzing from a turnover. The game was even for a while and then Dallas scored four goals in a six minute span, putting an end to any hopes of victory for the Oilers. Tyler Seguin got the second goal and was quickly followed by goals from Wyatt Johnston, Jamie Benn, and Sam Steel.

Taking on the Dallas Stars

The Edmonton Oilers look to get back in the win column tonight when they take on the Dallas Stars. Tonight is the Oilers second game of a four game road trip, after losing in overtime on Monday night 3-2 to the St Louis Blues. The last time Edmonton visited Dallas, Evan Bouchard scored in the overtime winner in what was an exciting 4-3 contest.

The Oilers are still in the hunt for first in the Pacific Division, especially after last nights results. The Vancouver Canucks fell 6-3 to the Vegas Golden Knights on the road, after a three point performances from Jonathan Marchessault. A win tonight for pushes the gap to three for first in the division with eight games remaining for the Oilers.

The Oilers score four but lose 3-2 versus the Blues

The Edmonton Oilers three game win streak came to an end last night. However, it wasn't all bad with the Copper and Blue still managing to grab an overtime losers point.

Mattias Ekholm stayed red hot finishing the game with a pair of points, including the opening goal. Evander Kane and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins both thought they had extended the Oilers lead, but the officials had a different plan. The score remained 1-0, both goals were disallowed, then Brayden Schenn scored a pair to give the Blues a 2-1 lead in the third period. Edmonton's stars pulled through when Connor McDavid set up Leon Draisaitl sending the game to overtime. Unfortunately, Brandon Saad ended the game giving St Louis the win.

Hitting the road for four games & Gazdic joins the show

The Edmonton Oilers hit the road for the four games starting tonight when they take on the St Louis Blues. Edmonton had a tough game in St Louis last time out with the Blues coming away with two points. With a win tonight, the Oilers can close the gap on the Vancouver Canucks four, with a game against them still on the schedule.

However, before diving into that game, Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin will recap what happened over the weekend. The Anaheim Ducks were in town and it didn't take long for Edmonton to take over the game. Adam Henrique got the scoring started against his former team, which was then followed by five unanswered goals from Connor McDavid twice, Mattias Ekholm, Zach Hyman, and Warren Foegele. Alex Killorn scored late for Anaheim to end Calvin Pickard's shutout bid; however, the Oilers netminder still made 21 saves in the game.

A huge game ahead versus the Kings

The Edmonton Oilers grabbed a much needed win over the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday night. After going down 1-0 on the road, Edmonton took control of the game, minus a three minute blimp in the third period, and came away with maximum points. That win extended the cushion over the Los Angeles Kings to three in the Pacific Division.

Tonight, the two divisional rivals go head-to-head tonight at Rogers Place. The Kings have found a winning rhythm as of late going 7-3-0 in there last ten with wins over the Vancouver Canucks, Minnesota Wild and the Tampa Bay Lightning. Edmonton and Los Angeles have battled three times this season with tonight being the final fight, until a potential playoff tilt. Last time, the Oilers came away with a 4-2 victory with Evan Bouchard, Leon Draisaitl, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Zach Hyman all scoring.

Later in the show, Tyler and Liam will take you around the NHL and give you an update on the playoff picture. There are 14 games on the NHL slate tonight with many important games on the schedule. The Vegas Golden Knights look to put Winnipeg on a five game losing streak, the St Louis Blues hoping to get back in the win column at home to Calgary, and also the New York Rangers take on the Colorado Avalanche in a potential Stanley Cup Final preview.
