Moreover, 'vulnerability' is becoming an increasingly important concept within EU law and decision-making. Yet, realities on the ground are marked by social arrangements where lives are de facto unequally protected. He has been a criminologist for 30 years and has worked extensively on issues associated with crime prevention, community safety and policing in Australia, the UK and Republic of Ireland. Rick has published over 60 government reports, book chapters and journal articles on a range of issues including antisocial behaviour, arson, burglary, CCTV, community justice, drink driving, implementing crime prevention, organised crime, policing and vehicle crime.
