DISCLAIMER: Episode 88 didn't record audio. This is the description of the previous episode. The party travels towards a spire sticking out of the ground. Upon inspection they find others have dug out this area. They decide to investigate. Inside they find that this used to be apart of a floating city in ancient times. They find someone that Opal knew in her past self. This person is trapped here and asks the party for help. The head out of the spire and follow the tracks of the Orcs.

They are lead to the ice wall and a section of it that has been carved out of it. They head inside. One inside they find ancient automatons and history regarding the old floating city. They discover that orcs have made a home here, and are trying to bring back this ancient city. The party discusses what to do.

The party waits for a dragon. They don't wait long, before she arrives. Alia asks the dragon about her history, but is interrupted as Ren insists she gives blood to save his family. Negotiations turn south and they start a fight with the dragon. While fighting, the party can't make up their mind on what to do with the dragon and end of fighting each other. Disagreements ensue. Eventually Ren gets enough blood for to save his family. He gives his sister some of the blood. A horrifying transformation occurs.

Upon inspecting the area they discover the area inhabited. The party waits for the dragon. While waiting, they explore the area and find locals that love to play games in the snow.

The party having broken the charm, learns the couple is not what they seem.

When they return home, Elise asks to join the party on the next mission.

The Last Bastion Part 9: A Seperated Love

After defeating the Kikimore queen and the remaining creatures, the party takes time to explore the tower. They discover evidence that it once belonged to Graybeard and that he had been working with The Affinity. From afar, they spot a blue beam shooting into the sky. Suddenly, Hairy opens a teleportation circle and is pulled through, prompting the party to follow him and Sunflower. However, they are separated in the process. Mage and T, whose real name is Roxi, find themselves near a lake where a giant hand emerges from the water. They build a shelter from the storm, during which Roxi learns she once loved someone named Holmen. Meanwhile, Newman and Lenses are transported to the Heated City. Newman discovers he has a family and that he is a wanted man, causing him to flee from Lenses to his home. Lenses also learns that he had a relationship with Roxi, and had been in a fight. As the night falls, everyone finds rest and experiences a vision of Malm and Marcus, which ends with Malm's death. Roxi is then tempted by a sinister voice coming from within Mage's shield but is saved by a unicorn, who cryptically hints that they must face a great evil ahead.

They are soon confronted with one of the Kikimore feasting on a Displacer Beast. T unable to control her blood lust is thrown into a feral state as she enjoys her feast.

The Last Bastion Part 5: Heroes

The party is met on their way back from the stronghold, with Mazzit being held at knife point. His captor demands his questions be answered. Shortly following a fight breaks out. During the fight Mazzit is slain. The group nearly overran, is left alone after Odo a wizard casts time stop and give an offer for the party to join The Affinity. The party is able to revive Mazzit. The party travels back to town and heals the goblin's sister. They are soon greeted with food and a new invitation to help save the town.

The Last Bastion Part 4: Turning Dials

Having completed the stronghold's puzzle, the party find an ancient mace tucked away. On their way back to the village, they are ambushed by members of The Affinity.

The Last Bastion Part 3: The Voice

After entering the stronghold of the Order of the Peridots, T discovers a new ability to shapeshift into metal animals, raising deeper questions about the party's true nature. The group uncovers several mysterious rods linked to something within the stronghold, leading them to split up to explore further. Lens and Hairy stumble upon an ancient training dummy and a floating orb that reveals a vision of the events that led to the Order's destruction. Meanwhile, Sunflower and Newman have a tense encounter with some local goblin children, nearly killing them in surprise. Mage and T explore desecrated, empty rooms, eventually finding an elevator that descends to the stronghold's inner sanctum. Here, they find more signs of death and destruction, along with a diary belonging to the perpetrator. The final entry ominously reads, 'I write this knowing full well the atrocities I have committed…'

The Last Bastion Part 2: Identities

The party having escaped the garden, find themselves outside a tavern called "Three Spittin' Heifers". Upon entering they soon learn that Newman had been a regular here under the name of "Whiskey Jack", and that the last time he was here had racked up a large tab that needed to be paid. After refusing to pay Newman is kicked out of the tavern. The rest of the party enjoy their food and drinks while making conversation with the barkeep. They learn about Mage's armor that it belong to a group of paladins long ago. Lenses learns that the voice in his head is his brother who had been trapped in their after the events that had lead to the parties memory loss. They also learn that a group known as The Affinity is after Sunflower, or Master Marielle. They travel to the nearby town of Beggars Tree and enter the old stronghold of the paladin order known as the Peridots.

The Last Bastion Part 1: Picking Up The Pieces

In this first part of the mini series "The Last Bastion" The players Chase, Joy, Tori, Kyle, Brandon, and Faith's characters wake up to find themselves in a garden. They soon realize they have no memories of who they are, how they got there, and what they can do. With only some items on the ground to go off of, the players soon choose names for their new characters, Lenses, T, Mage, Sunflower, Hairy, and Newman respectively. Shortly afterwards, Lenses Hears a voice in his head followed by another outside. Elara a young woman trapped by a hag, to tend her garden asks the party if they can help her escape. The party cautious, agrees and is soon face to face with the hag.

The Vigils, with the help of the elven leaders, make a plan to save the Coldstone residents. Affected by the loss of their sweet boy, Barren, Pinky begins her extreme mourning ceremony. Opal tries to cheer her up, but Pinky needs the time to process. Ren went to the fourth leader of the elven community of Valenwood, discovered that he was a dragon, and was given the information he sought. He must find the blood of an Ice Dragon and give it to his family to drink. A vision of the distant past explains the history of Barren's amulet.

The Vigils arrive at the gate and start assisting to protect it from the orcs coming from above, but the defense turns south as most of the party goes down. Pinky helps Opal up, and Opal, feeling a divine presence, helps Adilaide. Unable to stop their foes, the Vigils retreat to the other side of the town, but not before they lose Barren. As he is being Stabbed through the heart, he ignites a stick of arcane dynamite and collapses the gate. With the orcs still pursuing, Adilade reaches the moonlight spilling out from the full moon and, with Yaelfath's assistance, opens a portal for the townspeople to escape. Yaelfath teleports the people to Valenwood, the Elven Community high above Coldstone

As the group reaches the town, they help defend a section of the wall that is attacked by orcs on flying mounts. They clear the wall to see the other orcs burning the town with alchemist's fire from above and heading for the Western Gate and the Barren Lord's house. After warming themselves in the Tavern, the Party, along with Valencia, Cragborn, and Momouw (the Tower Vigils), sneak out of the city wall while Pinky gives a distraction. Opal listens in on a cryptic message from a leader Orc, and the party sees a strike force of mounted Orcs atop giant bats heading toward the town. Opal sees that the leader has half of his face turned black as the eye shines like a star, the same way the Demon Kruvust under Havnok looked.

C2E50: The Starving Man

The aftermath of their encounter with the Roc is felt throughout the party. Moss particularly has a changing experience as his condition worsens due to his natural body failing. Left broken by the realization that his body isn't solely his own anymore, the secret of his magic is revealed. The Vigils continue through the canyons and slopes dominating the base of the Grey Mountains and find a small settlement named Grey Rock Mining Outpost. The village is seemingly empty, with no person left, though the town looks to not be ransacked. While searching, the party encounters Gwendolyn, the Tsigani Archivist they had met in Havnok. She explains that she is also investigating the townspeople's disappearance and joins the party to aid in the search. While investigating, Alia comes across a journal detailing what had happened to the village; the same humanoid creature that had consumed Alia's Father had found her scent and eaten this village while in the area. The party tries to run out of the area only to behold the Roc they had fought the previous day, to be consumed in the blink of an eye. They run down the mountain and seek refuge in the mine. While there Adilaide casts Leomund's Tiny Hut, and the party tries to find a way out of the situation. Gwendolyn suggests sending Alia to the Tsigani to discover more about this creature pursuing her and get her as far away as possible. She is sent away just as this invisible starving man finds them. after her departure, they are left alone. Gwendolyn suggests Moss travel with her as she may have a way for him to regain all he has lost.

Having been able to avoid the Roc twice, the party pushes forward, trying to reach the safety of the mountain valleys. The party suffers from clashes with the Roc and the exhaustion of trying to outrun it. They eventually can't run any farther and have to face the creature. The party is able to fend off and Alia saves Opal and Ren from the Belly of the Bird.

With their work done in Ren's home village and having capitalized on the opportunity to interrogate a dead mind flayer, the party leaves off towards the Grey Mountains. After a few weeks of travel, the party finds themselves traveling along a savanna grassland a day out from the mountains. Above them, they spot a bird circling overhead. To their dismay, the bird dives and approaches at an alarming rate. Being gigantic, its easy to tell that they are being pursued by a Roc.

Upon retreating a safe distance from the village, the group makes preparations and unstops the bottle, releasing a Mind Flayer. Not completely understanding the creature, the group tries to communicate with it, but once they realize the foulness of the creature, they put a swift end to it. Upon returning to the Ba'wouli, Ren is finally able to secure rest for his dying mother in the flask, at least he hopes.

The Vigils travel one day out to find the item promised to Ren by Yoko. They find a wrecked ship infested with sea spawns. After defeating them, the party finds a chest containing a Triquetra Iron Flask. Upon returning to Ba'wouli, Ren supplicates with his new patron and receives details on how to contain his mother inside the Flask, but first, he must cleanse it out of its current inhabitant.

Having caught the attention of the Usurper, Ren and Yoko form a pact and Ren is given the first clue to prolonging his Mother's life. Ren is marked with Lightning patterns around his eyes. Opal, recognizing the influence of an extra-planar entity, warns Ren that she will fulfill her Oath to keep his patron off the Prime Material Plane. Opal struggles to choose whether to follow her heart or what she perceives as her duty. Ren and the group make preparations to find a magical item that should aid his mother.Adelaide is able to help Opal have the courage to choose her own path.

With the hand off of Wakeen to Grigri, the party of Vigils prepares to join the Yoko Festival in Ba'wouli, a celebration of a God known as one of the Usurpers in the rest of Yavna. Ren, who has been helping his family all day, discusses with his sister, Tehenna, the symptoms of her curse. The celebration starts and the Vigils take part. Ren and Tehenna beseech Yoko through the Dance of Bacia and Yoko. Yoko's aspect appears to both of them.

Leaving Ren to take care of his family, the party known as Donnie and the Oozemans set out to find a potential Vigil to send back with Grigri, all while performing empathy training set up by Opal and Adilaide. Eventually, a suitable Bullywug man named Wakeen was found and agreed to become a Vigil if the party could kill off some monsters he's been keeping away from the surrounding villages. The party was successful in defeating the Chull monsters.

The Vigils make their way back to Fel-sou, where they each have time to look for items and recharge. Adilaide got a Belt of Dragon-kind, Opal got a statuette that summons a white raven named Misty, and Ren is the proud owner of a slightly cursed foldable boat. More is revealed about Moss, specifically his true age. Barren gets stuck behind because of his missing pendant. The group continues settling back at the Lighthouse and accomplishing small tasks. Moss and Ren meet with Illain, who supplies more information about Ren's family curse and a possible lead. Barren and his sister exchange gifts. Barren is finally introduced to Donnie. To get their pay released, they submit the party name of "Donnie and the Oozemans."

The Cat-man named Zemmerek discusses their next move with Barren as he hunts them because of their desecration of the site. Adelaide has a stern talk with Pablo and the Party starts their travel back to home.

The undead Ayocuan attacks the party as they enter his resting place. Throughout the fight, the wight seems to target Barren the most almost killing him and moss in the fight. Eventually though, the party destroyed the undead as Barren finishes him off. Upon completion of the fight Barren finds a amulet similar to the one he put on previously and finds it an impossible task. Moss takes the extra amulet and a curse of some time rest upon the two. The party continues to explore their way through the dungeon.

C2E35: Kiki, do you love me?

Upon entering this ancient temple, the party finds themselves in an entrance room with dioramas of the ancient civilization's life and beliefs. Each diorama has miniatures of people and some animals, of which Pinky promptly takes twelve. Alia is able to find a key on one of the figurines and a keyhole in the keystone above the next door leading further in. As soon as the key is turned, the outside door slams shut. After getting past a trap, the party met Pish-ba-ba, a large crayfish, who warned them about the sacred mud and the guardian. After Opal found a way to communicate with him, she asked to talk to the guardian. Kiki, the hermit crab guardian, who turned out to be a big flirt. The party made their way to The Lord of the Snails, beat him up, and almost took his "thing." With The Lord of the Snail's help, they found a burial site, and after Baren disturbed it, they fell into a pit with something undead, happy to see them.

Continuing down the underground river, the party eventually reaches a pier with a wooden dock and a boat still attached. The party investigates the area and determines it to be the escape route for the Hav, the people captured, and Vance to flee. The boat had been booby-trapped by Vance and became damaged, so the Vigils built a ship out of the Dock itself. Later on, as the party rests, Alia reveals more of her death experience and cautions about the monster attracted to her, the same one who devoured her Father. Ren and Barren find another clue of Vance's direction and have a close encounter, almost turning to go over a waterfall. They eventually find themselves outside where the river meets the surface in a canyon in the Rovine, where they see a giant ziggurat temple in the distance. Barren takes this moment to ask Ren if something ever happened to him, Ren would watch out for his sister. Upon finishing a long rest, the party travels through the dense woods to the temple. Along the way, they see signs of an ancient civilization that used to call this canyon home. They eventually make it to the perimeter of the ziggurat and are fired upon by Vance, who, through a magic mouth spell on his crossbow bolt, warns the party that they should go through the temple. With the pressure of his shots and options running out, the party pushes open the sealed temple door.

C2E33: Lazy River

Leaving behind the burning heap that was the old Lord's manor, the Vigils headed out following Acorn, the mother of Chestnut. She leads them to Snow-blanket, an ancient Treant with roots that connect to an underground river. Only a select few of the party can understand his language, so much of what was discussed was lost on the others. One of the things that did get through was when he called Moss a Deathwalker. Finally convinced to move, Snow-blanket gets up and allows the party to access the river. The party all eventually jump in the hole and find themselves floating down a slow-running underground river... well, three of the party members don't find themselves floating. Alia, Opal, and Adilaide spend the next little while trying to not drown, and once Adilaide is unconscious, Barren and Pablo use some of her dresses as flotation devices.

C2E32: Chestnut

With the party gathered together, they venture down into the secret complex of the house. They find Vance, who had run down here once the fighting with Barren and the Dryads had started. Opal can see through his bluff and tries to apprehend him. He runs, but only a little before the group catches him. Acting very differently, he eludes that his only job was to delay the Vigils to allow the others to get away. He can get out of his handcuffs and run back toward the surface. The Vigils look around the complex, where they find a child dryad named Chestnut. Clearly in pain, they figure out it is being underground that hurts her. The Party agrees to save the girl and returns to the surface. They meet with the dryads, who explain that their little one was taken, and that's why they attacked. To slow the party, Vance sets the building on fire, and the Vigils follow the dryads somewhere to get help from someone that the dryads know.

As Alia's spirit enters her heart, she finds herself in a broken landscape of her memories. As the party sees her physical form change to metallic brass, she dies once more inside her heart. She wakes up and meets her father, who was soul trapped inside her when he died. He explains that her physical body was his creation. The rest of the party works to do a ritual to raise her from the dead as her father works from the inside. Alia is brought back, but Adelaide is warned by her god that Vance is gone.

C2E30: Someone Else

With anxiety heightened, Barren and Opal find the body of a simple would-be adventurer. Though the individual's throat was slashed, other strange cuts were found. Moving onward, the Vigils push out to investigate the house further. They see strange things afoot, as there are now trees in the yard that weren't there before. Pinky and Opal investigate a wardrobe where they hear ominous whispers. They find a secret bottom inside with a trapdoor leading below. Adelaide and Alia investigate the tapping coming upstairs, where they find an individual tied up, one of the would-be adventurers named Vance. This and other clues signify to Alia that this isn't a Ghost but a natural person. They head down, and none of them see where barren has gone. The party spots him outside being leeched from the trees that were charming him. A fight ensued to get Barren back, but because of his charmed state, he turned on his teammates and killed Alia.

The Vigils finally made it to the village of Elkay, where they met Sir Fireborn, leader of the Fiefdom. He explained the predicament of missing villagers and discussed the house that is suspected to be hunted. After preparations, the party made their way to the house, where they started to explore the grounds and interior. Somewhere on the floor above was a constant tapping sound, and footprints were found leading upstairs. Barren also located a body on the far side of the house.

At the end of the formal dinner, Adilaide confronts her mother and stands her ground so she and her fellow Vigils can receive help from her family. Before setting out in the morning, Opal, Ren, and Pinky perform a daring prank on Adilaide involving a peacock, disorganization, and fart sounds to show their appreciation. The team leads out on a ferry the following day, and soon after Adilaide and Barren confront each other for the mistreatment on both of their parts, Alia stepping in before things get out of hand. The team's travels are, for the most part, uneventful, and they take time to bond and talk.

The searching continued after the goblin fight at the disheveled shack and surrounding area, leading the Vigils to catch the runaway goblin as well as find traces of a vampiric presence, presumed dead. After Adilaide was beaten up by a box and Barren and Ren turned a presumed dead vampire into a most assuredly dead vampire, the party thought it best to continue through the night to Fel-nor. The old adage that where there are ten goblins, there are one hundred more not far rings true as the group spots the shack burning in the distance much later. In the morning, Adiliade treats everyone to shopping and carousing before introducing the party to her father, Azureus. The retired knight with a soft spot for his daughter happily brought the weary band in and told them to prepare for dinner. Meanwhile, Opal reconnects with the Triquetra.

With preparations finished by contacting Azureus Brightor, Adilaide's father, the Vigils set off on their next mission: investigate the mystery of a haunted building in far away Elkay. On their way to Fel-nor, Donnie escaped his confinement in the jar and gave Ren a hard time, to the chagrin of most of the party. During that, the group found goblins and a bugbear burying something. After Moss was insulted, the party fought them.

C2E24: A Heart of Gold

As the week continued on, our Vigils were able to accomplish a few tasks that they wanted to do. They were able to do some research in the Archive and the Archanium. Adelaide found an interesting and somewhat disturbing journal, apparently written by Draven Duril, the leader of the Vigils. Opal learned that the black monolith is some power source waiting to be tapped into by something or someone. Barren visited his sister and was able to reconnect with her. Finally, Alia went home and confronted her mom. They had a long talk that led them both to an understanding. Mara revealed to Alia the truth about her heart and how it was magically created by her father.

C2E23: Sprouts

With the group safe at the Lighthouse, the party relaxes and prepares for their next adventure. After the dinner, which Pinky and herself helped prepare, Alia heads up to the Hall of Remembrance. She finds the nameplate of her father and talks to him, relaying all the recent stories. A little while later, Barren joins her, clearly under the influence of alcohol. He reveals that his grandfather, who raised him, Carlisle Ravenfrost, was also a Vigil, and they can locate his nameplate not too far away from Alia's father. They are then joined by Moss, wandering through the immense structure. Not too long after the start of their discussion, Moss loses feeling in his left arm and starts to be racked with pain. He runs from his comrades to find a way to relieve his pain and then hides in his room, passing out soon after fan-like mushrooms start to sprout out of his arm, and the presence of another being enters his mind. Earlier in the evening, Barenn revisited Illain Bjernhart, where they shared a terse and hostile conversation. Barenn wanted to clarify that he has no trust in her as her heritage as a witch can be damning. He warned her that he would be watching her like how the yellow-eyed witch from a childhood story watched her prey. The week of downtime starts in earnest; Barenn and Ren join on a fishing trip to the not-so-secret fishing spot, where they then need to compete for the top spot of fishing.

C2E22: A Boone and a Price

As morning arrives over the City of Havnok, our heroes are whisked away through teleportation to the Lighthouse again. As soon as they arrive, Reginald Briar, their Handler, debriefs them and gives them the tasks of handing over the Black obelisk to the people in the Arcanium and meeting with Ihab to sort out their dwelling in the tower. After a dense disagreement with the Head Arcavist, Opal persuades him to start researching this artifact sooner rather than later, and Pinky gets a peek at what these researchers spend most of their time doing. The Party then has the pleasure of working with Ihab to make a door and personalized rooms for each. The party splits once everyone is settled in, with Opal and Adelaide going to the Chapel of the Sun and Moon and the others heading down to the Service room. Moss asks if he could be trained in the art of medicine. Ren and the others have a meeting with Ilain Bjernhart, the Keeper of the service room. They discuss Ren's family, their predicament, and curses in general. She calls Barren a witch and he storms off. On their travel to the Chapel of the Sun and Moon, Opal opens up on the true nature of her calling as the Hero of Lillies. She isn't just a descendant, but the literal same soul as the first and every Opal that has come, and she fears that she has no agency in what her life becomes and if her pattern will ever end on her worn soul. Once in the Chapel, Opal and Adelaide seek answers but none come for the moment. Back at the Lighthouse, Alia brings her companions to the Commons where Barren reveals to Ren the fate of his family as they were killed for the crime of being witches, crimes they didn't commit.

C2E21: Aftermath

With the defeat of the shadows, the party discusses some of their concerns about working together. Alia mentioned her failings and revealed her father's demise. Moss expressed concern that she would get killed because of her anxiety though ultimately, the party supported her. Ren explained his viewpoint more clearly, and while most of the party may not agree with him, it fostered a sense of understanding. The Vigils decided to take the Monolith with them to understand it more clearly by study. The party traveled back to the surface, encountering members of the Veiled Hand along the path back. Opal, desiring to touch the Rectangular Prism, is sent into a vision with Adelaide to a future Opal. Goodbyes are said by Vinny and Brigadier Haws, and the party prepares a feast before their return to the Lighthouse.

C2E20: Tantrum

With the roar of the looming Pitch Kruvust Demon, combat ensues in the Temple of the Night. Barren and Opal rush to the forefront to battle the demon head-on, Alia and Ren work with Pablo to get the real children out of danger, and Brigadier Haws, Adelaide, Moss, and Pinky work to provide ranged support. It all turns upon its head when the Kruvust starts to summon the same shadow monsters that have been causing havoc above in Havnok. Alia's confidence shatters and she starts to yell and panic that she can't do this. Then the Monster casts a form of Cloudkill causing most of the party to suffer from its poisonous gas. Last, the floating monolith of pure darkness starts buzzing with some energy, and the whole area is bathed in magical darkness. Stumbling in the dark, trying not to choke on the gas nor falling into the depths all around the bridge, the party soldiers on. Adelaide hears the form of Pinky crash to the bridge as she falls unconscious on the bridge narrowly missing and plummeting into depths beyond. Alia's screaming slowly stops as the gas also relieves her of consciousness. Ren pulls the needle out of the actual Ralph's arm, and a scream from the demon double echoes through the darkness. Adelaide provides healing for Pinky and a cloak of magical twilight of her own which helps bolster the other Vigils. Ren helps Alia up who in turn saves both Barren and Opal from terrible fates with some strange clockwork magic. Eventually, the Monolith stops producing the magical darkness, and everyone's sight returns. With Opal's assistance, Barren brings the Demon down, but the summoned shadows somehow are connected to its life force, stopping the final blow from being achieved.Opal tries to smash the rectangular prism but can only somehow suppress its effects. Moss and Adelaide use Moonbeam to subdue the Kruvust Demon, but not before the last of the shadows in a harsh whisper, trying to appeal to the group's empathy. "Do not hurt the Child!" the dark figures wheeze, revealing that this Kruvust is in its adolescence and is somehow the posterity of the Demon that the past Hero of Lillie's defeated. After a brief but terse conversation which cannot be peaceably resolved, the last of the shadows fall to the double moonbeam, and the Shadow on the Kruvust fades away leaving it dead. The party muses on what the next step is and Opal, feeling frustrated to be left with more questions than answers, turns and reaches out to a hero of old. Opal asks what Voddenfell is and is answered by the saying, "you've been wondering why you are here."

C2E19: Knifepoint

With the weariness heavy in their eyes, the party, barricaded in a forlorn weapon room, decides to rest. Opal to exhausted, collapses on her sleeping mat before warning any of her party member of the true nature of Ralph, the older boy they found. Barren and Moss take the first watch which is uneventful and silent for the duration. Next is Ren and Adilaide for watch, both struggling to wipe the sleep from their eyes. During these members' watch, Ren and Adilaide both see a small form cast a shadow and make a scrapping noise from behind a chest. With suspicions high, they pull back the chest to reveal a tiny black pudding ooze no larger than the palm of their hand dragging a singular gold coin. With the Dungeon Master going to great lengths the describe the powerful adorableness radiating from the small creature, Ren and Adilaide can't but be enthralled by the cuteness and they promptly name the black pudding Donnie Oozeman or Donnie for short. With a vow between them to hide Donnie from Barren the two finish their watch. Pinky and Alia take the next watch and both of them go about simple and small tasks like cooking breakfast and makeing party decorations. As the party wakes up and begins their day, Ralph as a demon secretly calls Opal out and threatens to kill the younger boy if she tries anything. He tries to make a deal with Opal in exchange for the real children and Opal plays along for now. The Group of Vigils leaves their hiding hole and follows Ralph a half days journey deeper under the city. Opal recieves a vision of what a previous Opal did in this place, giving clue of what is to come. They pass many rooms and chambers, one being filled with glowing jellyfish sensitive to light, and eventually make it to a large ravine chamber. The ravine doesn't have a detectable bottom and it looks like a large stone was moved to make entry into this space possible. Many different types of fungi grow on the rock walls giving off faint luminescent glow. The Vigils eventually find themselves infront of some sort of temple, standing on a land bridge and beyond the walls of the dark sanctuary a dark hulking figure and a Rectangular Prism of pure darkness. Ralph turns on his brother with a knife given by Barren threatening that if Opal doesn't release the seal on the figure, then Vinny will die. With some stalling Vinny is able to produce the holy water and splash it in the face of the double pretending to be his brother. The final words out of the doubles mouth are, " Mo'onyan, Kill them!"

C2E18: Sludge

After the harrowing encounter with the shadows of the sewer, the party continues forward to face whatever lurks under the city. After finding a path created by the settling of stone, the group sees a light ahead. Upon finding a low lit destroyed great hall, the party springs to action to fight off a swarm of rats bent on ripping up a humanoid form. Opal, releasing divine energy and critically striking the rats, saves the form which turned out to be the mother of the missing children. Having the guards of Brigadier Haws help the lady back to safety, the party continues on, a magical door sealed their exit behind them as they go. Barren and Ren discuss the challenge of mercy killing in regards of the wererat. Passing through the rock filled ruins of the Reulii and their empty streets, the party reaches an ancient fortress showing signs of small footprints leading in. The party travels through dizzying corridors until they find an abandoned armory with the whimpers of children echoing inside. Opal, using her divine senses to perceive, can detect the presence of a familiar demon to Klem. When her and Pinky's eye fall on two huddled figures, she could tell that of the two boys, the older is a demon. Right then from a different door, a large monster of sickly black sludge attacks the party, nearly killing multiple party members as it splits apart and multiplies in the area. By the quick thinking of the party, moss doing everything ;), and Ren throwing a magical sword that the monster was feeding upon down a fathomless depth, the party survives and decides the rest.

C2E17: Misery

With the return of Pinky bearing news of the general location of the Tsigani in the city, the party travels once again into the Bread Wall District. After getting some supplies, Ren hears the clamor of people coming from the BDBB (Black Dragon Bakery and Brewery, one of the first places they visited when the Vigils reached Havnok). Entering in, they party has their first run in with one of these legend keepers, an aging elf with golden eyes and a hijab like Scarf made of many different colors. She introduces herself as Gwendolyn and talks briefly to the Vigils of what she knows about the history of this great city. Much of what they have been able to find out is confirmed by the with the information stored in her Memory Weave. She takes special interest in the condition afflicting Ren's family members and promises to travel to Ba'wouli to learn what she can. The party then leaves and meets up with Brigadier Haws before adventuring into the undercity. As the Vigils trek down hallways turned sewers, they come to a crossroads of paths with the easterly end blocked by rubble and some sort of hovel built there. Barren, Ren, Pinky, and Alia find a rat-like person cowering under a table, and immensely effected by the shadow plague. Just as he is able to shout out a warning, shadows descend upon the party with Opal taking a beating from one. With the use of Adaliade's Moonbeam and Opal's radiant strikes, the battle quickly turns back in the Vigil's favor. With only one way to relieve his ailment, Ren makes the hard choice to put the suffering Wererat out of his misery.

C2E16: Pyre

The Morning come of the third day that the Vigil's have been in Havnok. As most of the group leaves Alia and Barren behind for the funeral of Renerin, the town guard that lost his life, they overhear a street crier. The city of castles lesser ward where the poor live are increasingly being burdened by the shadowy plague and new quarantines and curfews being established. They hurry to the Barracks of the Crimson Cloaks Situated on the Bread wall and enter the service. They watch as the body is prepared for cremation, burned, and his sword is passed down to the dead man's son. Moss is able to talk with Brigadier Haws who agrees to help them search the undercity and offer some magical items to boot. Meanwhile, Barren makes a major discovery through his understanding of alchemy about the ooze made of two different sources. The Kruvust pestilence portion seems to be weakened and the shadow that is mixed with it seems to be bolstering it. The party comes back together and set off to find a Tsigani. On their way, they stop to identify the whip Alia has been holding onto for a long time. During Opal's ritual, Barren and Ren spar as a way to pass the time. They find the whip to be known as a "Racha' Ko Pulung" or King's Blood whip, which is powerful yet very dangerous at the same time. Finally pinky returns with news that the Tsigani has been seen recording the stories of the Plague and is in the Bread Wall district.

C2E15: I got a Jar of Ooze

As Opal slips into a vision from a previous Hero of Lillies, She finds herself in an out of body experience talking to an Opal from the past. She is able to gain info that the Demon from a bygone era was a Kruvust or Demon of Pestilence. After a warming reunion with Adilaide from her 24 hour shopping spree, the team talks over their findings and decides that it might be best to do some hands on research about the shadows that they previously faced. They head out into the night and locate a suitable entrance into the undercity. Not long after posting up to wait, two shadows make their way towards the grate and are stopped by Alia's bonfire. A fight ensues with information being learned with every attack. Opal slays a shadow which turns out to be some sort of tentacled abomination able to control and sheath itself in shadow. She collects the goo left behind after the shadow was slain and sees signs that it's made of two different forces, one of pestilence and the other of shadow. The other shadow just slips out of Moss's clutches much to his chagrin and the Vigil's head back to the outpost to rest before the next day.

With the party splitting to investigate the happenings of Havnok, Pinky and Moss return to the Bread Wall. There they meet a doctor from The Watchers who shared with them some information. Pinky was approached by some angry townspeople about Vigil's taking children and she was able to deceive them into thinking she isn't a Vigil. Moss and Pinky then find a way into the undercity. As they are exploring they come across a Large Spider oozing black shadow from it's mandibled mouth which chases them back to their exit. Pinky goes for an attack at the top of a ladder and the spider is able to get a bite on her knocking her out with one bite. After the sickening thud of her body hitting the ground, moss makes the split second decision to heal Pinky. Pinky opens her eyes but her limbs don't respond as the venom of the spider has paralyzed her. With that realization, moss rips a patch off his cloak, falls beside Pinky, and plants the patch by her. A window forms and they slip out of the spider's clutches. Moss and Pinky ride down a rapid of drainage and exit out of the city from a sewer pipe. Going back to the rest of the group as they have gathered together at the outpost, Alia confronts Ren about his beliefs. After trying to help her see his point of veiw, Ren and Alia join Barren as they ask Opal what is going on. She explains her origins as a descendent of the Hero of Lillies who has been chosen to take up the hero's mantle. This burden along with the fear of not being able to be her own person pushed her to strike out and join the Vigil's. Finally Moss and Pinky return and the group gets ready to rest.

C2E13: 5 Days

With their run in with the demonic shadows just behind them, the Vigils travel with the surviving guard to his barracks to warn his commanding officer. They then travel back to their own outpost and rest for the evening trying to recover their strength. In the morning, discussion of their next move consumes them as it is apparent that to defeat some type of Demon may be out of their reach. In the midst of their conversation, the Vigil's are interrupted by a visit from Brigadier Haws, a high ranked officer of the Crimson Cloaks. After a terse conversation, it's clear that she herself is worried for her people and came looking for information from the Vigils. During Such discussions, Barren asks how soon they could receive additional backup from more experienced Vigil, and Bral the curator informs him that it will be 5 days till help arrives. Once the members of the group agree that they need to do what they can in the mean time, the party splits up to research on what they might be facing. Opal and Ren head to the Temple of The Huntress and Barren and Alia head to the Arched Library. Both groups glean that what they are fighting is very old and may have strong connections to the Gods of Evil known as the Usurpers, the Reulli people who inhabited the City of Castles prior, and a champion known as the Hero of Lillies. With this information these two group meet back up to share what they learned. Questions where raised as Opal was acting suspicious and Alia realizes that Ren is a worshiper of Yoko, a Usurper God.

C2E12: Bakers and Burglars

After vanquishing the demonic shadow, the party discovers that the Elwind's son's ailment, though helped, was not cured. They decide to look into their other lead of what is going on by following the small boy, Powel, who had been collecting the moldy bread. He leads them to his meeting spot with Klem who they then follow into the Smiter's Quary, a poorer district where the stone is hewn for the City of Castles. They discover that Klem is feeding unsuspecting citizens the bread and spreading the sickness. A chase breaks out and after causing a ruckus in a back alleyway they catch Klem. Using Opal's ability to divinely sense beings of light and dark, Klem turns out to be a Fiend of some sort. They take her and interrogate her gaining only cryptic information about this creature's leader, Mo'onyan, and something that is coming called Voddenfell. After relaying the true song for bread tag, the party finds themselves surrounded by more demonic shadows and a fight breaks out. The party manages to slay the demonic Klem as well as a few shadows but decides to fall back as the shadows kill one of the town guards that was with them as well as almost suck the strength completely out of Ren and Alia. The last thing the party sees behind them is one of the shadows grabbing something out of the ooze that remained of Klem and turning corporeal as a new Klem.

C2E11: The Bread

The party of Vigil's find themselves in Havnok, the City of Castles with it's imposing walls and labyrinthine streets. The curator of the Vigil outpost points the group to investigate the Bread Wall, a section of the city known for it's delicious baked goods and being built into the side of a steep cliff. After a few hours of pressing their way through the crowds, they reached the Black Dragon Bakery & Brewery (also known as the BDBB). Due to Ren and Alia's appetite the party enters the BDBB for their famous dragon bread while Pinky spots some children to play with. The Bread is divine and the children teach Pinky bread tag. Barren talks with a woman who's husband is sick and discovers her children are missing as well. In the middle of all these activities, all the bread in the city district turns rancid with crusty black mold. Pinky starts asking questions but the ring leader of the children, Klem, who cannot be found. The party searches high and low in the BDBB and is eventually lead to the Elwind family with a sick teenager. Then Opal and Ren using their abilities to sense evil and poison respectively realize that there is some demonic presence in the boy and Alia and Moss push it out using magic. The boy shakes, foaming complete darkness at the mouth as he vomits a shadow which stands up and makes a run for it. Through a combined effort and especially through the use of Opal's axe, Shadowrend, the Vigil's of Yavna vanquish the creature.

During the escapades of Barren, Adelaide, and Pinky, Opal and Moss have a heart to heart on what it means to be a Paladin for Opal and her personal struggles. Inspired by this conversation, Opal meditates and receives a vision depicting a teen-aged warrior and herself searching for living among the dead. The boy asks her to promise to stop the war if she has the chance and she accepts leaving herself fearing that she is failing her duty as a paladin. Going to those outside of the training grounds; quick thinking with pinky's new ability, a magic scroll, and a good amount of luck keep the group from being detained by the Ostowian Shield Guardians. They make it back to the training ground and Alia is summoned to help them get back in. Though Barren and her are far from seeing eye to eye, she helps them get back in. Three months later, the training is finally complete and each of the Vigils have changed in some way. As they are brought back to the Lighthouse they are all rewarded with their Vigil Symbol to show their status as full Vigils of Yavna. They are introduced to Reginald, their handler, and after a brief description of the Lighthouse interior, he informs them of their first assignment. The are whisked away through the Dioptric Ring and teleported to Havnok, The City of Castles.

With their training fully underway, the new group of Vigil's are given the 'new employee' presentation. The group decides to focus on personal development and accomplishing their goals as a group. Barren the night before decided to clean up and shave, his purple eye are strange for a human. Many of the characters choose to use what little down time they have to research in hope of improving their knowledge. The characters also receive special training to help them with their future adventures. After receiving a letter from Draven, Barren decides to look for a way out of the training area in order to find this person he is supposed to be taking care of. He asks Pinky and Adelaide to join him and together they leave to find the girl. After reaching the Upper Swells, the residental area close to the Lighthouse, the group finds Elise, Barren's teenage sister, and they reconnect. Just as she is going to tell barren something, they are spotted by an Automaton Guardian.

As the new vigils make their way to the training grounds, a pervasive awkwardness fills the cabin of the carriage as Alia's mother had just hung up her sending stone. This is not assisted as Barren pushes the subject and everyone else tries to get as far away from talking about Alia's hardships as possible. The only relief is the jovial carraige driver named Spindly. The party finally reaches the Training area, a hexagonal slanted Colosseum carved from the natural stone of the crater that the Lighthouse resides in. Kaletho and Deniz greet the new Vigils and throw them into their first training as some of the members must rescue others stuck at the top of a pillar.Unbeknownst to them a shambling mound of vines and plant material had also been summoned to hunt them as they tried to rescue their comrades. After a fight where Barren was eaten, Ren was slammed, and a vine was insanely hard to cut; the group defeated the monster. Adaliade called upon her celestial blood to fly up to the top of the pillar to free Alia. Later that evening Opal revealed to Adilaide that she too has celestial blood as they both have somehow been chosen by the Gods.

C2E7: Fledglings

Without recognizing the reveal of the end of the trial, Alia finishes off Nigel before things truly settle down. Opal tries to use a spell scroll to revive Nigel but in the end he is too far gone. The stranger leads to group out of Thorne's tower and meets up with other Vigil's who rush Nigil and Lanaster away in a teleporting carriage. The Stranger introduces himself as Henry Van Dyke and welcomes the party into the Vigils. Van Dyke leads the party back to the Fairy ring teleporter they woke up in. Eventually they meet the other test group there and after a long rest, they teleport to the Lighthouse. Once the party reaches the massive HQ of the Vigils, they meet Draven Durill, the acting Leader of the Vigils and he explains that they will go to a few months of training. Barren in private asks for Draven to look and see if a girl in his care could stay with a family of Vigils on the Isle of Ostow. On the carriage ride to the training facility, Alia has a call with her mother that reveals she was responsible for the heightened challenge for the trial. She wanted Alia to fail so she doesn't go somewhere actually dangerous and she looses her like Alia's father.

C2E6: Ultimatum

As the party hears the crash of the metallic bull in the sea far below, they take the chance to finally catch their breathe and head back to the underground tunnels to rest. After a bit of strife over the treatment of a silk shirt subsides, the party receives a missive from Nigel Zolair, the necromancer the party has been trying to track down. With an invitation to talk, the party sleeps on what to do taking time during their watches to tailor, metal work, and deepen bonds. They set out early in the morning to Thorne's Tower and are greeted by skeletons forming a bridge for them. Once inside the tower, they are lead up to the top where they finally meet Zolair. Once given a chance to explain his motives and desire to change the Vigils, he invites the party to die, surrender, or join him. Lanaster reveals that he is against the Vigil's from the start and the party is given five minutes to discuss their choice. With a distraction and feigning to side with the necromancer from Moss and Barren, Alia sacrifices the necklace that her father gave her the day he died to be able to break the arcane seal protecting the Rod connected to the Conduit. A fight ensues and before the party can finish Nigel off, Opal uses the Rod on the Conduit and the stranger stands up and announces the Trial to be over.

C2E5: A Hard Place

The party finds themselves delving down into the ancient tunnels under servitude. As they search what seems to be an escape route from the Thorne's Tower, they find the remains of archaic warriors, some bearing the markings of Adilaide's faith and Opal's Oath. The party finds that the tunnel ends at the shear cliff that the town runs beside. With presumably no way forward, the party turns back only to find that the skeletons guarding the town also sought refuge in these tunnels. With luck on her side, Opal is able to stop the undead by using the scrolls that they gathered from their last fight with these thralls. After a brief scare from exiting the tunnel system by the mechanical bull, the party finally finds an exit to these tunnels that is unguarded. The party moves their way to the battlements, but in doing so draws the bull in. Battle ensues, as the bull destroys one of the battlements causing Barren and Moss to jump to the other rather than plummeting to their death off the cliff. Adilaide is almost killed as the bull throws her. Finally, Ren with the help of Barren is able to bind the beast to the other tower, jump off, and as it knocks the battlement over the cliff, the bull is pulled by the weight to its demise.

After Kyra and Lanister explain that their evaluator and other recruits had been taken by Zolair's minions, the group takes time to rest and prepare by washing clothes, blessing weapons, cooking fresh meat, and other various activities. They decide to follow the trail left by the captured Vigils in which they hope leads them right to their adversary. After a few hours of travel, the party sees the dilapidated destroyed town of Servitude set on the edge of a cliff with the dark tower behind it. Pinky is chosen to scout ahead. In doing so, she comes face to face with a massive mechical bull who can petrify with its breath. After a narrow escape and with knowledge from some insight that Opal has, the party makes a plan to try to make it through the village with coming to blows with the beast. After a distraction, the party makes it to an ancient church of Duruth, God of Tyranny. Upon finding a secret passageway, the group signals Pinky. She flies toward the church with the Bull hot on her tail.

Once their skirmish with the skeletons was over, the newly formed party braved their way to find answers about their test. A journal entry pointed them towards a different cabin where other Vigil recruits were tested named Olivia's Cabin. With the time to walk, they converse about their pasts and their bonds start to grow. After going over the river and through the woods, heavy rain pushed them to find a cave along a shallow canyon wall carved by a river. They finally are able to rest. Two figures in trouble pursued by howls awake them from their slumber. Using bow and shouting to deter the wolves, the saved figures turn out to be other recruits from Olivia's Cabin. They explain that the situation is more dire than expected.
