In 2020, Steven was awarded a CBE for his services to drama and entertainment, and the wider work in the Birmingham community. A CBE, a screenwriter, film producer, and director but most importantly he's a big Blues fan.

After a disappointing afternoon in East Anglia, Blues bounced back in our Tuesday night encounter against Huddersfield Town, thumping the Yorkshire side, 4-1.

Tommy, Zach, and Josh reflect on a massively improved performance compared to the Norwich defeat on Saturday.

The lineup clearly played a big part in the team's overall performance. Dembele, Miyoshi, and Stansfield linked up throughout the game creating many chances the away side simply couldn't handle.

Dembele and Miyoshi thoroughly deserved their goals, as did Jordan James whose strike found the far bottom corner with excellence.

With the Baggies up next, the boys agree the same lineup should be used. Albion are on a good run of form, including an impressive 4-0 away victory over Preston who hadn't lost a game before that. So a tight game could be inbound.

Zach: 1-1

Welcome back to the Blues Focus Podcast. Today, Zach and Sam sit and discuss Blues’ first two defeats of the season both away to Watford and Preston.

We were harshly done by the referee at Vicarage Road. Receiving seven bookings and a red for full back, Lee Buchanan. Leading to Watford the late winner.

And were just perhaps the creators of our own downfall at Deepdale. Another goal for Jay Stansfield. Proving his worth inputting so much up front, fully deserving all he gets. Fingers crossed he’s up to the mark this evening too!

Zach unfortunately dropped out at the end before the end due to technical issues, but Sam wrapped up his thoughts on tonight’s game. Predicting a late winner from Siriki Dembele returning from injury.

Scrappy and unenjoyable, but Chong’s early goal was enough to seal Blues three points. The win however deserved more goals and had we’d have been facing a tougher side, perhaps we’d have come away with a defeat rather than a win due to the amount of missed chances.

Still a win’s a win and right before the international break, fingers crossed we can progress afterwards and extend the gap between us and the bottom three against Blackburn.

SE3 E22 - ARE WE GOING THROUGH TO THE FIFTH ROUND?

Welcome back to the Blues Focus Podcast with your favourite three, Tommy, Jamie, and Zach.

Today the boys discuss Blues' improved performance in the fourth round of the FA Cup away to Blackburn Rovers. You could argue we were the better team. We certainly were in the opening 10/15 minutes after former Rovers man, Reda Khadra, struck home an early lead, but we had to fight our way back after we conceded two fairly sloppy goals, in fairness.

Jubilation was to be left late on though after sub, Jordan James, got the vital equaliser to keep Blues in the cup. The boys talk about whether Eustace should be giving him more game time, as well as why Khadra came off instead of Chong earlier in the second half, and the boys also read more into Eustace's interaction with the fans after the game too.

All this plus a look ahead to the game on Tuesday night back at St. Andrew's. With the draw being tomorrow, who do you want to get? Let us know down below! 👇

The boys discuss a fifth consecutive defeat after losing 2-1 to Preston North End on Saturday. The game was incredibly frustrating to watch and was infuriating being 2-0 down inside the first fifteen minutes. Lukas Jutkiewicz managed to grab a goal but the game couldn’t be rescued, Preston went away with the three points.

With the addition of protests outside the club class boxes, it’s clear to see people aren’t happy with the club and want change. I’m sure all of us can agree we want the owners, BSHL, out, but how we can do it effectively and together is something to be discussed.

Onto Blackburn next. A win in the FA Cup fourth round could massively lift spirits, however our form at Ewood Park in the last few trips has been underwhelming. But anything can happen, that’s the magic of the cup.

Welcome back to the Blues Focus podcast where today, Tommy, Jamie, and Zach discussed Blues' latest performance, a 3-1 defeat at home to Middlesbrough.

Today we also have a brand new look to the podcast thanks to our new software. This means that episodes will not only look better but will be coming to you more frequently. Next podcast will be out Sunday after our game against Forest Green Rovers in the FA Cup Third Round.

Though Middlesbrough on Monday afternoon was entertaining for the neutral, it's yet another defeat for Blues. Our third in a row. These games after the World Cup break haven't been kind to us, and with injuries galore, it's getting a little bit worrying down at St. Andrew's.

The boys' talk about some of the issues the team appear to be struggling with on the pitch and look ahead at some of the potential issues the club may soon have to face.

It's so clear to see why players like Jude are so mature when growing up with a role model to look up to like Mike.

Welcome back to the Blues Focus Podcast. Today we have another special guest in former Birmingham City captain, Paul Robinson.

Within the time we spent with him, Paul talked to us about his six years at the club, his introduction into professional football, and his mentality when it comes to leadership and being an overall pro.

Paul was signed under Lee Clark in 2012. His contract was only supposed to be for a few months to help out after two of our most esteemed defenders, Stephen Carr and David Murphy, were out due to injury leaving very little choice in backup. However because of his passionate performances, Paul signed an extended contract that saw him through to the end of his career in 2018, which was a 3-1 win on the last day of the season against Fulham.

We loved having him on. It was great to absorb everything he had to say and he is more than welcome to come back on in the future.

Welcome back to the Blues Focus Podcast. Today we have a very special guest in former Birmingham City winger who wore the number 19 shirts in his five years at the club, Jacques Maghoma.

In the hour we spent with him, Jacques discussed with us his time at the Blues, some of his best teammates, favourite managers, and best moments at the club.

As well as talking to us about his early career as a youngster at his boyhood team, Tottenham Hotspur. He left the club for Burton Albion in 2009 but would’ve made his first team debut against Arsenal in the League Cup had he not been badly injured before in training with the Under 23’s.

Jacques arrived at St. Andrew’s in 2015 under manager Gary Rowett who he was managed under at Burton and we were all quite surprised to hear that they didn’t get along at first. But after a good sit down between the two, Jacques says Rowett became a mentor to him, and his move from Wednesday to Blues wasn’t treated like a typical transfer.

Maghoma went onto score 21 goals in 180 appearances for the Blues in all competitions and became one of our most valued players in his time under six different managers!

Wednesday night proved to be a St. Andrew's classic. Blues put on a dogged performance with the stand out star, Hannibal Mejbri, who didn't stop all night. It was a close encounter and after the opposition took the lead in the 74th minute through Gudmunsson, it looked as if Burnley may have just edged it. But almost immediately George Hall found Scott Hogan to level it up sending us into ecstacy!

It'll be another test at Ewood Park on Saturday but there's a sense of pride back at the Blues which may boost the players out on the pitch with who knows how many in the stands.

Today we were glad to be joined by The Butter Pie podcast to learn more about Preston North End and their start to the 22/23 campaign in the Championship.

We were joined by Oli, who gave his insight to what’s been an interesting start to the season for Preston. 0 goals conceded in their first seven games, and was optimistic they’d start to pick up form in their next few games.

Up against Blues, Oli predicted a cagey 2-0 win for the home side, seeing Blues on their travels back down south with yet another defeat on the cards.

A fair prediction and a great chat. Good luck to Preston for the season, but fingers crossed we can pull off a win on Saturday. We need all the points we can get this season due to circumstances.
