The biblical term “ways” refers to the paths of life and the actions taken to navigate these paths. Every significant area of your life represents a “way.” Examples include how you connect with God, nurture your marriage or other key relationships, manage your finances, care for your mental, physical, and spiritual health, and more.

In Scripture, the concept of being spiritually dead or asleep is often used as a metaphor to describe a state of disconnection from one’s spiritual self and God.

In this unconscious state, the sobering truth is that what the Bible refers to as “the natural man” believes itself to be spiritual (1 Corinthians 2:14). This is often the result of exposure to only human indoctrination about God and Scripture, rather than direct revelation and instruction from God Himself. Paul experienced this state before his conversion, but his spirit was eventually awakened, enabling him to hear God’s voice, encouragement, guidance, and instruction.

In this episode, we’ll take a deep dive into the word “awake,” which Paul uses in Ephesians 5:14 and 1 Corinthians 15:34 to describe his former spiritual "natural man" condition as “asleep” and “dead.” We’ll also explore how this connects to the word “awakens” in the prophetic passage about Jesus’ prayer life in Isaiah 50:4.

Christians often describe themselves as "children of God." However, some struggle to fully embrace their divine nature as a god. This lack of acceptance undoubtedly hinders their spiritual development and is one of the main reasons they struggle to hear God's voice and learn from Him directly.

"The Son can do nothing of Himself but what He sees the Father do. For whatever things He does, these also the Son does likewise" (John 5:19).

For those of us who genuinely want to live and fulfill the will of God for every facet and season of our lives, the same process applies. In other words, we must also become a Father impersonator according to His instructed will for each of our lives.

The first step in accomplishing this is to learn to discern God's voice (thoughts) within your mind. The second step is to learn to "see the Father do" by yoking your spirit as a "god" to learn from the teachings of the Spirit of God.

In this introductory episode, we begin exploring deeper insights into the discernment process and how to, as a god, "see the Father do" so that you, like Jesus, can do "likewise."

Concerning acquiring visual guidance from God for your life. God speaks, reveals, and teaches through discerned “thoughts” that can be visualized and through discerned “visualizations” that He explains through thoughts. Because of this, I also share knowledge from a neuroscientist that contradicts the idea that the Pineal Gland within our brains is our envisioning "third eye" or the "eye of God." Instead, where inner vision from God is processed is primarily within the prefrontal cortex of our brains through thoughts that He projects within our imagination.

In this episode, we also analyze the misuse of another system within our brains called the Reticular Activating System, which is where unthinkingly, many devout believers create visions for their life through knowledge and imagery that is processed through their physical eyes and ears without proper discernment.

 - The branches of knowledge and educational experiences with God concerning "And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil" (Matthew 6:13; Luke 11:4).   

- What Jesus' closing statement of "for Yours is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever Amen" had to do with His "morning by morning to hear as the learned" (Isaiah 50:4) educational experiences with God, and how it should eventually apply to ours as well.   

-Two places in Scripture where Jesus used the word "Amen" and a deeper perspective of what it signifies versus its traditional religious usage.   

- We also take a deeper look into the "warring of the mind" and what the word "members" means that Paul used in Romans 7: 19-23, and why Psalms 139:16 also uses it from a neurological perspective concerning our thinking patterns, and how God reveals His personalized will (logos) for your life through your inner "members." And how it applies to our inherent ability to experience discernment to hear and learn from God within our minds, revealed in the analogies of "the tree of knowledge of good and evil" and "the tree of life" from the Garden of Eden story. 

  Romans 7:19-23 For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice. Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good. For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man. But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.   

Psalms 139:16 Your eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in your book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

We explore how we are inherently designed to discern good and evil as God does and to receive instruction from Him concerning both forces through analyzing Hebrews 5: 11-14 as a required process of spiritual maturation. 

Whatever God creates, He must educate, especially concerning "evil." We also explore how It would be more constructive to have a different perspective concerning the word “evil” based on its actual definition, inherent potential, purpose, and Jewish perspective versus blaming an actual devil. In doing so, life and Isaiah 45:7 would make more sense: “I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.”

The original purpose that God created the human mind is to house His presence and to experience Him as a teaching Spirit for every aspect of your life through daily meditative prayer.   

When Jesus experienced His daily prayer sessions, God was teaching a teacher.   

We see this daily inner educational experience portrayed in Jesus' prayer practice according to Isaiah 50:4 and Mark 1:35.   

"He awakens Me morning by morning; He awakens My ear to hear as the learned."    

"Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place, and there He prayed."   

Some interesting questions to consider concerning His morning educational experiences are: How did He prepare His mind to experience these learning sessions? What was the curriculum of His learning? And where else within the Scriptures did He teach others to experience the same?   

Within this introduction and subsequent episodes of my new Teach The Teacher Meditation Course, we explore biblical answers to these questions and learn the practical steps to teach our minds to also "hear as the learned."

 In this episode, we continue to explore the theme of life-suffering, and its remedies, by taking a deeper look into the remedy-filled perspectives and application of Jeremiah 29:11.   

In these key of knowledge verse, it teaches that God "thinks thoughts towards you." You can’t get more “towards you” than experiencing His "thoughts" within your mind.

Life is FULL of suffering. Some suffering is inflicted upon our lives by others, knowingly and unknowingly. Some suffering we inflict upon ourselves, knowingly and unknowingly. And some of our life sufferings are assigned to our lives by God, knowingly.  

Many of us begin our lives on this earth suffering that started knowingly and unknowingly within our mother's womb due to an absence of "inside information." Understanding the deeper meaning of Psalms 51: 5 reveals this form of suffering: "Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me."   

In this episode, I share my perspectives concerning these different forms of suffering and the remedy to rid ourselves of all forms of unnecessary and harmful sufferings from our life. And the process that is required to acquire knowledge from God concerning His assigned sufferings (purposes) for our life and how to fulfill them in the most effective way possible, just like Jesus experienced it as a human being.  

And we also explore the eye-opening Scripture concerning why God allows so much unnecessary suffering to take place in this world.

The most important instruction given to Adam concerning caring for the Garden of Eden was to "dress it and keep it." In this episode, we explore how Jesus (the second Adam) "dressed and kept" the inner Garden of His mind, and where within the Scriptures He taught this inner-mind maintenance principle. And through this process, we also explore how He experienced the constructive side of experiencing the devil/satan and how we can and must do the same if we truly want to root out all forms of "evil" (serpent influences) from our lives.

God has equipped every human being to experience four inherent voices (thought processes). They are the voice (thoughts) of God; the voice (thoughts) of reasoning; the voice (thoughts) of Self and the voice (thoughts) of Evil (chaos/confusion).

We find these four inherent thought processes as we explore the three dominant structures of the human brain that American Neuroscientist Paul Mclean discovered in the 1960s that typify three archetypes of biblical characters and mindsets found in the Garden of Eden story. They are Adam (the spiritual mind), Eve (the natural mind), and Serpent (the carnal mind).

This triune brain discovery reveals numerous aspects of our human existence, behavior, and thinking processes including why we have the inherent potential to experience “good knowledge.” This is experiencing functional-thinking through experiencing God as a teaching Spirit for all areas of your life, including how to discern as He does. And “knowledge of evil.” This is knowledge from God concerning anything that will cause you to experience chaos and/or confusion (evil), and the behaviors produced by it.

Unfortunately, the majority of Christianity around the world only view this as a literal story and event that caused what they refer to as “the fall of man” and “the original sin.” Yet, could there be a deeper meaning to this story than what traditional Christianity teaches? It certainly shouldn’t be confused as a literal garden. To do so strips it of all its deeper meaning and original purpose.   

When I first realized that the story of the Garden of Eden was an allegoric description of God “planting/sowing” Himself within the human body and brain along with 4 inherent thinking processes within it, life, and the rest of the Scriptures made a whole lot more sense.

Most refer to the Garden of Eden event of Adam and Eve eating from the Tree of Knowledge of God and Evil as "the fall of man." Instead, when viewed as a parable, and understanding key words within its reading from definitive root word perspectives, the Scriptures clearly teaches that this momentous event in history should be better know as “the equipping of humanity with inherent God-like discernment.”    

This is also confirmed as we explore Hebrews 5:11-14, which teaches that God-like discernment is not only inherent but practicing it for all facets of your life is a major of part of being spiritually matured by the Spirit of God within your mind. And in light of these insights, we can also now better understand why Isaiah 45:7 teaches that God "created evil."

We also explore the full-counsel of the word “seek” that Jesus used from its Greek and five Hebrew perspectives, how and where He experienced this seek process for His life, and how this process kept Him from being wicked and unrighteous.  

These definitions for "seek" are the portal of worship; to find by thinking; meditating; to pursue the understanding of the mind; to search for early morning; discern, the ability to discern between two or more thoughts; to meet in a hidden place; to search for the frequent commentary to the story of our life; to search for answers within yourself; to be consulted by God; to bring in the eyes of God.

Verse six begins with an instruction to "Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near."   

First, you can't get more "near" to God than His presence within you. God has inherently placed Himself within the human mind, which is where He desires to be experienced in the most intimate way possible as your Creator, Father, Guide, and teaching Spirit.   

In this revelatory verse, the word "call" is not an instruction to verbally call the Lord to get His attention. Instead, according to the Ancient Hebrew Lexicon of the Bible. The word "call" is defined as "to come together to meet." In other words, it's an invitation to meet with God within your mind through thought-filled conversations and personalized discipleship.  

According to verses 7-9, these meetings with God within your mind have a dual purpose. First, it's to express His mercy and pardon towards you. He does this by informing you what your "wicked ways" and "unrighteous thoughts" are so that you can "forsake" and replace them with His "righteous" thoughts and ways.  

From its ancient Hebrew perspective, the word "thoughts" within these passages of Scripture is the Hebrew expression machăshâbâh machăshebeth. Machashebeth is described as "purposes, intention, and plans." Machashabah is described as cunning or skillful works/assignments. The word "ways" from verse eight concerning "God's ways" is the Hebrew word derek. It is defined as "the course or path of life."  

The second purpose of these meetings with God, is for Him to reveal and teach you His specific purposes, will, and plans (His ways) for every aspect of your life and the works/assignments required to fulfill them.   

Now that we know that God speaks and teaches through "thoughts" concerning the topics of purpose, intention (His will), plans, and specific works. And since our minds are filled with numerous thought processes, how do we "discern" which of our thoughts are God's, our own, or from another source?

Isaiah 55:6-9  6: "Seek the LORD while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near. 7:  Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the LORD, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon. 8: For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, says the Lord. :9  For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts."

If a person doesn't use their mind to hear God's will for every aspect of their life or hasn't been taught how to do so by their Bible teacher, then iniquity is definitely "prospering" without their awareness.  

Exodus 20:5 and Deuteronomy 5:9 describes how God visits this type of iniquity of the fathers that influences the sons up to the third and fourth generation. Who are the sons, and why does God "visit" their iniquity? And what is the remedy to root out this type of iniquity from our lives?   

In this episode, we answer these questions and more as we explore the result of this type of iniquity transference from two father types. The first father type is our biological father. And the second type is what many today in Christendom refer to as their "spiritual father/mother."

In this episode, I share another perspective and far more effective application of the fivefold ministry mentioned in Ephesians 4:11. I share this perspective and application by defining four keywords found in Ephesians 4:1 and verse 12 from definitive root word definitions. What these definitions reveal is that Ephesians 4:1 is an open invitation to meet with the Spirit of God within your mind to experience the fivefold ministry of the Spirit of God, just like Jesus experienced it as a human being. When experienced, what you will discover is that God teaches you what your life ministries (purposes) are and how to fulfill them according to His will for your life versus learning how to do ministry solely from the human version of fivefold ministers.

Even if the Bible had dropped down out of the sky, or if God had emailed us the PDF directly, even if no humans were involved in writing, editing, compiling, and deciding on which documents to include (OT, NT). The Bible would only be a document but not the Word of God.  

Paul tells us that all Scripture is “God-breathed,” but we almost always fail to experience the “the breath” of His speaking. It seems that we make a leap from Scripture being inspired, “God-breathed” as it states in 2 Timothy 3:16 to Scripture being this inerrant, perfect document, given to us from the very hand of God, without the possibility of humans altering its original content.  

Though studying the Bible from definitive root word perspectives is immensely rewarding. The most important form of study that we can do in life is not Bible study. But more importantly, mind-study to locate God within it to experience the breath of His speaking and teaching.  

When trying to locate God, search your mind first. This is the reason that Jesus plainly encourages us to “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness for the kingdom of God is within you. I present to you a kingdom, just as My Father presented one upon Me” (Matthew 6:33; Luke 17:21, 22:29).  

It’s important to remember that “the Word of God” is a Spirit that speaks and teaches. All humanity possesses “the Word of God.” Yet some experience it, and some don’t for different reasons.   

So I am not saying the Bible is unimportant or to be marginalized. Quite the contrary.  

I am saying that it is so important, so critical to the life of the church, the body of Christ, that we can only trust Jesus (the Spoken Word) to interpret it correctly for us. Any interpretation that does not begin and end with Jesus (the Spoken Word) is bound to go wrong. You can only understand the Word of God through the person named “The Word of God.”

We begin this educative experience by understanding five Hebraic words for the word "discern" and their function in the discernment process of hearing and learning from the Spirit of God within your mind.   

1. Bene = offspring (male and female)  One who has the ability to discern because they are an extension of God by virtue of having a spirit.  2. Nakar = studying the origin of your thoughts. The mental work of discernment.  3. Yada = the process of acquiring knowledge and vision from God because of your inner relationship and connectivity with God.  4. Shama = a careful hearing as well as responding appropriately in obedience or action. To experience doctrine/teaching inwardly.  The educative experience of discernment  5. Miphlas = the inner ability to judge good and evil like God. The crucial God feature of discernment.  

And I also share a different view from a Judaic perspective concerning experiencing the serpent, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil from the biblical story of the Garden of Eden, and their role in the discernment process.

Once we discover the depth and reality of what Psalms 139:13 teaches. What we discover is that WHO that we are born with is the Spirit of God. And the WHAT that we are v=born with is an inner-learning environment within our minds that Jesus referred to as "the kingdom of God" where we can experience God as our primary life-Educator.  

Once we discover the deeper meanings of these verses of Scripture through definitive word study. What we discover is that the "child" of Proverbs 22:6 is "You" and the "he" of this key verse is your spirit-man, God's Spirit within you. This is the type of education that we ALL should have received when we were younger, that unfortunately many of our parents didn't offer us. And the reason that they didn't teach us concerning this inner-reality is that it wasn't taught them either. Thus generational ignorance (iniquity) concerning this reality is continually transferred from one generation to another.  

But the good news is that no matter where we are in our lives, we can become reacquainted with this life-changing education that we should have received when we were younger for the purpose of experiencing God within us a Fathering, guiding, and teaching Spirit. In future episodes, I look forward to sharing with you how this can take place.
