In today’s episode we will focus on cleansing our energy pathways before getting into more complex pranayama (or breathwork) in future episodes. Two words to become familiar with are, prana (the life force or energy present in both living beings and inanimate objects) and nadi (the pathway through which our energy flows). To put it in everday context, our physical body, prana is said to flow through energy channels known as nadis.

Prana energy can become blocked due to stress, toxicity in the physical body, physical and mental trauma and unhealthy lifestyle. This practice takes only 5 minutes to do and can be done mornings and evenings to help cleanse the nadis but you will begin to feel the added benefits of alleviating stress and anxiety, more clarity around your thoughts and a boost to your immunity, just to name a few. We will do 10 cycles of breathing through the left nostril and 10 cycles of breathing through the right.

Always practice Nadi-suddhi on an empty stomach if possible or if you have had a meal, make sure you wait at least 3 hours before practising. For it to work optimally, try and set your practice between 4am and 7 am in the morning and between 4pm and 7pm in the evening.

Please listen to episode 2 if you need a reminder on how to regulate your breathwork.

If you would like to further work on stress and anxiety through concentrated energy healing, please contact Justin at breathofsiddha.com

Past episodes –

Episode 1: Introduction to Breath of Siddha

Episode 2: Are your Breathing - Breathe Correctly

Follow on Instagram @breathofsiddha

Music: Janevo

Hosted on Acast.
