警務處國家安全處總警司李桂華指出，鍾劍華的社交平台有一些關於煽動分裂國家的留言，不論是他自己作出的留言，或轉載他人的留言都有，他明顯有勾結外國或境外勢力危害國家安全，包括參加聯署呼籲制裁香港檢控官和法官，這些都是干犯有關罪行的例子。他說如果鍾劍華覺得這些行為並非罪行，最簡單的辦法就是回港面對警方調查。

鍾劍華教授已回應自己未曾支持港獨，關於「參加聯署呼籲制裁香港檢控官和法官」只是他個人行為不涉鼓勵，他在本集節目將回應李桂華總警司為何不會回港接受調查。
