I recorded this episode months ago but we had some serious issues with the sudo and I wasn't going to release it. However, I feel it's such an important story that it deserves to be put out there. This is the first part of a three-part special.

Roy Selstrom Served with Pioneer Corp during the late 80s and later with the RLC. He served in Northern Ireland and Germany. As a Lance Corporal in the Royal Pioneer Corps, he was assigned to collect bodies during the 1991 Gulf War. A job the he was given little training for and afterwards very little help.

In this episode, Roy continues his story and talks about what happened to him and the failings of his chain of command.

Episode 33: Mark Harding, Big Miles For Forgotten Smiles

In this episode, I'm talking with Mark Harding who served with the KORBR. Joining in 1996 and completed tours of N Ireland, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Mark tells us about his time in the Army serving with COP and his tours one of which was cut short by being shot through the neck and paralysing Mark from the neck down. Mark had proven many people wrong and fought back to fitness having competed in Kayaking and Dragon Boat racing with the Purple Warriors. Mark has also completed various walks raising money for Scotty's Little Soldiers, a charity he holds very close to his heart. Mar completed a grueling walk from John O'Groats to Lands End. At the time of this recording, he was well on his way to completing his latest task of walking from his hometown of Carlisle to the Netherlands in commemoration of Operation Market Garden's 80th anniversary, again raising money for Scotties Little Soldiers.

Today I’m chatting with Brian Morgan. Brian joined the royal artillery in 1975, serving with 7 RHA and 3 RHA along with a few other places.

He tells us what it was like in training and then serving with 7 RHA. He talks about the shock of training and having to grow up quickly. Then 7 RHA were rerolled back to the PARA role. He talks about how rough regimental life could be for a young soldier new to the regiment.

He tells us what it was like going through P Company and later moving into a different trade of Artillery Clerk and serving at staff level and serving with 3 RHA as a Chief Clerk.

After leaving the Army Brian joined the Police working in the custody suit. He also talks about The Purple Warriors' Dragon boat racing and how this helped him in later life.

Andy joined the Royal Artillery in 1982 and served initially with 5th Regt RA in Germany before moving back to the UK serving in Topcliffe. It was here he decided to leave the Army and join the Police. While serving with the police he decided to join the RUC and then applied to join E4A, whose primary role was surveillance and providing intelligence to the RUC and Special Branch. Episode 11: Nick Dunn from Ashington to hell and back

Today I’m talking with Nick Dunn Nick was one of the "Chennai Six," a group of British nationals who were arrested and imprisoned in India in 2013. They were working as security guards on a ship to combat piracy in the Indian Ocean when they were detained by Indian authorities on charges of possessing illegal firearms and ammunition. The men argued that the weapons were lawfully held for anti-piracy purposes.

Today Nick talks about growing up, joining the Military, What happened in India, and life after his release.

The case gained significant media attention and was controversial, with supporters arguing that the men were wrongly convicted and were victims of a miscarriage of justice. After a lengthy legal battle and international pressure, the men were eventually acquitted and released in 2017.

Today I am speaking to John Brownlee-Baker, John joined the Royal Artillery as a boy soldier aged 15 in 1958 and reached the Rank of RSM later in his service, before emigrating toCanada where he still lives.

John served in Aden during the 1960s serving with J (Sidi Rezegh) Battery, Later John saw service in Kenya, Germany, and Northern Ireland. Today John tells us why he joined the Army and what his Boy service was like and discusses Aden and other stories.
