She completed her Masters in the family nurse practitioner program in 2012 and has a diverse clinical background which includes working in primary care and mental health clinics. Sunny eventually took on a position as a Director of Health for a large non-profit organization where she managed a varied health portfolio. At present, Sunny has been working as a nurse practitioner in Neurosurgery for the last 6 years.

Shortly after graduation, Sunny recognized the scarcity in formal education for NPs preparing for OSCE Exams as well as resources supporting new graduates in solidifying the practical skills for entry into practice. From this, stemmed the beginning of Sunny’s unique clinical course development for NP students and practicing NPs and the conception of her business, The Teaching NP. Sunny’s courses have supported NP students and NP graduates from across Canada and the United States. The foundations of her courses focus on the practical skills essential for clinical practice. This includes gathering client histories, providing client education, developing management plans, identifying ominous patient signs and symptoms, identifying differential diagnoses and performing physical exams.

Sunny’s ongoing commitment to innovation in education has further been highlighted with her development of online E-courses such as the NP Student Master Course and her NP Physical Exam course. The creation of online courses has supported students with the option of online learning and convenience. Sunny also offers comprehensive clinical templates as well as interview prep resources and she continues to support NPs through innovative education delivery.

Hosted on Acast.
