			<description><![CDATA[<p>Cody Huskins is fast becoming well known on YouTube thanks to his Huskins Horror Studios channel. Huskins, a resident of Erwin, first became interested in the horror genre thanks to time spent at an Erwin video store when he was 5 years old.</p><br><p>“I would make a beeline for the horror section, where I would look at the cover art on the video boxes,” Huskins said.</p><br><p>As he grew older, he began watching films such as “Dolls” and “Creepshow” and developed a love for the genre.</p><br><p>His love of horror eventually led to costume making, which evolved into producing short skits while in costume.</p><br><p>“One thing led to another, with me collaborating with other filmmakers, and now I’m really enjoying it,” Huskins said.</p><br><p>Huskins Horror Studios began in 2019 after Huskins moved back to Erwin after living briefly in Bristol.</p><br><p>Huskins came up with the name Huskins Horror Studios for a Facebook page.</p><br><p>“It blew up, and now I have thousands of members,” Huskins stated.</p><br><p>Join Cody and I for a deep dive conversation into his horror beginnings and see film trailers from "The Grind" and "Donna V. Jason" then get a sneak peak at  "Freddy Vs. Jason" from Dreamscape pictures. </p><br><p>Huskins said he has a couple of projects in the works, including a film titled “The Grind,” currently in postproduction.</p><br><p>Huskins described this work as a “Texas Chain Saw Massacre” fan film, with Adam Phillips, also from Erwin, serving as executive producer.</p><br><p>The fan film is scheduled to be released in 2024 along with a web series titled “The Night Seekers.” Huskins also will be part of the 2024 fan film “Freddy vs. Jason: Dreamscape,” which is a direct sequel to the 1993 film “Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday” and the 1990 film “Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare.”</p><br><p>According to Huskins, his film sets up “the ultimate showdown” between Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees, who is the murderous villain of the “Friday the 13th” films.</p><br><p>Huskins noted that his favorite character to portray is Jason Voorhees.</p><br><p>“I would love to work with Kane Hodder, who played Jason in parts 7, 8, 9 and 10” of the long-running film series.</p><br><p>He said that working full time in filmmaking would be a dream come true and added that acting is a huge passion that he enjoys pursuing.</p><br><p>He runs Huskins Horror Studios as an independent film studio out of Erwin and Raleigh, North Carolina. Raised in a single parent home, Cams' family moved from the Ida B. Wells housing projects as crime and violence claimed the lives of many youths. Cam gained a love for writing at an early age by writing poems, short stories and songs. His writings reflected the life that he saw around him. This was his emotional and mental escape from harsh realities.</h2><h2><br></h2><h2>Reemerging into the entertainment industry, Cam wrote, created and produced a parenting video blog (D.I. Daddy) for parents. This ranged from cooking to single parenting life lesson videos.</h2><h2><br></h2><h2>Having a love for cinematography and production, Cam began furthering his talents by writing screenplays and story-line production. He has written his first feature film script and conceptual movie trailer for his works "Field of Lamb", a psychological thriller about self sacrifice and the limits one will go beyond to have what they want, no matter the cost.</h2><h2><br></h2><h2>Cam Calloway, knowing the challenges of the film industry, started brand building and created his own writing and filming production company, independently called Hornz-N-Haloz Films.</h2><h2><br></h2><h2>Being an avid writer, Cam has conceptual ideas for several genres of film.
