In this episode I chat to Katy Marks, founder of Uno Bra, about her own diagnosis of breast cancer cancer and how that drove her to create a lingerie brand designed for the glorious assymetrical gals. We discuss the challenges of body image, the decision to ditch prosthetics all together, and how body positivity and inclusivity in fashion is actually kinda bullshit.

What Katy has created is a huge step forward for inclusive fashion but we both can't quite believe lingerie like this doesn't already exists. Our conversation highlights how "inclusive fashion" isn't quite living up to it's name.

This week I've had so much going on I haven't managed to get the new episode ready. It's so hard being a one woman show... (it's not just that I'm a chaotic mess). So with that being said I have rehashed an old episode for a fun Throw Back Thursday edition of OLOT.

The sound quality is worse, but the chat is the same realness you'd expect. Plus you get to hear Kates voice again so isn't that a treat!

Anyway, we discuss our sex (or lack of) lives and how hard it is to regain confidence in the bedroom after a cancer diagnosis. This topic is something I find fascinating because literally no one talks about it. It's like no one wants to think about other people having sex. Especially if you've had cancer.

Sam is a celebrity in his own right and is the nicest human ever. I do liken him to Pedro Pascal but Sam didn't know who that was so what a wasted compliment... Anyway, Erin was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer in 2022 just 6 months after me. We chat all things rowing, the importance of exercise during and after cancer, and what it's like dealing with a love ones diagnosis.

We also talk about how nerdy we were at school as me and Erin go wayyyy back to the days of secondary school.

I got my chest cast after my mastectomy in her studio and had the most magical time! I've had my ups and downs with my body image after cancer and I know a lof you listening will feel the same. Whether you've had a visible change, gained wight on steroids, or simply just don't trust your body anymore. You're not alone.

Lydia advocates for self acceptance in everything she does so I just had to get her on the podcast. We chat how growing up in the 90's warped our view of what women should look like (anyone remember the circle of shame?), her own journey of self acceptance, and how she empowers women to accept themselves through her art.

I got to go down to Brighton to record in her studio so apologies if you hear seagulls but I personally love the sound. Anyway I hope you enjoy!

Just bout a year ago Shelley found out she had a place to trek the Himalayas all in the name of breast cancer awareness and CoppaFeel. Over the course of that year she trained her little butt off. lol JK. In true Shelley fashion she left everything to the last minute, went on about 2 training walks, and didn't even know the little rubbery things on the bottom of her walking poles actually came off to reveal the spikes... But also in true Shelley fashion, she cracked on regardless and came away with one hell of an experience, life long friends, a huge sense of purpose, and some very painful knees.

Sadly it’s considered weird if we take off all our clothes though…Today is a bit of a mish mash of topics that kind of relate but mainly we didn’t have enough to say to make them individual episodes which is shocking I know.We take a quick dip in the radiotherapy pool before plunging into hormone therapy and the medical menopause.
