Different Together Episode 4: Identity in Ireland

In Different Together Episode 4 we look at Ireland-specific identity experiences that arise for the participants. We cover differences in relationships to elders, living in multiple cultural experiences inside versus outside of the home, and the very unique situations of difference between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Dafe and Lynne discuss Black and Irish identity, fractured Irish identity in general, and discuss the opportunities in utilized and enacted privilege.

Different Together Episode 3: Do Ask, Don't Ask explores what came up for guests when asked what do they wish people would ask them about their identities, and what do they wish people would stop asking about their identities. Themes included hair, language, and that problematic little question, Where are you from? Dafe and Lynne discuss the aurality of the "Do" answers versus the "Don't" answers, the creation of the episode's montage, and the nature of interview in general.
