Having had careers before going into applied psychology we both found that we shared a curiosity and healthy scepticism about medical and psychological treatments and the politics and theory that underpin them. We came the idea of making this podcast some years later, having both worked in various settings including private practice and the NHS. We still felt that the language around therapies was often jargonistic and unclear. We had talked to other people and knew from experience about how difficult it can be to choose an approach that meets our needs when we are looking for psychological therapy. Our aim in these episodes is to bring some clarity through discussion in plain English.
