The midterms are right around the corner and the GOP has decided to go full middle school bully mode. Next, they’re going to stuff you in a locker and steal your lunch money. And thanks to them, lunch has become very expensive.

This week, we’re joined by our delightful former boss Tom Purcell and our delightful former co-worker Felipe Torres Medina. It feels good to laugh together again.

We talk about the campaign homestretch. In Ohio, Vivek Ramaswamy tried the old “your mama is so estranged” bit, but the answer to “how estranged is she?” really backfired on him. Elsewhere, JD Vance clarified that he’s super not gay, and in South Carolina, another Republican ad stoked the fear that trans people might (gasp) use the supermarket. Also, Donald Trump is winning all the made-up awards and considering naming the ocean after himself. Not really helping those old rumors about liking other people’s pee.

After reporting showed Senator Roger Marshall (R-KS) sued and arrested patients over medical debt, Kansas booed him during a debate. An unprecedented number of renovation projects keep coming to Washington DC under Trump’s watch. Could AI kill us in the next decade? Trump doesn’t seem worried.
