When combining OCD with autism people can become hyper-focused on one particular subject or person.  This hyper-focus can either be healthy if it is a positive special interest or it can be unhealthy if it is a negative special interests.</p><br><p>Travis discusses the differences between obsessions, fixations, and special interests.  He talks about how positive special interests lead to good mental health and negative special interests lead to poor mental health. 			<description><![CDATA[A Neurodivergent Begnning details the life of Travis Breeding.  In part I Travis talks about his experiences in elementary school, middle school, high school, and college.  He will talk about how socialization rules changed when he hit seventh grade and went into middle school.<br /><br />In elementary school girls nurtured Travis and loved to take care of him.  This all changed in middle school once puberty set in.  Travis lost his close connections with a lot of his girl friends and felt lost in middle school.<br /><br />Travis had a best friend named Eric in elementary school who moved away to Iowa in the fifth grade.  Travis never had another best friend all throughout his school years. until he was 25 and met his other best friend Heather.<br /><br />Travis talks about how he went down to Indiana University in Bloomington and felt overwhelmed by the size of the campus and number of students on campus.  He shares that he withdrew from courses at Indiana University after only two weeks there.  <br /><br />Travis took his musical talents to Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana where he ended up being accused of coming on too strong in social relationships and stalking women.  He was asked to take a medical withdraw from IWU and ended up going to Indiana Purdue University in Fort Wayne, Indiana.<br /><br />Travis talks about how he used his financial aid money to pay people to like him.  He shares that he ended up withdrawing from a lot of classes without getting credit.  <br /><br />Travis' life was a train wreck before he finally got a diagnosis of Asperger Syndrome on October 30th, 2007.
