Natasha and her family played a prominent role in the highly revered documentary “Navigating Autism in Communities of Color”. Produced and directed by the esteemed School of History and Sociology and the School of Literature Media and Communication at Georgia Tech, in collaboration with The Color of Autism Foundation. Natasha was chosen by The Autistic Self Advocacy Network (ASAN) as its 2022 recipient of the Creating Community Together Award.. A Prince George’s County native actor, writer, and filmmaker based in New York City. Since arriving to the Big Apple, Kar has made great strides in the acting and filmmaking world. Starting from 2016 as a writer and producer for “Situationships” on BET Digital (currently in development for television with Mona Scott-Young), he has gone on to creating, writing and starring in the spin-off “Wingmen” now streaming on Tubi and KweliTV under Lil Rel Howery’s comedy platform. His other projects include the murder mystery “5KNIVES”, as well as the female led superhero series entitled “DAMSELS” which debuted in 2020’s Afropunk festival and the 2021 Hip Hop Film Festival. His first feature film “Generational Gap” is set to premiere at the 2022 Peachtree Village International Film Festival. He was also a finalist in Sony’s 2020 Rising Storytellers Search and served as a producer for the short films “Daze” and “Desolate Dreams.” As an actor, Kar has made several appearances on television, digital series, and off-Broadway performances.

Dr. Mishi launched Hey Carter! after being disappointed in the lack of representation for Black boys in children’s books. Hey Carter! is inspired by her son, Carter and now daughter Truly. Dr. Booker earned a Master’s in Social Work and a Doctorate in Education Counseling Psychology. She is a licensed therapist and began her career working in early childhood mental at a nonprofit in San Jose where she is from. She is a member of the Black Literary Collective (Building Leaders and Activists with Collective Knowledge) a group of Black authors in the Bay Area working to decolonize educational spaces to ensure Black children have access to culturally relevant content and pedagogy. Dr. Booker supports schools, districts, and childcare centers with training and education goals.

Hey Carter! is a children's brand focused on increasing representation and creating tools for caregivers and educators to support the well-being of Black children.
