We did it... we ploughed straight into the Robert Clouse (Enter the Dragon) directed Canuxploitation adaptation of The Rats and talked it over exclusively for you, our fucken ace patrons.

Small dogs dressed as rats? CHECK

Gore and death? CHECK

References to the touching, probing or stroking of thighs? NONE WHATSOEVER

It was a surprisingly agreeable experience. Now... we must watch Slugs, or we may just have to break up over it.

The Journal of Gerard Arthur Connelly - Chapters added

My dear Chaos Engineers,

As nobody has told me this is shit, I've done some more AND added some music. Still a work in progress and the atmosphere music is just to plug a gap until my mate Johnny Royale gets around to doing some for it. I also realised when I got to the last chapter it was never finished so I haven't recorded that yet. Will have to have a big splurge on the writing front if I come to continue this.

Once the individual chapters have had some attention from The Royale they'll probably end up being dropped at the end of regular shows as an episodic deal or, if they don't really end up working they'll just stay on here as oddities for you glorious patrons.

July is looking like a busier month (at last), I should have The Eternal Champ ep 2 uploaded this week, I'm catching up with Natasha a week tomorrow to round off The Jewel in the Skull and later this month Loz and I will embark upon our tour of the Corum books.

Thanks for sticking with us. We also have a new patron to welcome in the shape of my old mate Robbo (welcome to the select old chum). Also, thanks to Norman for an extra special shot in the arm a few days ago. You're a total gent, no question.

The Journal of Gerard Arthur Connelly (Test audio)

As mentioned a day or two ago I've been having an arse about with some audio and music and have put together a... proof of concept...?

I'm still playing around with it but as I'm enjoying the process I thought I'd share with you all, my dear Chaos Engineers. It would be great to get your thoughts if you're prepared to share them.

This collects chapters 1 to 4 and I have another 5 or so chapters to record before I run out and realise I need to get writing again, which will be interesting as my memory of that old game is now sadly a bit vague. I'd better drink some brain restoring booze! I'm sure that's a thing right?

On a final note for now, when I post these I get a download link but Fred doesn't so I assume none of you do either! Obviously it should show up in your personal patron RSS feed but let me know if you have problems accessing it anywhere other than directly via this page.

Lockdown Special (test edition) with Hussein

So a week or two back we finally got around to testing remote recording. On this occasion we gave Zoom a whirl after I read a few articles that suggested it's a good solution. We learned a few lessons from this experience:
1. It's not an ideal solution
2. I ballsed up the settings and had to fix a lot in Audition (so if it sounds choppy now imagine what it was like before I played around with it). I did need the practice though so a good exercise, even though I still don't really know what I'm doing.
3. Hussein's Tascam mic picks up crying children from 100 paces.
4. I now know what to do next time to substantially increase the quality of the product.
We chew the fat over a number of things as this is the first time we've had a proper meet up since March. If you think we sound like a pair of rambling old farts, this is pretty much our routine. It's just we normally do it in a Dewsbury or Bradford cafe over a desi breakfast.
This is posted here purely as an extra look/listen in to the process of a hobbyist podcast.
I hope you're all well and coping with the weirdness in the world right now.

We're back in Derry & Toms roof gardens to mull over 1970's The Eternal Champion, the novel debut of Erekosë/John Daker.
It's got everything. Bad pronunciation, silly names and nudity.
Phil returns to the co-host chair, we drink Old-Fashioneds and draw comparisons between Noonos and Grimsby, adding that ancient port-town to our list of mildly insulted settlements.
Massive thanks to you all for sticking with me during this gap in production. Phil has given me my mojo back. I hope you enjoy it. Like everyone else we've been going a little bit lockdown crazy but having this outlet and your support is really gratifying.

Patron Exclusive - Extras 01 - Corum w Lindsey

This patron only 'extrasode' contains the prototype episode on Corum with my good pal Lindsey, a fantasy and Moorcock neophyte. At some point it will be re-recorded with the benefit of hindsight, but Lindsey was a good guest and it's a shame we didn't get things quite right.

This episode also includes the original title music that I opted to remove from existing episodes after someone pointed out potential licensing issues. I did prefer it though, so may take the risk and reintroduce it in upcoming shows.
