Welcome to Chile oNDa, a podcast for the Santiago (Chile) Study Abroad program from the University of Notre Dame. In this space, you will find conversations with Chileans and other people living in Chile (whether or not they are directly involved with the Study Abroad program) as a way to learn about life in Chile and the Santiago program, in addition to practicing your Chilean Spanish (all episodes are in Spanish!). Juan Esteban Montes, known by the Santiago program students as Esteban, is director and professor of the University of Notre Dame Santiago Global Center. A man with charisma and a contagious positive attitude, he is incredibly committed to ensuring that the experience of all his students is the best it can be. In this episode, Esteban shares with us the joy he gets from working with exchange students as well as his experience studying abroad in the US as a Chilean. He also explains one of the important components of the Santiago program, the class that he teaches: Chilean Politics and Society.
