On this incredibly special episode of The Graveyard Shift, we honour every single legend in the Deadass community. You traveled, you showed up, and together we made an unforgettable impact for the Get Yourself Checked charity. In the midst of tough times, the community spirit was unmatched. On the day, we raised $2,570 through merch sales—and then Catherine and family from Tabs Superfund Auditors matched that, doubling the impact. Across Australia, donations continued, and our mate Mark Tobin—blown away by the support—made his own generous personal contribution. In total, we hit a whopping $12,040! Everything worked out perfect on the day, the cruise, the pitstops, the punting and raffles.

We also received some epic gifts—like crab measurers from Iron & Bark (shoutout to the anonymous legend who had them sent). We wrapped up the weekend’s highlights and some messages from.you legends and, of course, spotlighted another amazing human of the week. It was a day—and an episode—we’ll never forget!

For the last 5 years they have donated money towards Childhood Cancer Support. In total over the last 11 years, they raised close to $830,000 for a bunch of different charities. This year’s ride will depart Mackay on Saturday 30th August and return back to Mackay on Saturday 6th September. We will be visiting the Atherton Tablelands and the event will close with a celebration dinner for riders and families.

It was unbelievable hearing the yarns from the annual ride and has encouraged myself to participate in next years event.

In 2023, Jesse launched PRKN watches, seeking a new direction outside police work, and in 2024, he left the force to start a career in real estate to help support his passion. Today on the Deadass Podcast, I am thrilled to have Natalya Diehm,an Australian BMX Freestyle competitor. She is a four time and current National Champion, 2 time and current Oceania Champion, 2019 Vans BMX Pro Cup World Champion. Nat proudly represented Australia at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games where she placed 5th (with a ruptured ACL). Nat now have my sights set on qualifying and competing on the 31st July, at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Nat recently competed at the first event of the 2024 Olympic qualifier series held in Shanghai, China. The second Olympic qualifier event is in Budapest, Hungary 20-23 June. Qualification is earned by a combination of points over the two events or selection by a National Olympic Committee of a qualified country (Australia is a qualified nation) As well as qualifying for Paris 2024, Nat have also been invited to compete at X-Games in Ventura California this year, on the 27- 30 of June. This will be the first X-Games in which women have been invited to compete in their own BMX Freestyle event. This is a huge honour for Nat, as history is being made. Nat strongly believes that this will highlight to the younger generation of girls that they can do anything and prove that there is a pathway in this sport to both the Olympics and X Games! Today on the Deadass Podcast. I have my Uncle - Dale Perry who shares some of his life and career as a Police Officer in the Australian Federal Police. Also being a part of the Special Operations Team (SWAT Equivalent). The 29th of November this year marked 30 years since the Jolimont Centre siege that took place in Canberra ACT resulting in the serious wounding of one person and the death of another over the course of two hours. The centre was set on fire and extensive damage was caused by a lone gunman. Dale was called in as apart of the Special Operations Team. In the following years, Dale moved to Queensland to join the Queensland Police Service and continued in the traffic branch riding the the motorcycles. It was great reflecting on some of the stories I heard around the dinner table growing up as a child! Cheers for tuning in..
