Lucas feels slighted by Will Smith, then tells about how his son got in trouble for wearing a particular shirt to Picture Day at school...which might be Lucas's fault. Then Lucas talks about finally watching the conclusion of BETTER CALL SAUL, and whether the show is/was better than BREAKING BAD. It somehow ends up becoming a discussion of past regrets. Devon doesn't want to review a documentary, but ends up reviewing it anyway. Lucas rants about Internet commenters and the terrible misconception people have about prison, which leads into Lucas telling more stories about his time inside and how it's not like the way Hollywood portrays it. And finally, Devon rants about working with passive-aggressive people.

The Uvalde Police Department stands Lucas up, which leads into the discussion of: It is what it is. But what if it isn't? Then Lucas talks about cliffhanger endings and how annoying they are, and lackluster superhero movies. Somehow that leads into Lucas reviewing Ant Man 3 and why it was a "piece of crap." Devon reviews Skin Wars and discusses the glut of reality shows, which causes Lucas to spout off about the "regurgitation" of creativity. Or something like that. Briefs discussion about the Simpsons and SNL. Lucas's rant is about minimum wage and why would anyone argue against someone else being able to support themselves or their family. Devon doesn't have a rant, but instead discusses the differences between a sociopath and a psychopath. This leads into several personal stories where she had to deal with a sociopath who is a family member. Stick around, though, because Lucas gives a test you can use to determine whether or not someone is a sociopath.

Then Lucas reviews the first five episodes of BEEF, while Devon talks about a series she's watching that helps educate viewers on how to spot a psychopath. Hint: They're all around us. You might even be one. Anyway... Lucas rants about middle managers and being forced to attend company events. Devon rants about rising costs of fast food and the decline of good customer service. It all leads to discussions of, "Whatever happened to 'the customer is always right'?" and "Where did the dollar menu go?"

Our guest is a no-show. Lucas has to explain a joke. Devon likes Ali Wong until she finds out who she's dating. Lucas reviews seasons 1 and 2 of Loki. Devon reviews back-to-back documentaries about Natalia Grace. Then Lucas breaks his rule about not discussing religion and rants about God. Sort of. Okay, he rants about why God always gets credit for the good stuff, but never blamed for the bad stuff. Devon's rant is about micro-managers at work, which leads to workplace stories. And we finally learn the truth about why Lucas left his job at a large department store he refuses to name. (Hint: He had a huge "target" on his back.)

Guest, guest, where's the guest? Lucas asks what happened to the promise of a taco truck on every corner. He also reviews (finally!) the first season of Severance. Devon reviews the Hulu miniseries Candy, and compares it to the superior Love and Death, which covered the same true-life murder case. Somehow it leads to the discussion of: Has Jessica Biel ever starred in something good? Lucas does a coffee ad for a company that hasn't (so-far) sponsored us, then does a rant about life after prison. Lucas says there aren't enough resources for people getting out of prison and how the system is designed to be a revolving door. There are some entertaining (subjective) stories about life inside prison, and the culture shock of getting out after a long time behind bars. Devon does a rant about women travelling alone, but really, it's an educational talk about how to stay safe (while travelling) no matter your gender.

Lucas performs a sick guitar riff (not really) and the usual bad news about our guest. Devon asks important questions such as, Is Lucas in a bad mood? Did Howard Stern sell out? Can there be a fat vampire? Then Lucas reviews the Michael J. Fox documentary, Still, and Devon reviews the Andy Samberg comedy, Palm Springs. Lucas "improvs" the commercial, and then it's time for the rants. But...

No rants this episode. Instead, Lucas comes clean about his "dirty" past: He once served time in prison. He tries to dispel many of the myths of prison life and how it's not really like what you see in the movies. Devon talks about it from her side and what it was like having, and visiting, a family member in prison. And then the two siblings end the episode talking about life after prison and how the entire system should be overhauled.

No guest (is there ever?), no commercial, and a bombshell gets dropped about Lucas's past.

But first, Lucas reviews a trainwreck of a movie (Amsterdam), and Devon reviews the Elizabeth Olsen miniseries, Love & Death. Then Lucas rants about tattletales at work (also known as "snitches") and how a poorly worded email got him in trouble and could have potentially cost him his job. It leads into Devon's rant about backstabbers at work, which leads into a conversation about backstabbers in life and family. And then Lucas and Devon talk about when is the right time to call the police, and how things are different now then when they were kids. They talk about their parents and their dysfunctional family...and somewhere along the line they let it slip that Lucas once served time in prison.

Yep. Definitely going to be a "lost classic."

Back after a summer break, guest Alec Baldwin stands us up. Lucas reviews season 2 of The Bear, and Devon reviews the documentary, "There's Something's Wrong with Aunt Diane." No check from the sponsor this week, so you know what that means: You can take your finger off the skip button. There's no commercial. Moving on... Lucas rants about billionaires and the crazy way they spend their money, such as an ill-fated submarine trip or shooting a car into outer space. Devon's rants about student loans and having to pay $40,000 a year in interest (no, that's not a typo).

Note: This episode was recorded just days before the PSLF Program (i.e. student loan forgiveness) went into effect.

Kaley Quo...Kaley Cuckoo...(however you say her name) movie, Meet Cute. But first, of course, our guest cancelled. So we deal with that. After the reviews and obligatory (that's a fancy way of saying "the sponsor paid us") commercial, Lucas rants about Internet trolls, and trollish behavior in general. Then Devon talks about what it was like having two pet wolves, and the dos and don'ts involved in raising wolves. Which somehow becomes a discussion about why people have pets at all. Devon understands it. Lucas doesn't.

Lucas is confused about what show he's on. No, it's not WTF, Lucas. It's DST. Anyway... What the hell? No guest again? Yep, another cancellation! Moving on: Lucas gives a quick review of the documentary about Gilbert Gottfried. Devon reviews Poker Face and compares it to a (better) book with a similar premise. There's actually commercial ad copy to read instead of Lucas winging it. Then Lucas rants about the two party political system and how he doesn't like Democrats or Republicans, comparing them to two incompetent managers. Then Devon attempts to educate people about schizophrenia, and what you should and shouldn't say to someone who admits they suffer from mental illness. (Mostly "shouldn't" say stuff.)

A debate about whether DiCaprio is a good actor (Lucas says "yes") and if Brad Pitt is a better actor than Leo (Devon says "yes"). Lucas doesn't have ad copy, so he wings the commercial. Lucas rants about comedy and Cancel Culture, and Devon rants about buying clothes online and getting scammed by a migraine pen. Oh, and Devon's dog acts up a couple of times. Lucas was supposed to edit it out, but decided not to.

How can you be successful in law school while your classmates try to sabotage you? Then Lucas rants about tipping and asks the question: Has it gotten completely out of control? Also, is it okay for a homeless person to spend money on scratch-off tickets?
