1970 Le Mans 24h winner Richard Attwood

In his racing career, Richard has successfully peddled some of the most iconic racing cars produced by Lotus, BRM, Maserati, Ferrari and Porsche - the marque that Richard was driving at the 1970 Le Mans 24h race in the Porsche 917K.

As you will hear in this week's podcast, despite his accolades, Richard is a very humble man and shares his stories with great humility. ON SUNDAY, we talk to the man that has orchestrated the event and the Goodwood estate as we know it today, his grace, The Duke of Richmond, followed by BTCC legend and Le Mans racing driver Darren Turner. Miles and John then found racing driver Justin Law who, unbeknown to us, hadn't had the best race. We then found the MD of Praga Cars, Mark Harrison. We then bump into the racing driver, Goodwood celebrity and friend of the show James Wood before catching up with historic motorsport engineer Karim Demynn as he prepared to see his 1950s Ferrari 250 Testarossa compete. We round off the event by talking to Le Mans legend Andy Wallace, racing driver Stuart Morley and one last catch-up with Jake Hill following a saga that will no doubt be talked about for generations.

Pawn Shops to Porsches with Paul Cockell - Rennsport

When you think of back-dated bespoke Porsche 911 builds, a small number of companies spring to mind that are renowned for high-quality work in the field, and Rennsport is definitely one of those companies.

This week, John Marcar is joined for a chat by Rennsport's Managing Director, Paul Cockell. Paul shares his fantastic story of how he went from working as a young workshop apprentice to the managing director of his own custom Porsche 911 workshop in the Cotswolds.

As is often the way, Paul's journey isn't what you would necessarily call 'conventional'; however, it features a few great stories you will enjoy in this episode. Paul's career features chapters involving running a small workshop, his own limousine hire company and even a Pawn Shop in Leamington Spa before venturing back to his original calling, working on and building classic Porsche 911s.

Brian Klein - Top Gear Director & Author, is back!

Brian Klein is best known to an automotive audience for his work as a television director on BBC Top Gear with Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond and this week joins John Marcar for his second appearance on The Driven Chat Podcast.

Brian first worked with Jeremy Clarkson in the 1990s as the director of stocking-filler videos and DVDs, mainly featuring exploding caravans, supercar shootouts and grand pianos being dropped onto Austin Allegros. Following a massive success with Clarkson in the late 90s-early-00s, Brian later became an integral part of the relaunch of BBC Top Gear and the rest, as they say, is history.

Martin Donnelly - The F1 Driver who 'probably should be dead'

This week, F1 racing driver Martin Donnelly joins John Marcar and a very special guest host Miles Lacey for the latest Driven Chat Podcast. Martin Donnelly is perhaps best known as the survivor of a horrifying 170mph crash whilst testing his Lotus F1 car at the Jerez Circuit in 1990. It was a crash that would end his F1 career but against all odds, not his life.

In this week's podcast, John and Miles speak to Martin about his unorthodox route to F1, coming from a small town in Northern Ireland amidst the infamous 'troubles' of the 1970s and 80s and learn how a young opportunist ended up competing in Formula 3 and Formula 3000 before later signing a contract with the globally renowned Chapman Family to drive for Lotus in Formula 1.

Martin shares some fantastic stories of his younger years and takes us through to the fateful day that ended his career with his own personal account of events and the week leading up to the incident.

Chasing the Dream with Miss Emma Walsh

This week, the presenter, performer and content creator, Miss Emma Walsh, joins John Marcar for the latest Driven Chat Podcast. Emma was brought up in a family of performers, with her parents starring in the 1970s-80s pop group The Dooleys. With such a strong musical influence, it's perhaps no surprise that Emma also went on to pursue a career in music. Later in life, Emma also appeared on our TV screens as a character in the popular UK TV series Made in Chelsea.

Celebrating 100 years of Carroll Shelby - with Aaron Shelby

Carroll Shelby is known, loved and celebrated as the iconic name that made fast cars even faster. Aaron still plays a crucial role working within the organisation and legacy founded by his grandfather as a board member of Carroll Shelby International, which has been operating since 1962.

This year, in 2023, the international motoring community celebrates 100 years since the birth of Shelby with fitting celebrations and tributes. In the UK, an extra-special tribute is being organised at the Goodwood Revival Meeting in September with an assembly of cars that Carroll helped design, develop, and, in his earlier career, race at circuits worldwide - including Goodwood.

Aaron joins Amy and John to talk about the build-up to the Goodwood Revival celebration and share some of his incredible memories of his grandfather from when he was a child right up to when his Grandpa passed in 2012.

In November 2022, we had the privilege of attending the Royal Automobile Club’s Art of Motoring Exhibition at the prestigious Sotheby’s Bond Street, London.
