Lets do this one last time! We (your parents) pick up where we left off last week talking to Eddie (your Uncle) and Kathy (your Ganny) about their favorite childhood memories. We all share stories about summers with cousins, Lady in Red, things we are grateful our parents documented or preserved for us (like we are with this podcast for you), and we play a game of Guess That Celebrity Baby Photo. Kiera, we love you so much and we are so glad we get to share all of these memories with you of the journey we had to meeting you. We (your parents) can't believe it, but here we are at the end of our journey. From the first moment Kristen (your Mom) and Taylor (your Dad) found out and began expecting you over a Facetime call, to them (your parents) getting engaged, from morning sickness to mastitis, from poppy seed to c-section it's been one incredible ride. In part one of the finale to our time capsule podcast, we have a very special guest on. Eddie Alderson! AKA Uncle Eddie! And with him (drum roll please) Kathy Alderson AKA Ganny, is back! We (your parents) talk to Eddie about how he felt when he first heard he'd be an uncle to what is was like being at the hospital moments before Kiera (you) was born. We also talk about Ganny being a very nice squeaky wheel and we start to share some of our favorite childhood memories.

Full Term! Week 39

We (your parents) cover all sorts of topics from our High School Proms, Kristen's (your Mom's) kissing phase, Taylor's (your Dad's) college nights, how we are entering the "Parents Club" and of course we follow up on the overly dramatized "pelvic exam" doctors visit from last week. You'll be shocked to hear what happened... or didn't happen haha.

Daddy's on the Road Week 38

This is the first week after Taylor (your Daddy) has hit the road for work, being gone for 6 days and makin that cash money for the family. While we (your parents) catch up, we talk about the due date coming up, Kristen (your Mom) wanting her water to break in public, what we (your parents) love most about each other, and Taylor (your Dad) expresses why he normally loves going to all doctor appointments but why he's against this weeks.

New Parent Resolutions! Ringing in 2024 with Week 36

For the first time during her pregnancy, Kristen (your Mommy) is finally feeling some of the late pregnancy woes as it's getting harder to walk, sleep, and worries seem to come out of no where. But on the bright side, the show got it's first affiliate! Hidden Hills Coffee! A blessing, in every cup. And also in Kristen's (your Mom's) belly. In this episode we (your parents) talk about our favorite Christmas traditions, games, strangest gifts we've received and hilarious story that happened this Christmas we will never let someone live down.

The Baby Shower! Week 31

Taylor (your Dad) talks abouts about how to handle random negative thoughts that pop in your head and Kristen (your Mom) thinks that everyone wants to stab her belly now when she's out in public. Kiera (you) are now the size of a coconut!

Taylor (your Dad) had to troll some online trolls with kindness as they bashed our very cute and very tasteful pregnancy photos. Lets Take a Baby Moon! Week 27

It's the last week of Kristen's (your Mom's) second trimester and her and Taylor (your Dad) went on a BABY MOON! This week they (your parents) get some much needed R&R up at the Alderson Family mountain house. Kristen (your mom) tells about all the family history of the house, growing up there, and imagining what it will be like creating new memories there with Kiera (you)! Body wise this week, Kristen (your Mom) is starting to get some lower back pain, can't seem to stay comfy for long and one boob is bigger than the other. Taylor (your Dad) did his research on just what a lactation consultant does and he shares what he believes is the secret to him and Kristen (your Mom) having such a strong, happy, loving relationship.

It's week 22 of Kristen's (your Mom's) pregnancy and if there's one thing she hates doing, it's breathing exercises. This week we talk about all the traits we hope Kiera (you) gets and hopefully doesn't get of ours; that includes a big head ego wise... and physically. We (your parents) are all over this place this week talking about drugs, positive affirmations, nipple size, can your belly button "untie" and how obsessed we are with each other. Kristen (your Mom) has a small pregnancy scare, and Taylor (your Dad) tell his story about auditioning for America's Got Talent and how he wants Kiera (you) to learn that getting a "No" is just one step closer to getting a "Yes." We (your Parents) also did a live charity stream and raised over $1,000 for an amazing organization WAR CHILD! Helping kids affected by war zones have the childhood they deserve. What a week!

We Got to See YOU! Anatomy Ultrasound Week 20

It's week 20 of Kristen's (your Mom's) pregnancy and Taylor (your Dad) is gonna sing all about it! This week was very exciting because we had the much anticipated 20 week anatomy ultrasound and it didn't disappoint. We (your parents) could have watched Kiera (you) kickin and punchin all day long. Truly, the coolest experience so far. Besides the anatomy appointment, on this week's episode we (your parents) explain why it's so important that Kiera (you) watches the movie Grease, Kristen (your Mom) does a play by play of Taylor (your Dad) killing a Lantern Fly, and we (your parents) have a civil, non-argumentative, healthy, discussion as to why people might sleep in separate beds. It's a fun one!

This is a very special week because we get to talk to Kristi Brown, Taylor's (your Dad's) Mommy as she just happened to be driving through Harlem and popped over for a chat. We are very excited to share this episode with all of you and especially you Kiera. Kristi talks all about her experience of being a mother at the age of 17, being scared to share that news with her father (your Great Grandfather), the joys of being a mother and how she finally understands why Grandparents who live far away from their Grandchildren get fomo and need to move closer. And most importantly, we try and figure out just what in the world you should call her! Because she's too young, badass and cool to just be called "Grandma."

Her Ears are on her Neck?! Week 14 & 15

It's weeks 14 AND 15 of Kristen's (Your Mom's) pregnancy because... well, we got busy and didn't record last week. And lets be honest, because that happened once, we will probably start skipping weeks all the time now. In this episode we find out all sorts of things about what Kiera (you) is doing in there. Her bones are developing, her lanugo hairs are keeping her warm, and her ears have moved from her neck to her head! Who knew?!

Also, Kristen's (your Mom's) body starts shifting and changing. And Taylor (your Dad) talks about why he has been having "Sad Boy Days" and worrying about money. We (your parents) also discuss one positive trait of ours that we hope Kiera (you) gets, and one negative trait of ours we hope she (you) absolutely does not get. Then we play a game of Would You Rather, Parent Edition! Which... ended up being kind of lame. Enjoy!!

WE HAVE A NAME!! It's week 13 here at Expecting You and Kristen (your Mom) and Taylor (your Dad) decided it was a good idea to record another late night episode because clearly they weren't tired and cranky enough in the last one. Baby (you) has a name, but Kristen (your Mom) doesn't want anyone to know yet. So she proceeds to say it over and over again this entire episode causing me (your Dad) to do a lot of extra editing. This week covers everything from when we think it's appropriate to teach sex education, to the Barbie movie, and most importantly, how Kristen (your Mom) still believes in Santa Claus (which means you probably still do too).
