1 year. It has already been one year since I left the apiary. My work. My home. I wandered the surrounding area and passed into new territories of this still unfamiliar country. there are so many different species of bees here and they all behave just a little bit differently. It was part of what drew me to this country. I love all fauna but bees have always been special. My family has been beekeepers for generations. It is why i was able to find work so quickly at the apiary. It is what allowed me to climb through the ranks so quickly and be trusted with a large number of my own hives. I carved my symbol into the brood boxes; an ankh with a bee within representing my family's work and heritage. It was the last step in feeling that this place and I were connected. The thing that truly made it my home in this land.

Cub, the storm clouds that retreated from our home won’t be gone forever. Our new friend Kadein has spent the last weeks recovering as much as he can in our town. It is time for him to seek the refuge that his soul yearns for. He is not the only one leaving. This area has proved too dangerous for my litter currently. The setting up of a residence no longer in the mountains proved to be a problem in late May of 1465. Drawing closer to the town of Marion ended up netting the Mother Bear in its problems. The initial forays of the Plum Orchard were bought off with blood or wealth. The cost to Calisto was slight since she was able to reclaim the animi of her followers, resulting in a reset of progress but no real loss. During the 4th Incursion, two different sets of opposing force took up residence in the town (Draco Minora and Fata Equitavit) who pushed the town into rebellion against the incursion from the Sunless. Also present was one of the Novak clan, unsure which party they were there to assist. One party managed to convince Calisto herself to commit her followers once again. The results of the battle laid the ground work for the Marion rebellion of 1466…

• Built of reclaimed materials Fog Strider was once a Dromon and one of the 100 of her type helped in the Emperor Nicephoros Phocas retake pirate outposts in the Mediterranean Sea
• Initially retired to her home port of Ithaca in 1230 she was recalled to the siege of Constantinople where she was sunk in the Black Sea
• Salvage rights were eventually claimed by a Dramari Drazdov in 1463 and after that the ship becomes urban legend sailing rivers which half a millenia after it was commissioned
• Even the rumors of the ship drop off after April of 1465, it was last spotted in the village of Chisinau

I know that you read these descriptions even if nobody else does ;p Today was weird and a bit scary, but not as weird as this painting we had to talk about today. Jacopo del Sellaio's St John the Baptist. Taken piecemeal there are some really cool things about it. I absolutely love the background skyline (it is one of the earliest painted views of Florence!), but the rest of the piece looks like it was a puzzle done by a dozen hands some more talented than others. Apparently subcontracting was always a thing? Like you would be hired to do a portrait but you'd just do the main dude. Then you could hire a guy to do the sky and another to do the crappy mushrooms to fill in space, apparently they call those trees but our cousin sparrow could do those better and she's still finger painting. At least the birds are cute even if it looks like poor John is just there because his mom made him take a school photo.

Nefesim, it has been months since I have gotten to be near you. I shall rectify that as soon as possible. Very soon I will be falling downriver to you. Our efforts to the west are going well. Soon the rebels will be crushed and Wallachia will be restored as you had ordered. I hope to present you with a nice field this summer. The traitor Casimir’s troops seem to be supported by many servants similar to myself. This makes pushing into the cloud covered canopy difficult unless I am present across several battle fields a week.

With soldiers who had my firepower it would be easy to unite the land by harvest time. WHY HAVEN’T WE?!?

It would be easier to identify when the enemy has beyond mortal support if you would tell me more about WHAT WE ARE, BUT NO THAT WOULD BE...

I would like to once again raise the option to train and empower another lieutenant or two. I would even take up the cost in terms of time and effort. The courier for this missive is a person who I feel a kinship with and have cultivated his loyalty. I know that you have yet to approve of the turning of Vesna but this is my second best trainee. I have sent him with a vial of our blood which he is to drink in the event of an emergency or with your blessing. With your permission I will continue to train him. If it fits within your wishes then I need to know the next step. I have the barest understanding of what we are capable of.
