Her camp focuses on fun wellness activities with empowering coaching to build a positive self-image, emotional intelligence, and strong leadership skills.

Tara shares her story of how she was the primary caregiver for her husband Gregor in 2020 when he was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. She was pregnant with their twins and had to navigate her way through appointments and hold on to hope. A monumental devastation to their family.

Today Tara is giving back to carry on Gregor's Legacy. She created and registered her charity, "Gregor's Gift" and is working tirelessly to raise money so that she can give back to caregivers in a variety of different ways.

On November 30th Tara is hosting "A Night of Hilarity" at the Burlington Performing Arts Centre." Please grab yourself a ticket and come out OR watch the show virtually. This is a much needed cause that we can all get on board with and support.

Having met Rob only a handful of times, today felt like catching up with an old friend.

Hearing Rob talk about his challenges from being picked on in school, to rebuilding his business after a studio fire and losing both of his parents was an honest share about how heart breaking life can be at times. Being on the other side of these hardships, Rob stands by the fact that good things can still blossom after we experience loss and grief.

Listening to Rob describe his creative process and the magic that happens when new ideas come to him was really interesting. The twists and turns that have taken place in Rob's career and how he got to be a full time artist is an inspiring story for anyone working hard on their passion.

I really didn't want to let Rob get back to work today, I could have talked to him for hours.

Darnell's happy place is on the roller rink and it has been since the mid seventies. He's never departed from rolling, Darnell has kept it up and witnessed many changes in skate culture throughout the decades.

I loved it when Darnell explained how the sport truly brings people together, no matter what your skin colour or background is. It's a sport where it's easy to make new friends, learn about people and practice love and compassion.

Darnell's wish is that everyone, no matter what age would come out to skate. He describes the feeling it can give you so eloquently. It's not like a runner's high or creative high, it's something else, something truly magical.

It was wonderful to hear about Don's dreams as a young boy and how he's making dreams come true today for kids all over Halton with the amazing programs he runs at ArtHouse.

I learned a lot today from Don. He is a philanthropist who knows exactly how to build relationships, keep relationships and collaborate with people to raise money for our most vulnerable.

There is a whole story about a HUGE accomplishment he made prior to ArtHouse! He raised over $7,000,000 to build a hospice for children in Toronto.

Don's story is a heartfelt one, if you are someone who wants to give back to community, Don is a great mentor!

Jared, or as some of you may know him, rollerouge, did not set out with a dream to roller skate as a profession. Jared was on a completely different trajectory.

When Covid hit in 2020, his plans were derailed and he found his mental health was suffering.

One day Jared decided to go into his parent's garage and that's where he found his Dad's old roller skates. The rest is history. Now Jared rolls through life grabbing unique opportunities that come his way.

Life is good in this young man's world. His attitude about life and all of it's important lessons will lift your spirits and encourage you to try something new.

In this interview WhiteEagle shares about having parents who were survivors of the residential school system. At the young age of five, White Eagle was removed from her home as a result of the "Sixties Scoop" and was placed into Children's Aid until she was released at age 18.

With all of the hardship WhiteEagle has endured in her life she has committed herself to healing. She connects with her ancestral blood line and uses her gifts to connect with spirit and provide healing not only for herself but also for others.

You will learn about sacred ceremonies that WhiteEagle performs in the community and what you can do to participate and become an ally of the Indigenous community.

We have so much to learn, there is a great amount of healing to be done.

Tonia shares her story about how she was influenced as a young girl by her Uncle to listen to opera and classical music.

Her later fascination with Newfoundland's Nightingale of the North, Georgina Stirling (1867-1935) led Tonia to becoming the incredible artist she is today. Tonia researched Georgina's life story along with her grandfather, which led her on many magical paths. These included writing a biography and creating music as a tribute to Georgina.

Wait until you hear about some of the interesting people who supported Tonia on her quest to bring Georgina's story to light.

Dawn and Dave were a delight to talk to. Now both in their 60's, they are still waltzing on the rink at Scooter's Roller Palace on Thursday and Sunday nights.

Dawn is just as keen as ever to keep learning and improving her skills and she loves to do that with Dave. The two of them share their separate experiences about roller skating competitively and how they got started. Both of their stories are so different and interesting.

Dave also takes us on a special trip back in time to when there were some extraordinary roller events happening in Toronto. You'll wish we could bring them back, hmmmmm . . . (might be something to work on)

We all agreed in our discussion that there is a real magic about this sport, once you enter the rink, your troubles are left outside.

You will love this story of roller skating, partnership and why communication is key if you want to master the waltz.

We began our chat addressing some excellent questions from her Weather Network viewers! Kim's answers were very enlightening, there are so many things about weather forecasting and climate change that we need to be informed about.

The second part of the interview we talked about Kim's decision to have a tattoo of sunflowers across her chest, five years after her Breast cancer diagnosis and mastectomy.

My favourite part is when Kim talks about partnering with Breast Cancer Canada and how she felt when she saw her bare chest on a billboard at Dundas Square in Toronto.

When Kim was diagnosed with Breast cancer in 2016, she made a decision to share her story with the public. She has not stopped since then.

The two of them met as kids in 1952 and went on their first date in 1967 to see "Barefoot In the Park", outside at a park. When Monica playfully invited Jim to take off his socks and shoes to run barefoot through the park with her, she was testing him. Much to her surprise he was happy to do so and she knew from that day on this was a guy she could have some fun with.

Still laughing and enjoying adventures together to this day, Monica and Jim generously share their personal story along with some great tips for a happy, long lasting marriage.

Rose started in music at the young age of 4. When I asked her, "What did little Rose want to be when she grew up?" the answer was not what I expected.

Rose pours out her heart and soul about whey she is so passionate about music and how it has the power to heal our youth, like it healed her when she was having her own struggles. There were a few tears as she covered off topics like bullying, eating disorders and feeling isolated as a teen. Her experience led to her creating "Music Saves" her non-for-profit foundation, which aims to impart onto troubled youth the healing capacity of music.

Rose also advocates for a "clean" lifestyle in her profession. She is working hard to take the glamour out of rock stars consuming drugs and alcohol. She has witnessed it destroy the lives of so many talented musicians and industry people. Rose is an incredibly talented trail blazing rock star! She's doing it HER way!

Today she and her partner run an incredible business that teaches Canadians how to retire to the breathtaking Azores. Residing part time on Pico Island, they are resident experts empowering people to change their lives and invest in property in Portugal.

Kathy shares with us what it was like to be raising her kids in the early 70's when her husband decided to start a landscaping business.

Kathy then had to continue that business on her own in 1993 when he suffered a fatal heart attack. Kathy also ventured into retail in 2003 when she opened Bronze Frog Gallery in Oakville, Ontario.

In this interview Carolyn tells us what it was like for her growing up in Oakville in the 70's and 80's and the issues that her family faced, leaving her orphaned at the age of 17.

Her life has had it's own set of challenges along the way including her own daughter having an accident five years ago where she suffered severe trauma to her brain. Carolyn is at the point now where she feels passionate about becoming an advocate for parents going through what she went through, with no support.

She wants to be there for them, every step of the way. Carolyn is extremely upbeat and positive all the while sharing the whole truth about the hurdles she navigates through on a daily basis. T

Marie took over Le Blanc Mouton from her parents several years ago. Located in the heart of Quebec City at the bottom of a cliff with a view of Chateau Frontenac this boutique is one of the most exquisite and unique shops you will ever encounter.

When Covid closed down the world as we knew it, not only did Marie have to save her own business but as President of the area's Co-op she also had to make a strong plan for the livelihood of the businesses in Quartier Petit Champlain.

Starting from her early years in Jamaica to when she came to Canada on her own at the tender age of 17, Khalilah has had a fascinating life with many twists and turns.

At the age of 39 she found a lump in her breast and was diagnosed with cancer shortly after. Even with this diagnosis and a tough road ahead, Khalilah kept her positive outlook on life. Her healthy mindset is what's taken her through the toughest times in her life.

When she and her husband took a leap to open "Big Smoke Burger" at the end of 2019, they were hit with uncertainty from the pandemic soon after. As you will quickly find out in this interview, not a cancer diagnosis or a pandemic will keep this woman from reaching for her dreams!

Having grown up experiencing the trauma of what the residential schools did to the people in her family and community, Simone pursues art as a way to work through her challenges and help with her healing.

Lee started the interview by indulging me in her early beginnings, describing the first time she stepped on stage and how as a young girl she would hang out at this cool rock n' roll party house down the street where she met a great musician named Burton Cummings.

We talked about what the music scene was like in the 80's for a trailblazing woman like Lee and how she has continued to stay current in the rock genre but was also not afraid to explore jazz and blues as well.

Her latest album "Radio On" is exceptional and she stays true to her brand by empowering women with her strong and thoughtful song lyrics. At 21 years old I don't think Lee had any idea that the songs she wrote back then would continue to inspire and heal us as we all grew up together.

Thank goodness Lee found her voice as a young girl and became a true rock legend, she always was and continues to be wise beyond her years.

Cat was rockin' and rollin' pre-pandemic! She had her own successful marketing company and was touring all over Europe as the drummer in an all guys band!

I have LOVED Maie since her early days at CFNY 102.1 when they were still "The Spirit of Radio". Her voice continues to be so melodic and happy, she is a beautiful ray of sunshine! We started our interview with some 80's trivia and then Maie shared incredible stories about how it was for her coming up in radio in the early years to now working her dream job where she gets to have daily interaction with her listeners, taking their requests and learning about what the songs mean to them.

Having been diagnosed with Autism at the age of 32 after her son was also diagnosed, Kelly found answers to so many questions she was challenged with her entire life.

Through her own self-discovery, she is now helping families and people with Autism to make life choices that work for them. She doesn't want anyone to feel restricted by the limitations that may have been imposed on them. There is more than one way of doing things. I learned so much about Autism from Kelly, the different degrees of the spectrum and how important awareness is for all of us.

Esmée was so open and honest about her own life and what led her to wanting to help others with hypnotherapy. We also touched on past life regression and what it’s like to work with people in their soul’s realm. Esmée provides so much healing with her work. Starting out as a nurse 30 years ago and taking a path which led her to opening her store, Body Med Boutique in 2011, and starting the Camisole Project in 2012. This career change was something Barb wanted to do to serve her community in Burlington Ontario. Little did she know she would be giving her support to women across Ontario, providing them with exactly what they needed - post breast cancer surgery to help with recovery. When I asked our Mayor what she wanted to be when she grew up it had nothing to do with becoming a Mayor. As a matter of fact growing up as an extroverted introvert her best friends were often her books! Did you know she actually wrote her own book?

Rochelle shares her story about how she got into Real Estate with her brother back in the late 90's.

Her career ended up taking a completely different path than what she originally set out to become in high school. Real estate has also served as a vehicle for Rochelle to give back to her community in a big way.

She created an annual event called "Light Up the Beach". You will love hearing Rochelle explain how she and her team get 80,000 lights up on trees for their community to enjoy every Christmas season. This event is one of the many ways she raises funds for the Michael Garron Hospital Foundation.

Elana is the founder of "Bubbles & Baubles", a beautiful Valentine's event to raise money for the London Children's Hospital Foundation.

I'm excited to chat with Elana about how she will be hosting the event virtually this year. I also want to chat with Elana is to learn about her career and what it was like to go from studying and practicing midwifery starting in 1979 to becoming the only practicing midwife in London and it's surrounding area for several years.

Elana became the president of the Association of Ontario Midwives from 1988-1989, and met with the government to advance the recognition of midwifery and funding as an issue of equity. She began working with colleagues to work toward legislation, including supporting local midwifery consumers and allies to form the local chapter of the Midwifery Task Force of Ontario.

Elana is a wonderful, generous and loving person.

Catherine spent 20 years in the fashion jewelry world, which included retail and owning her own successful wholesale company.

On a whim, Catherine decided to get her real estate license and has never looked back. She found her true calling. She has spent the last 15-years as a top-performing real estate salesperson with the Wright Sisters in Toronto, Ontario.

When Catherine isn’t busy guiding buyers and sellers through their experiences, she’s exploring the city on her bicycle, renovating her home, spoiling her nieces and nephews, immersing herself in her Reiki practice, practicing yoga or enjoying her cottage in northern Ontario with her friends and fur babies.

Tracy is the founder of Tracy's Wine Jellies, a family owned business that has been manufacturing her award winning jellies since 1997. @tracyswinejelly are located in the heart of the Niagara Wine Region; Niagara-on-the-Lake. Local fruits and wines are used to make all of their handcrafted products. Their Wine Jellies make wonderful easy appetizers. They pair so well with a fine cracker, and a variety of cheeses such as Camembert, Brie, Cream Cheese, and Cheddar.

Most recently, Tracy has introduced 7 flavours of Craft Beer Jellies. These flavourful jellies are made from beer that comes from micro-breweries in the Niagara region.

I met Tracy back in the 90's when we were both getting started in our businesses. Tracy has been through her share of ups and downs over the years and her business has stayed strong.

Growing up in small town Ontario (Parkhill to be exact), not exactly the heartbeat of style, Caroline has always been fascinated by fashion. “I think I was consistently overdressed for every event, church picnic and piano recital I attended in Parkhill. In fact, I’m pretty sure I still am,” says Caroline. She never studied art in high school, although she did try to take a fashion course only to find the class enrollment too low for it to run in the small high school she attended. Nevertheless, creating was a consistent part of Caroline’s life and her parents always encouraged her sewing, painting, stamping, and flower arranging projects.

Upon her graduation from highschool, in true spreading-her-wings form, Caroline left home to attend University in Toronto and get her dose of big city life. The city was good to her, the biology degree she chose to pursue, not so much. It was during this time that a fabulous friend introduced her to a wonderful place called a bead store and the love affair began.

Refusing to let Organic Chemistry and Immunology get the best of her, Caroline did finish her degree, but not before plotting her next move- a Bachelor of Interior Design at Ryerson University. “I didn’t know much about interior design per se, but I did know that I had strong design opinions and a bit of a fascination with business, so I thought interior design would be a good fit for me. And I knew that as a designer I would be expected to look great on the job. This I knew I could live with.” Four years later, degree in hand, Caroline packed up and moved to her father’s homeland of Jamaica to design with Sandals resorts for two years. The love of beads grew through all of these life experiences and Caroline may or may not have loaded her carry-on luggage with upwards of 20 kg of beads to take back to Montego Bay.

Upon her return to Canada (and Parkhill), a little worn out from her Caribbean experience (go figure), Caroline couldn’t think of anything she’d rather do than try to make a business out of a hobby she loved so much. She had sold her jewelry to family and friends and even a few people she didn’t know over the years, but it had always been a means to buy more beautiful beads. Could this hobby become her career? Maybe. With encouragement from everyone – family, friends and even strangers – Her jewelry business, "Tweak" was born.

I met Caroline three years ago at a very special event called Bubbles & Baubles, held in London Ontario to raise money for their Children's Hospital Foundation.

They are a proudly indie multi-faceted creative duo bent on creating unique handmade accessories that share their love of pop culture and other weird and wonderful things. Since 1999, they've been blending together elements of pop indulgence, hands-on crafting and graphic design to create thousands of product options including rings, cufflinks, belt buckles, magnets, and home décor items like clocks, prayer candles, and more.

Their business and work has evolved and changed over the years. Many of their fans, like me, know them as Barbie’s Basement Jewellery. Though it is still their legal name, they use BBJ Pop Merch to better represent the products they are making now. The last couple of years has brought some new techniques and products to their creative toolkit, and Ange and Robin are both excited to move in this direction with a signature line of custom type-based tees and other apparel and gifts. They call this collection Glitter Garage inspired by their pretty and gritty downtown studio. Robin especially likes playing with words, and Glitter Garage seems like a natural progression from Barbie’s Basement to her. (Fun fact: she first used the Barbie’s Basement name in the late 1990’s while living in a high-rise.)

This dynamic couple has also worked together as Trixie & Beever for many years, creating installations, performances, mixed-media art pieces and set designs. Ange has begun painting solo again with a series called Original Covers, using existing art/decor as a base for unexpected additions and absurd juxtapositions. Her salon shows have been great fun, and her work is enthusiastically received and collected. Some of her redirected images have found their way into BBJ fancy brooches and serving trays, and will be cross-pollinating other accessories and apparel soon. Ange and Robin are proudly queer women who believe in equality for all. They support community efforts in mental health and housing, uphold treaty rights, affirm trans identities, and state unequivocally that Black Lives Matter.

I am lucky enough to have known these two girls for over 20 years and I can't wait for you to meet them both!

Julie founded her company, Wish & Give, after working in the non-profit sector for nearly 20 years.

In her spare time she would volunteer at a local food bank. With all of her experiences combined, Julie wanted to find a way to solve two problems -

1) Small charities not getting enough funding.

Susie is a Firefighter, Personal Trainer and Outdoor Enthusiast.

Her drive to work in a physical environment is the impetus for her career in firefighting.

Natasha is a self motivated woman and amazing mommy who lives in picturesque Niagara on the Lake.

Many of you will recognize Natasha from the days when she was my partner in crime at the One of A Kind Show and worked here at the glamjulz studio.

A few years ago Natasha gave birth to a very special little girl. Her little princess is the center of her universe. She has a wonderful supportive family who she loves dearly.

She prides herself in being a sales person extraordinaire, which has afforded her the ability to create a perfect work/life balance.

Natasha grew up in the little town of Grimsby, Ontario and loves to get back there often to visit with her family and friends. Her energy is infectious and her drive to succeed in whatever she’s doing doesn’t go unnoticed.

In her mid 30’s Natasha suffered greatly with anorexia. She knew her life had to change in order to reach the one thing she wanted more than anything ... pregnancy.

Lindsay is a mom of 2 young boys and lives with her husband in Muskoka.

10 years ago, in downtown Bracebridge, she opened Little Black Bow Lingerie, a lingerie and bra fitting boutique. Little Black Bow specializes in finding you that perfect fitting bra to suit every occasion throughout your life in sizes ranging from A-K cup.

The shop has been recognized several times over the years as one of the top 10 Canadian and North American stores by Best of Intima Magazine. In addition to owning the store Lindsay is also the President of the Bracebridge BIA Being born and raised in Bracebridge, she and her husband moved back to the area after living in the GTA and then a 3 year adventure out west.

Ultimately, they knew Muskoka would be the place they called home. When she isn't slinging bras, free time is spent on the lake at the family cottage in the summer and hitting the snowmobile trails in the winter.

Kim is a Designated Lay Minister in the United Church of Canada. She is currently working at Wellington Square United Church in Burlington as the Director of Children’s Ministry. Kim is licensed through the Province of Ontario to officiate weddings and she has been enjoying creating personal wedding ceremonies for couples over the past 6 years years.

Kim also walks with people on their journey when dealing with the death of a loved one. Kim loves spending time with her family, she and her husband Jeremy have been married for 21 years and they have two amazing daughters. Aimee is 19 and in her second year at the University of Guelph and Haylee is in Grade 11.

I got to know Kim when one of my best friends passed away a few years ago. She helped me through a very difficult time in my life. Kim and I will be chatting about her career and how she got to where she is today.

Tuesday just happens to be my 17 year wedding anniversary and I'm excited to chat with Kim about weddings these days and the advice she has for couples before they tie the knot! Kim is a wonderful woman with a generous spirit and heart of gold!

I'm lucky enough to call this woman a dear friend.

Tracey is a loving, positive, enthusiastic ‘all-in’ sports Mom and stepmom. She is a co-parent of a big, loud, active blended family of six.

Years ago Tracey and I worked together. I've been so inspired watching her climb up the corporate ladder with such confidence in herself. She is smart, energetic and a passionate sales leader. Her communication skills are super effective and you should see how she navigates through her days, continually delivering results in a fast paced, competitive business environment.

Tracey also does her best to live an active, plant based lifestyle. I remember when Tracey told me she was going to do the "vegan thing" for six weeks. My Mom has inspired me since I was a kid, a hard working Mama who always had some sort of biz on the side. From selling hand made paper flowers, to her beautiful decoupage, to Avon and her own Income Tax biz, my Mom showed me by her example that I could achieve anything I put my mind to. When I hear that negative self talk in my head, it's always my Mom's voice I hear that tells me to never give up on myself.
