Thong Gate

Dave shared a personal tragedy involving his favourite pair of Havaiana thongs. After a mishap on his lawn, he blew out the front plug of his right thong. However, in a stroke of luck, he found two right thongs in his cupboard, albeit in different colours. This led to a humorous discussion about the durability of thongs and sandals.

Main Segments

Flat Earth Theories

We introduced a local character from Cairns, known as Bungie Mark on TikTok. Mark is a flat earther with some unique theories about how planes should fly if the Earth were a globe. His demonstrations using a globe and a dare ice coffee bottle provided us with plenty of laughs and head-scratching moments.

Dear Dave

We received our first "Dear Dave" letter from an anonymous listener(Well he was anonymous for a little while). The listener is in a relationship with a girl who has expressed interest in a threesome involving another guy. This led to a deep dive into the complexities of relationships, trust, and personal boundaries. Dave offered some thoughtful, albeit humorous, advice on navigating this tricky situation.

Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID)

We revisited the topic of DID with a new character, Solar, who has multiple alters. Solar's system includes a variety of personalities, including a bird named Kestrel and a non-human from Pluto. We explored the complexities and challenges of living with DID, providing both insight and entertainment.

• First off, Dave and I discussed the phenomenon of Tourette's Girls on social media platforms like TikTok, YouTube, and Twitch. We took a closer look at Baylen Dupree, a popular figure in this space with a massive following. We watched some of her videos, debated the authenticity of her Tourette's, and even touched on her appearance on Dr. Phil. We also checked out another Tourette's influencer, Rachel Orkney, and pondered the differences between her and Baylen.
• Next up, we ventured into the world of Twitch and discovered AI Jesus, an interactive generative AI that answers questions with a biblical twist. We had a bit of fun asking AI Jesus about the future success of our podcast and even tried to get some advice on Dave's "problem" with Mexicans. The responses were enlightening, to say the least.
• We didn't stop there, though. We also interacted with other AIs, including a rather unhinged AI Donald Trump and a surprisingly aggressive AI Joe Biden. Their colorful language and policy-driven answers gave us a good laugh and some food for thought.

We kicked things off by discussing the phenomenon of NPCs (non-player characters) on YouTube, where individuals like Pinky Doll and Cherry Crush earn a pretty penny by performing repetitive, scripted actions live for their audience. It's a strange new form of entertainment that's raking in serious cash, and we're both amazed and slightly bewildered by it.

Next, we touched on the topic of dating expectations in the social media age, featuring a clip of a woman with some pretty steep financial requirements for her potential partner. It's a funny yet telling example of how some people's expectations might be flying sky-high.

Our awards segment was a hit, with the "Weird and Not So Wonderful" award going to the concept of the Butt Baby Big Brother, a bizarre product that left us questioning if it's a real thing or just a joke. The "Wanker of the Week" award was handed to a road rage participant who got a surprise visit from the police mid-tantrum. And finally, our "Deadset Legend of the Week" went to a quick-thinking truck driver who used the "gay lover defense" to avoid a mask-wearing fine during a police stop.
