Jo's father, Sir Anthony Berry MP was killed in the 1984 IRA bombing of the Brighton Grand Hotel when Jo was just 27 years old. This event inevitably left a great deal of trauma in its wake, which Jo would begin to unravel some years later when she reached out to meet Patrick Magee, the man responsible for planting the bomb that killed her father.
