He got his first big break directing 3 Ninjas, which led to getting Cool Runnings. Then he went on to direct Phenomenon with John Travolta, the Kid with Bruce Willis and the National Treasure films with his old classmate Nicolas Cage. That’s just naming a few of his movies. He also Produces and Directs TV shows such as Jericho. He gives us all the inside scoop on being a director from BH and we also discuss his father who was a legendary writer on the Carol Burnette Show, Sanford and Son and What’s Happening. We also get into some of the humanitarian efforts he does to give back. He's got great stories about his career, working with Nicolas Cage, and even a story about Tom Hanks.

Please Subscribe if you like what we're doing (or even if you don't) and give us a rating (only if you like us) and talk to us on Facebook or Instagram and most importantly share the podcast with two friends.

To support David, think of him when you think of Real Estate (and podcasts):

www.DavidPassHomes.com

Send Stacy some love on Facebook and Instagram

@stacy_rubinowitz

Hosted on Acast.

David and Stacy are back for Season 3 and they've got the amazing Dr. Suzanne Gilberg joining them. Dr. Suzanne is a gynecologist, obstetrician, author, mother and talk show regular (to name a few of her talents). She brings together western and Ayurveda medicine in her private Beverly Hills practice. She is also the author of the book, Menopause Bootcamp - available everywhere books are sold and on audio. She's an all around amazing person and we cover it all, getting a lot of insight into why she's so special. For all things Dr. Suzanne, please visit her website:

https://thedrsuzanne.com/

To support David, please think of him when you think of Real Estate.

In this episode we talk with the amazing, Mandana Yamin. She was in our High School class of ‘84, but we learned so much more about her from this talk and what it was like to move from Iran to Beverly Hills. Her family came from Iran via Italy before the Shah was overthrown in ‘79. She was lucky to get out early before the revolution when the Ayatollah Khomeini took over. Her family was able to establish themselves in Beverly Hills early before they were forced to leave their country like so many other families. Beverly Hills is now 20% Iranian so Mandana’s story is a key part of the history of Beverly Hills and represents a time when Iran/US relations were extremely tense. It was amazing to hear how the Persian community of immigrants were able to support each other and really succeed.

Mandana's an amazing mother and has launched a great career doing interior design:

https://www.mandanayamin.com/about

Please Subscribe if you like what we're doing (or even if you don't) and give us a rating (only if you like us) and talk to us on Facebook or Instagram.

Happy Indie Pop by WinnieTheMoog

Link: https://filmmusic.io/song/6777-happy-indie-pop

License: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/

Total Happy Up And Sunny by Sascha Ende

Link: https://filmmusic.io/song/555-total-happy-up-and-sunny

License: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/

Hosted on Acast.

We were very fortunate to have the amazing and prolific Film Director, Jon Turteltaub, talk with us. He was a senior when we were freshmen at Beverly High. <itunes:summary>

We were very fortunate to have the amazing and prolific Film Director, Jon Turteltaub, talk with us. He was a senior when we were freshmen at Beverly High.

In this episode we have Charles Rosin or Chuck. He graduated Beverly High in 1970 and we had a great talk about what the school was like in the 60’s. We got talking about politics and some of the historic events he lived through before getting to his prolific writing and producing career. He wrote on two of my all time favorite shows The White Shadow and Northern Exposure. He’s best known for his work on BH 90210. It was great to hear his stories about this show that was so popular around the world and so Beverly Hills.

Claudia Wells joins Growing Up Beverly Hills for the Second Part of a two part Episode. In this part we start with talking about her role in Back to the Future. There's plenty of new info for the fans in this episode, but there's also just a lot to learn about life. Claudia opens up about some of the struggles she's had and is an inspiration in how with her faith everything seems to have worked out as it should have.

Although Claudia is best known for her role as Jennifer Parker (Marty's Girlfriend) in Back to the Future, David and Stacy remember her early acting parts and when she moved to Beverly Hills in the 8th grade. She started working in the opera when she was 8 years old and then got a guest role on the TV show Family before moving. She landed a ton of roles all before the age of 18 including Fame, Babies Having Babies, the sitcom adaptation of Fast Times at Ridgemont High and the Herbie the Love Bug tv series to name a few. Claudia also owns a great men's store, Armani Wells, where you can make an appointment and have Claudia style you herself. She is also an amazing mother and gives so much to charity and the fans.

To find out more about all things Claudia Wells visit her website:

https://www.claudiawells.com/

Looking for amazing food along with great music book an evening or Sunday brunch at Vibrato Grill Jazz:

https://www.vibratogrilljazz.com/

Please Subscribe if you like what we're doing (or even if you don't) and give us a rating and talk to us on Facebook or Instagram.

Happy Indie Pop by WinnieTheMoog

Link: https://filmmusic.io/song/6777-happy-indie-pop

License: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/

Total Happy Up And Sunny by Sascha Ende

Link: https://filmmusic.io/song/555-total-happy-up-and-sunny

License: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/

Hosted on Acast.

Eden Alpert comes to Growing up Beverly Hills to tell her story. Eden talks very openly about how even though her family had fame and fortune it wasn't as easy as you'd think. Her parents were divorced just a few years after she was born. Her father, Herb Alpert, was on the road a lot and her mother struggled with alcohol. Even with her challenges, she was able to enjoy the good times and appreciate them. Now she's found herself and her ideal life. She's raised a great kid, is in a great marriage and has the amazing Vibrato Grill (which you should visit for the best food and music in Los Angeles https://www.vibratogrilljazz.com/). Her and her family's philanthropy is really a lesson for all, Eden loves giving back and is very involved with many amazing charities.
