In this first episode I speak with my mother to recount the events that led to our (her and me in tow) fleeing our home in Tehran to Europe and eventually to the United States after representatives of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard showed up at our home to threaten her into compliance. We left Iran the next day, spend a few years in Europe, and finally arrived in the US during the Iran Hostage Crisis that presented a whole other set of challenges covered in pursuant episodes.
