Sharing The Stage returns this time with an official name and the beginning of a semi-regular release schedule, kicking off with Episode 3.

Your hosts Ian Scene and Kohl Ashby of Classic Jack are joined by a special guest from Feverlust and The Persistent Divide, Skaught Parry.

With multiple viewpoints represented, the conversation dives into several major current events, including what’s unfolding in Minnesota, the situation surrounding Venezuela’s liberation, and whether Greenland is truly up for grabs.

Rather than presenting expert analysis, the goal of Sharing The Stage is to create a space for open and honest discussion. Musicians talking through real-world issues from different perspectives, asking questions, challenging assumptions, and trying to better understand the world around us. Sounds cliché, I know, but it’s true.

This is not only Part 1 of the new IT movie in 2017 (Part 2 coming in 2019), it's also Part 1 for Ian Hates Movies talking Stephen King's IT! In th episode, Ian and Kelly talk about IT and the miniseries from the 90's!    

If you haven't seen IT yet, I'd be surprised. It killed (like that?) box office expectations and murdered (get it?) a bunch of box office records. Ian and Kelly dive deep into the new movie and the made for TV miniseries. There will be no book spoilers in this episode! Keep that in mind.

Netflix has gone and made one of Ian's favorite animes into an English movie...perfect time for Kelly to return to Ian Hates Movies right???

No intro today, just read one of the greatest monologues in cinema history that takes place in the 1984 "family" movie Gremlins!

"The worst thing that ever happened to me was on Christmas. Oh, God. It was so horrible. It was Christmas Eve. I was 9 years old. Me and Mom were decorating the tree, waiting for Dad to come home from work. A couple hours went by. Dad wasn't home. So Mom called the office. No answer. Christmas Day came and went, and still nothing. So the police began a search. Four or five days went by. Neither one of us could eat or sleep. Everything was falling apart. It was snowing outside. The house was freezing, so I went to try to light up the fire. That's when I noticed the smell. The firemen came and broke through the chimney top. And me and Mom were expecting them to pull out a dead cat or a bird. And instead they pulled out my father. He was dressed in a Santa Claus suit. He'd been climbing down the chimney... his arms loaded with presents. He was gonna surprise us. He slipped and broke his neck. He died instantly. And that's how I found out there was no Santa Claus."

Ian is extremely excited for this volume of Ian Hates Movies! It's the second most excited he could possibly be because Scream (1996) is his second favorite movie of all time! Ian and Kelly did NOT watch and review the Jennifer Lopez Sci-Fi thriller from 2000 (where Inception ripped off their idea from)...It's actually JUST Cell, the 2016 adaptation of Stephen King's novel of the same name. It stars Samuel L Jackson and John Cusack, but you'd never know how good they are by watching this "movie". That's all Ian and Kelly will give you on this one, because you really have to hear it to believe it. Don't watch it, that's for sure, haha. Just let Ian and Kelly be the martyrs for this one! This volume of Ian Hates Movies was twenty years in the making...just like Independence Day: Resurgence apparently...but seriously, how could you tell? Apocalypse is upon us! Is it because of zombies? Nope. Your worst presidential candidate got the nod? Nope. Oh I know...it's because of a terrible movie! Righty-O it is! If you haven't guessed it already, Ian and Kelly are talking X-Men: Apocalypse! That's now the 6th X-Men movie in the franchise and this one is almost the worst! That's really saying something (and Ian and Kelly are not counting the Wolverine movies...). Still better than batman v. superman at least! Ian and Kelly make the best of it though. Tangents that include Dragonball Z and a debate about Rose McGowan's feeling on marketing are all included! It's just too bad that Professor X didn't read Apocalypse's mind and find out if their mother's names were the same...that could have saved some major incidents and probably millions of lives!
