Although it's an episode all about Linda, we work in a little bonus discussion of the other Belchers we love and share our favorite songs from the watchlist.

Rob shares lots of wonderful insights, including his inspiration for the film and favorite scene to write. We also talk about the powerful portrayal of West Indian culture, as well as the brilliant use of Jamaica as a beautiful backdrop to the story. We celebrate the film for bucking tired tropes of plots driven by Black pain and death. We also get into memorable characters, such as Kerry and Germaine and close it out with a bit of thirst. It's a really fun time and we are so grateful to Rob for joining us.

Thanks to Jocelyn's mic snafu, we were able to watch the Rusical episode before recording the second half of our discussion.  We are happy to report that Kristine, the Drag Race newbie, enjoyed her very first Rusical.  We both agreed that it felt a bit long at times, but the episode was entertaining nonetheless.  We took exception to Jaida not being in the Top 3.  We were happy to see her work through the nerves and serve up a sexy performance.  We saluted the the return of Jamal Sims and share our thoughts on the night of 1,000 Michelle Visages theme.

Kristine is loving the fashions this seasons, so it should come as no surprise that she had more than one favorite look to share.  Jocelyn can NEVER settle on one pick, so she had multiple favorite looks too.  One thing is clear, Gigi and Jaida are SERVING this season and we are loving every second of it.

It's Drag Race, so of course we discuss the Lip Sync for Your Life face-offs.  As of the Rusical, we were still waiting for the performance that knocked our socks off, but the potential is clearly there.  We're keeping an eye on The Widow Von'Du.  We don't want to see her in the bottom, but there is no question that she is a lip sync assassin in the making.  We also chat about some past memorable lip syncs from the show.  

1:46:02 Top Contenders and Season 12 Favorites
We get into our top contenders as of the Rusical episode.  Gigi Goode is emerging as the queen to beat.  We are a little frustrated that Jaida does not get more love from the judges.  She should be a clear frontrunner, but the show seems to suggest otherwise based on her placement in challenges.  And then there are the queens we love and don't want to see leave - Heidi and The Widow.  We also talk about which eliminated queen we'd like to see return.

Each season, a few queens shine in their confessional interviews and give life to all of the drama and competition.  The Widow Von'Du is one of the funniest narrators to emerge on the show in a long time and we cannot imagine what an episode would be like without her wit and shade.  Not to be outdone, Heidi has also proven to be a force in the confessionals and we would truly miss her voice if she was eliminated.

As always, we started off with the sh*t we liked and sh*t we didn’t like this week.  Our panel had a LOT to say about the royal situation with Meghan and Harry, so we combined it into a “mega” topic and let the opinions fly.

Next, we get into our topic of the week - Crisis on Infinite Earths.  We start with our overall thoughts about the crossover, which we all agreed was a really fun time.  Legends of Tomorrow continues to stand out as the strongest of the shows because of the campy writing (and Beebo).  

As always, there was some sh*t we didn’t like.  We are TIRED of the writers not giving Iris West-Allen more to do on the crossover and cannot believe that Barry did not go running home to his wife once he realized he was on a new Earth.  We would have also liked to see more of the Legends get in on the fun, regardless of what promises Sara made to them about crossovers.  

We demand justice for Brandon Routh in Superman Returns! Although the film left much to be desired, there is no doubt that Routh is an amazing Superman and we were happy to see him in the iconic suit again in the crossover.  Lex Luthor ain’t shit, but he was good fun as he complicated things for our heroes trying to save the universe.  

Of course things take a thirsty turn, as we talk about Hoechlin’s “super wedges” versus Iowa-born, cornfed Routh.  We delve into Black Lightning being included in the crossover for the first time and chat about the characters who we wish were part of the action. We get into our favorite cameo appearances, including the delightful surprise appearance by Ezra Miller.  

Philip and Jocelyn also get into some heated discussions about a few members of the West family.  Let there be no mistake, this is a pro Iris and Wally West podcast!

]]> Join us this week as we cover the CW crossover event, Crisis on Infinite Earths.  We joined in on the crossover fun by teaming up with Sticky Keys and Philip of the Beacon Hills After Dark and Fandom Bite podcasts.  The Crisis on Infinite Earths sparked absolute chaos on infinite (technically three) podcasts and we loved every second of it!

As always, we started off with the sh*t we liked and sh*t we didn’t like this week.  Our panel had a LOT to say about the royal situation with Meghan and Harry, so we combined it into a “mega” topic and let the opinions fly.

Next, we get into our topic of the week - Crisis on Infinite Earths.  We start with our overall thoughts about the crossover, which we all agreed was a really fun time.  Legends of Tomorrow continues to stand out as the strongest of the shows because of the campy writing (and Beebo).  

As always, there was some sh*t we didn’t like.  We are TIRED of the writers not giving Iris West-Allen more to do on the crossover and cannot believe that Barry did not go running home to his wife once he realized he was on a new Earth.  We would have also liked to see more of the Legends get in on the fun, regardless of what promises Sara made to them about crossovers.  

We demand justice for Brandon Routh in Superman Returns! Although the film left much to be desired, there is no doubt that Routh is an amazing Superman and we were happy to see him in the iconic suit again in the crossover.  Lex Luthor ain’t shit, but he was good fun as he complicated things for our heroes trying to save the universe.  

Of course things take a thirsty turn, as we talk about Hoechlin’s “super wedges” versus Iowa-born, cornfed Routh.  We delve into Black Lightning being included in the crossover for the first time and chat about the characters who we wish were part of the action. We get into our favorite cameo appearances, including the delightful surprise appearance by Ezra Miller.  

Philip and Jocelyn also get into some heated discussions about a few members of the West family.  Let there be no mistake, this is a pro Iris and Wally West podcast!

No episode of I’ma Need More Wine would be complete without throwing a little shade and getting a little thirsty.  We question people who don’t love Baby Yoda.  Seriously, who hurt you?  We thirst over one of the baddest bitches in the galaxy, Cara Dune, and celebrate the legendary acting of Giancarlo Esposito.

Jocelyn remains completely on brand and could not choose a single character.  As a result, we discuss that sexy Jaqen H'ghar music, characters who are tired of everyone’s ish, and give some well deserved love to the Reed children.

Next, we get deep into our feelings about Theon Greyjoy and Jaime Lannister as we discuss our favorite character arcs from the series.  We also get into our least favorite arcs.  Jocelyn did not appreciate Littlefinger hustling backwards towards the end of his arc and Kristine wanted more development for Daenerys.  

We then move on to character deaths, which leads us to salute the Queen of Thornes once again for going out like a champ.  We discuss the deaths we liked, the deaths we hated, and the ones that left us in shambles.  If you are one with the thirst and the thirst is one with you, the segment on thirst traps will not disappoint!  We also settle a very important debate about the best Daario and chat about our favorite failed fan theories.  

The episode closes out with what’s next for fans and we revisit our prior discussion on Pose in response to a lovely listener letter.

Next up, we discuss our favorite and least favorite episodes.  Kristine talks about the brilliance of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which happens to be both of our favorite episodes.  Jocelyn discusses her runner up, The Lion and the Rose and delights in Varys serving up lots of side eye reaction shots.  We balance things out with a brief chat about our least favorite episodes and then move on to our favorite major characters, both of whom are from House Stark.  Jocelyn revisits the discussion from previous episodes about the importance of chosen family when talking about her least favorite character and Kristine talks about the shortcomings in the development of the Night King.

]]> We get right back into our discussion of Game of Thrones in part 2 of our trilogy.  In this episode, we share our thoughts on favorite and least favorite seasons.  Kristine’s favorite season included lots of Stark family feels, crying in front of delicious pies, and a memorable battle in the North.  Jocelyn could not settle on just one, so she discusses her tie for favorite season and reveals herself as a sucker for a “YASSSS QUEEN” moment with Dany.  

Next up, we discuss our favorite and least favorite episodes.  Kristine talks about the brilliance of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which happens to be both of our favorite episodes.  Jocelyn discusses her runner up, The Lion and the Rose and delights in Varys serving up lots of side eye reaction shots.  We balance things out with a brief chat about our least favorite episodes and then move on to our favorite major characters, both of whom are from House Stark.  Jocelyn revisits the discussion from previous episodes about the importance of chosen family when talking about her least favorite character and Kristine talks about the shortcomings in the development of the Night King.

As always, we kick off with things we liked.  Kristine celebrated the Nationals winning the World Series and Jocelyn applauded the magic of drag shows.  Support your local talent and tip the drag performers generously!  The Nationals played a double-header in the episode, as they were also the topic of discussion for what Kristine did not like because of their lack of solidarity with the Mystics (who were not extended an invitation to the White House, unlike their baseball counterparts).  Jocelyn revisited her gripes with two repeat offenders - Karamo Brown and people who disrespect the Emmett Till Memorial.

We transition into our Game of Thrones discussion by briefly pondering what we would do if we had dragons.  As you would expect, our responses are very on brand.

We begin by sharing what drew us to Game of Thrones.  For Jocelyn, it was the shock of Ned losing his head.  For Kristine, it was all about her loins and the actions of a certain naughty lion.  

Next, we get into a few noteworthy show vs. book differences.  An exhaustive discussion of the differences would easily give us content through 2020, so we limited our chat to a few key differences - some we loved, some we did not.  We then move on to what we liked about the series as a whole.  No discussion of what we loved about the series would be complete without a celebration of the genius of Ramin Djawadi. Ramin got Kristine deep into her Stark feels and Jocelyn makes an interesting revelation about which song was her favorite to wake up to every day.  The episode, which is the first of our three-part discussion, closes with our thoughts on what we did not like about the series.       We move on from our personal rants to one of the greatest rants/reads of all time, courtesy of the LEGENDARY House Mother Crystal LeBeija in The Queen.  In addition to LaBeija’s iconic reading skills, The Queen also highlights compelling explorations into the subjects’ views on military service and gender confirming surgery.    

      As many know, LaBeija is much more than a masterful reader.  She went on to start the system of house-sponsored balls that are the focus of Paris is Burning. We reflect on the insights from the film’s subjects, the idea of fantasy fulfillment through ballroom participation, and how vocabulary from the film has evolved (or in some respects lost its meaning) over time.  Grab your favorite beverage and join us!
