Troy has been with KIO since 2011 and has been one of the leading voices in the fight for equality in English football ever since. As Head of Development at Football's equality and inclusion organization, he leads on a variety of projects, ranging from the delivery of their education programmes in all English clubs’ academy programmes and events, and through their Raise Your Game initiative.

In light of recent events, prompted by the murder of George Floyd, Troy joined me to discuss the work done by Kick It Out, racism in football and wider society, and whether we find ourselves on the brink of real change.

Zac began his professional career for Gold Coast United in the A-League in 2009 before joining the Central Coast Mariners, where he was part of the title winning squad. A move to Sydney FC followed in 2015 but a lack of game time saw him head to Dubai with Emirates Club. In episode 18, Neil Atkinson, host and content manager of the hugely successful The Anfield Wrap (TAW) Liverpool Podcast and Fanzine, chats to host Dan Ogunshakin.

TAW is a collective of podcasts, radio shows, videocasts, live shows, magazine and website articles predominantly about Liverpool F.C. as well as the culture and music in the city of Liverpool.

As well as his work on TAW, Neil has written for various publications including the Guardian and the Liverpool Echo, has appeared on Sky Sports, Football Focus and more, written two books about the 2103/14 and 2018/19 seasons, and co-written and co-produced the film Native.

Mark enjoyed a 26-year football career that began in his native Australia before moves to Germany and then ultimately England where he would spend the majority of his career. While in England, Mark represented Bradford City, Middlesbrough, Fulham, Chelsea and Leicester. He won a record 109 caps for Australia during an international career that saw him play at two World Cups.

Shebby enjoyed an 18-year career at domestic level in Malaysia, enjoying spells at five different clubs and represented his country for nine years. In 2012 he became Blackburn Rovers’ Global Advisor, a position he held for a year. He currently occupies a similar role for Malaysian powerhouses Johor Darul Ta’zim.

Alex began life in the former Yugoslavia before going on to have a football career in Hungary, Australia, China and finally Singapore. At the age of 37 he made his international debut for his adopted home and became the first foreign-born player to captain the national team. He finally hung up his boots aged 44 in 2014 and that’s only half the story!

Sophie had a 14-year senior career in the women's game, during which she had three spells at Brighton and Hove Albion, and played for Chelsea, Reading and Lewes. She represented England at age group level and went on to win 24 caps for the republic of Ireland.

Now currently living in Thailand, Sophie tells Dan about her new life in the Kingdom and her new all-girls football academy, her time in the women's game, playing against USA star Megan Rapinoe for Ireland, and her hopes for women's football in the future.

On episode 11 of Inside the Beautiful Game, host Dan Ogunshakin meets former Premier League and Scotland star, Don Hutchison, who since retirement has become one of England's leading football pundits for ESPN, BT Sport, Premier League TV, and BBC Sport.

Don enjoyed a 17-year professional career that saw him start as a trainee at Hartlepool United before moving to English champions Liverpool aged just 19.

After four years at Anfield, he would go on to represent West Ham (twice), Sheffield United, Everton, Sunderland, Millwall, Coventry, and Luton Town.

First capped for Scotland in 1999, Don would go on to win 26 caps for his country, scoring six goals including a famous winner at Wembley in 1999.

Born in Birkenhead, Jason was a Liverpool fan and got a dream move to the club he'd supported all his life in 1995 and went on to make 139 appearances for the Reds.

After briefly returning to France, Ludovic returned to Asia, moving to Singapore where he eventually took over Etoile FC Academy.
