So, without further ado, let us introduce Truffle!

Truffle

Truffle is a Drow wizard who was adopted by Svirfneblin at the age of 6 (Deep Gnome) parents from an orphanage in Untherlass. She has limited memories of her life in drow civilization or how she arrived in Untherlass. Her early memories are of cave mushrooms, a spider crown, and violent event that is painful and difficult to remember. Her parents are called Feldspar and Bellis Seamfinder.

Truffle sat in the Red Banner & Fern, a modest establishment near the wizard university that served her free coffee every day (thanks to the manager is a good friend of her fathers). Which was good, because she definitely needed the coffee to keep up with all the work she had to do for professor Mallory at the university and definitely couldn't afford to drink at a place like this every day. Though today she was just relaxing before meeting the person she would be escorting as part of her latest contract underground.

She took in the atmosphere, listening to the sounds of the city, the beauty of the ferns mingling with thing red ribbons, the sun coming in through the windows. She stretched out and closed her eyes.

She drifted off into another world, one largely devoid of light, a world before she could remember fully but one she knew she had lived in. It was dark, cold, wet, and warm all at the same time. It swaddled her in silk, kept her fed, kept her family fed. Then the world shook. She opened her eyes in surprise to see a dwarf opposite her, grinning, having just thumped himself down.

He was young, with long blond hair and beard with ornate bronze caps at the end of his many braids. "So I hear yer Truffle Seamfinder, the university's resident spelunker".

She crossed her arms and tersely replied: "You could say that." She hated being surprised.

"Excellent! I'm Rurik". He held out his hand to shake and she took it. He smiled and there was an awkward silence for a moment.

"...so, Seamfinder, that your last name, or a title?" Rurik said.

"I was adopted, its the last name of my parents." She replied.

"So what about Truffle, whats the story about that name, then?"

She smiled. "My parents gave it to me because they say I'm a rare treasure that grew on the earth" she then changed the subject.

"Let's get down to business. I have read your itinerary. You want to go down into the Lubberk mine north of the city and so you need a guide, may I ask why you want to go there".

"Uh, well. I'm interested in heading down into an old mine... for personal reasons. I want to stretch my legs and see them tunnels for myself, to get close to my roots..." He trailed off, perhaps realising how silly it sounded.

"So... like a holiday for a dwarf? "

"You could say that I have a map and I have supplies. I'm actually ready to go right now but I suppose I can wait, oh!" He put a large pouch on the table. "Lots of silver for you, too, of course."

"It is likely to be inhabited by unsavory creatures, you do know that, right?".

"I figured so, hence the hefty sum!" He replied, beaming. "And a hefty sum it is, well then - lets head off then, shall we?"

Time passed and they arrived at Lubberk mine. They went in. It was dark, but neither of them needed light to see. The walls were flat, hewn by Dwarves long ago. Dwarven engravings and runes could occasionally be seen, but as they got deeper into the mine any such decorations became rarer and gave way to rougher earth. And webs. Big webs

"I should scout ahead" Truffle announced producing a shield from her cloak.

Rampant Rudy

Rampant "Rudella" Rudy is a ranger charged with guarding the roads and travelers of the swamps south of Untherlass. She has a dire flamingo called Splenditello. The two make a bizarre couple in normal circumstances, but when the battle is joined the two dance together as one, and any feelings of incredulity regarding their partnership give way to awe - and terror, depending on what side you're on.

Rudella was trained by Elven Swamp folk and met Splenditello at an early age.

"SPLENDITELLO!!!" A young Rudy yelled, splashing heedlessly into the water to reach her beloved friend. The great flamingo lept back from her at the last moment, not wanting to be muddied, which made her lose footing and slip and fall in the water. There was a playful look in Splenditellos' eye as she got up, then fell over again. She was rather clumsy when the elves weren't testing her in battle.

The flamingo gracefully reached out with one of his legs and tapped her on the forehead. Rudy closed her eyes and linked with him, experiencing the world as he did, and suddenly wanted to dance. She looked up at him and said excitedly "Lets dance!".

To Rudy's horror Splenditello fell into the muddy water suddenly, red feathers that were not his sprouting from his neck. A dart.

Without thinking she picked up Splenditello and ran. He was heavier than he looked, but she was big and strong from the training the elves put her through every morning. She looked at her and saw a man raising firing another blowdart. It was fast but she was faster, she rolled on to her back to dodge the incoming projectile, making sure not to injure Splenditello and continued running.

She was scared for her friend and did not know what to do, but her body acted on its own and she soon found herself back at her camp. She applied an antidote mixture the elves had taught her to his wound.

She picked up her bow and hid in the reeds listening. She thought she saw about 7 people behind the one that had attacked her. She readied her great elkhorn bow. When she saw them she fired 3 arrows felling one man, injuring one and hitting the shield of another.

On they came, rushing towards her camp. There were 5 now. She fired another arrow, deftly unstrung her bow swung it around to crack into the head of a man with a pockmarked face, laying him low.

She spun it around again, in the fluid combat style the elves had taught her and crushed the neck of another. She felt a read hot pain in her right thigh, and yelled, reeling back. She was then knocked down and pinned by one man. Another ran past her towards Splenditello. She had her knife in her hands but didn't pause to wonder how it had gotten there as she slashed at the legs of the one running to no doubt kill her friend.

He fell over shrieking with a nearly severed foot. She turned to look at the attacker pinning her to the ground, but only saw a rock as he brought it down on her head. She knew no more.

She came to later, elven singing around her, her vision blurred, but she could make out Splenditello standing over her. She was dazed and could barely think. Had the elves had saved her and Splenditello?

No, that wasn't singing, but shrieking of the men on laying injured on the ground - and she was still in the camp. Blinking, her vision now un-blurred she looked closer at Splenditello.

His thin feet were read and dripping blood, but uninjured. His beak was dripping blood. In fact, the once...

Vinda Kragg the Cloud Shepherd

Hailing from the rocky mountains outside of Unthalas, VInda Kragg is one of few remaining cloud shepherds. A mystical group of half-giants that help create the clouds that roam the blue skies. When the clouds form over the ocean and head up into the mountains, VInda Kragg takes only what is needed to water the mountains and the land and then sends the rest off over the other side so that the inland dwellers can also have water.

Of course, sometimes the clouds don't come his way so every often he travels to the city to buy salt water to seed more clouds in the mountains. Kragg enjoys his trips to civilization as it gives him a chance to watch all the wonders of life. He especially enjoys spending time at the gardens and watching the butterflies. He is a gentle soul at heart and loves listening to the stories of the small folk. - ISAAC

So, without further ado, let us introduce Frank the Lion!

Frank the Lion

Frank started life as a small plush toy for the wealthy Von Leich family. He was a gift to the young master Hans. Of course being a magical city and a family with large amounts of disposable income, they had the small toy lion brought to life. Frank would be Han's companion as he grew up, however, the boy turned into quite the sadistic monster and Frank being born of a soft child's toy, decided to leave for a more friendly child.

Although his appearance was fearsome, Frank was a big softy and he soon found himself at St Billy's Orphanage. The headmistress was a kind old woman who was skeptical at first of a great lion wandering up to her front door, but after she saw his friendly nature and his ability to scare away the local gang members with nothing more than his presence she left him inside.

The child all love him and he quietly sits while they play around him. He provides a great sense of strength and protection for the children. - ISAAC
