On Thursday March 21st, 2024 - Licy & Troy host Lucas Rinz, the first musician out of Licy’s new house - in what we call “the craft room” will be our occasional new office space for shooting these vlogs! Lucas is a guitarist and singer/songwriter from Central New Jersey and found his rhythm in life in the city of Philadelphia. Lucas has been playing guitar for almost 20 years, and you can catch him every weekend at Fergie’s Pub in the band at Live Band Karaoke. His next show is at Roberta Faceplants Birthday Party June 7th at the Black Squirrel Club in Fishtown, accompanied by Honey Butter!

Episode 10: We're So Back

We are sooooo back!!

On Wednesday July 26, 2023 lol Licy and Troy got together where it all began, Zach's office! We discuss everything and anything. Between memorable memes and great gaffs over our first season. Over the last 10 episodes we had a lot of firsts, a lot of success and a lot of phuck ups, but it still came out okay, right?

Through a bottle of champagne, greens and good ass tequila, we reminisce over very memories. Including our first musical guest Alec Stewart, our first pianist Jared Minetola, old friends Will Tackett and Rushina Khan. Remember when we interviewed our first Dead Head cover band, Cubicle Shamans? That was hectic, but a good time! And of course our local politician Luz Colon!

We have learned a lot from the social experiment of having a podcast for a Season. So we are continuing our podcast journey for Season 2! Expect more memes like the Jerry Garcia Button, breaking the fourth wall, and of course sharing local artists and their stories.

Episode 9: Max Tab's Birthday Pride Rave

On Sunday, May 28th - I went on my first solo episode excursion to celebrate Max Tab AKA rave daddy himself ‘s birthday!!! For his birthday he casually threw a mini festival the Sunday before Memorial Day and into Monday morning at Glendinning Rock Garden.

This festival was also a fundraising event to kick off June - the month of Pride - for local Philadelphia charity foundation, The Ark of Safety. Max’s friends Somewhere in Philadelphia - the DJ collective showcased in this episode embrace helping out the local community - acceptance - dance and of course - love.

Showcased from Somewhere are Joshua Gregor, Max Tab, Kidd Buddha, and newcomer Waycool Junior.

We also got the chance to meet local legend, Nobi from Dub Snacks whom Somewhere was able to collaborate with at the park as they were also having their annual Dub Snacks BBQ event for Memorial Day.

On Wednesday May 10th, 2023 - we got the wonderful opportunity to interview Luz Colón. Known in this state of Pennsylvania as former Executive Chief of Latino Affairs under Governor Tom Wolf. Now she is coming back to her City of Brotherly Love here in Philadelphia running for City Council At Large. We cover her plan for success if she wins the primary election on Tuesday, as well as a brief history of her 25 years in politics. Luz is a single mother of 2 teenage boys, and a prime example of leadership for this community going out live into her personal projects (including but not limited to; creating 76ers La Liga Del Barrio: Phillys first Latino Youth Basketball League) to help for a better Philadelphia consistently.

When we first started creating and brainstorming who to highlight in this wonderful city, I (Licy) had thought of many amazing regulars who showcase their talent at Fergie’s Pub, where I bartend open mic. Will has a soft voice and powerful lyrics. Conveniently, Will and Troy went to high school together and we reminisce on their younger years a bit and the technology Will has been working with at Penn. On our 5th episode of Literally Licy, Licy and Troy met up with the Cubicle Shamans; a Philadelphia based Grateful Dead cover band. Jerry Garcia is their God, and their drummer Dave has become their musical shaman. On March 25th, 2023 we interviewed Dan, Greg, Dave, and Alex of the Cubicle Shamans…. In their cubicle. AN OFFICE space fully equipped and functioning as a music studio the boys use to practice and record their legendary STAPLES. FILED away on the 17th floor of one of the biggest buildings in Center City, we dived in on all of their amazing Philly Phavorites; including but not limited to their unanimous decision of Bob and Barbara’s being their phave bar! During the editing process, Dan started his move and quit the band to get his masters degree at the Ross School of Business in Michigan. We discuss this change and also the 2 other members Jake and Matt who couldn’t make it out during the interview. Through laughs and cans of Narragansett, get to know the Cubicle Shamans and stay for the treat of 2 cover songs: Fire on the Mountain by The Grateful Dead and Rooster by Alice In Chains.
