After a bit of a hiatus, we're back--just in time for Alien Mayhem May (Part 2)! We watched this little gem, directed by Tim Burton, last May but didn't get around to editing it until recently. It's a long-time favorite of ours, a delightful love letter to mid-century schlocky sci-fi movies that is absolutely packed with 90s Hollywood darlings like Pierce Brosnan, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jack Nicholson, and Danny DeVito (along with up-and-comers like Jack Black and Natalie Portman). So come on down, grab yourself a plate, and listen to us gab about aliens, aesthetics, and cinematic tomfoolery. Also, we fail a lot at basic math.

Join us at the table for some of this cheesy sci-fi rom-com goodness as we discuss 80s/90s aesthetics, the Chucky Cheeses of yesteryear, and the peculiar kind of sex-positivity that makes this movie stand out.

Truly getting into the spirit of Amnesia Boy April, we got amnesia and missed several episodes! But we've finally regained our memories just in time to drop one (maybe two!) episodes before the end of the month. This week's feast is X2, the sequel to X-Men, featuring one of Jess' favorite Amnesia Boys ever: Wolverine. An excellent superhero film that holds up incredibly well even twenty years later, our conversation runs the gamut from the more typical plot and character analysis to gay beams, tired dads, and rite-of-passage self-insert teen fanfic.
