You start at the left lower corner and when you inhale you breathe yourself up the box, then you pause and wander with your mind across to the right upper side, then you exhale yourself down the box. Then you pause your breath again as you come back to the point where you started. It is a breathing technique you can do when you feel anxious, very nervous, or stressed and you need to step back from that edge. It has two benefits; the first benefit is you count.
