War of the Worlds 1995 RESTORED...On Halloween night, October 31, 1938, media impresario, Orson Wells and his Mercury Players presented a dramatization of H.G. Wells' “War of the Worlds” on the CBS radio network. Although events occurred beyond the time-table of plausible reality, listeners across America and beyond panicked. The radio play was THAT good. Decades later on Halloween night October 31, 1995, Phoenix news radio station, KTAR-AM presented an updated realization of the original frightening broadcast. It was written by Duffy McMahon, and starred her husband, Arizona radio celebrity, Pat McMahon and his KTAR Radio Players as well as many local news, talk, and sport celebrities featured on KTAR 620AM. This modern-day broadcast has been dedicated to the public domain by Ms. McMahon (https://archive.org/details/WarOfTheWorlds1995), and has been restored to even greater audio quality. However, the power of the acting and the original script remain throughout time.
