It's yet anther (barely) early release for SPC Patrons!

Has it been a year already?! Apparently it has, as SPC hits it's 52nd episode, and we circle back to one of the first characters we looked at way back in episode #2 - one Nicholas J. Fury. In 2014 good old "David Hasselhoff Nick Fury" had been shunted to the side in the Marvel continuity for his younger, blacker counterpart, "Samuel Jackson Nick Fury", but Marvel wasn't quite done with the character just yet. Instead, they gave us this 8 issue mini-series and 17 million spinoffs, as characters across the MCU have their deepest, darkest secrets revealed after The Watcher is murdered and his eyes are stolen, containing all the world's secrets! If it sounds absurd that's because it is, but if you think that's out there, just wait until you find out what "sins" 'old Nick Fury has secretly been up to all these years. Marc and Remso dig into all the sordid details as they battle their way through Marvel's "Original Sin!"

This version of Loki has come afoul of the Time Variance Authority, but it saved from a "Reset" by Agent Mobius, who takes Loki down a This Is Your Life style journey through his life as it played at in the main timeline had he not taken off with the Tesseract, before recruiting him to take out a murderous Variant - who is apparently another version of Loki.

As the Invincible TV series take the small screen world by storm on Amazon Prime, Marc and Remso dive into the first two volumes of the Invincible comic book by Robert Kirkman. Before he revolutionized the comic book and television worlds with "The Walking Dead", Kirkman introduced a brand new superhero title through Image Comics after pitching the concept to Erik Larsen. What seems like a standard superhero title at first quickly turns into something much wilder and crazier, and sends the reader down an unpredictable journey. In this week's Second Print Comics Podcast, Marc guides Remso down memory lane through the storyline that made him a life long Batman fan - Batman: Knightfall! This is the storyline presented the Dark Knight's greatest challenge by introducing the villain Bane, who would go on to terrorize Batman by releasing his entire rogues gallery from Arkham Asylum. This lead to the Batman being worn down through a series of battles before finally succumbing to Bane, who breaks Batman's back and takes him out of commission for over a year! Along the way, we get to meet A through D level villains including Joker, Scarecrow, Riddler, Killer Croc, Film Freak, Firefly, The Cavalier, Cornelius Stirk, Amygdala, and more along the way to the final, historic beating from Bane. Along the way, Marc manages to make several pro wrestling analogies, ultimately comparing Batman vs. Bane to Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena!

The X-Men were the hottest thing in comics in the early ‘90’s, so much so that America’s favorite mutants could no longer be confined solely to their mainstay title “Uncanny X-Men.” The simply titled “X-Men” , written by classic X-Men writer Chris Claremont and illustrated by Jim Lee, Marvel pulled out all the big guns for this launch. But it wasn't long before Claremont would leave, and Lee was soon bound for Image Comics. Did the X-spansion live up to the hype? Marc and Remso do a deep dive on this relaunch and dish on the good, the bad, and the ugly surrounding the launch of what is to this day the highest selling comic book issue (X-Men #1, 1991) of all time.
