Finally, they tackle the race and delve into the action at the beginning of the race that saw both Oscar and Carlos retire due to damage. From beginning to end, it was a non-stop ride!

O Canada | Upgrades, Rain, and Penalties Galore

Canada gave Dianne and Claire plenty to talk about on this week’s episode of she loves the grid. The friends start off by talking about the upgrades both Aston Martin and Williams brought to Montreal and then jump into some cool tributes that happened this week including, Charles' special Gilles Villeneuve helmet, 50 years of the safety car, and the diversity progress being made at Mercedes AMG. Viva Barcelona | A Fernando tattoo wasn’t in the cards for Claire this week in Spain

They share the reason why and Dianne talks about her experiences attending the Spanish GP in-person. Next, they get down to business and talk about the practices and how different it is to watch on TV vs. in-person where you don’t have all of the behind-the-scenes information to better understand what the teams are doing on track. The difference was very apparent during the crazy qualifying session where Dianne talks about the water on track that caused several drivers to spin and watching Gasley impede many drivers. Race day talk turns to some of the more stand-out performances and issues from the day, including Checo’s amazing race, a double Mercedes Podium, and, of course, Carlos and Alonso at their home race.

Ocon-ic Monaco | Intense qualifying, Rain, Countdown to Barcelona

So much happened in Monaco and she loves the grid is gonna break it all down. Starting with car updates, more Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari rumors and the Williams Gulf Livery contest for Singapore. Then Dianne and Claire tackle the intense qualifying session, from Checo’s crash in Q1 to the lack of communication at Ferrari that caused a 3-place grid drop for Charles Leclerc. For a race that started and ended in the same order there was a lot that went down and the best friends are talking about all the incidents (LOL) including Sainz anger with his Ferrari strategy, the Mercedes top 5 finish for both cars, and of course the amazing drive from Esteban Ocon to get his 3rd career podium. They also talk about the tale of 2 races for Red Bull and Aston Martin where Max and Fernando ended up on the podium while their teammates struggled the entire race. To wrap up this week’s episode the discussion turns to Barcelona! she loves the grid will be at the race in Spain and Claire confirms she’ll get a tattoo if Fernando wins…so keep manifesting for an Alonso and Aston Martin win at his home race!

There was a lot to talk about during F1’s first sprint race of the year in Azerbaijan and Dianne and Claire get into all of it. After 4 weeks off all the Formula 1 teams seemed to be finding their footing on a tricky circuit but Ferrari was finally able to secure a podium. The WDC could come down to a battle between Max and Checo as the Bulls continue to dominate on track. Off track, Max tried to get into it with George after the sprint race and Dianne and Claire have a lot of thoughts about that. Then in the first double header of the season, they break down what to expect in next week’s race in Miami!
