From studying the ins and outs of the condition and writing her university dissertation on SCD to finding holistic alternatives to help Barbara manage her sickle cell, being huge advocate supporter within the community and Business woman who inspired her daughter to follow in her fashion entrepreneurial footsteps and never allowing Barbara to feel shame or stigma for having SCD or a disability and making it her mission to educate every teacher, employer etc she encountered. Joyce Sodeinde story is a must listen and there are many tips that will help so many young mothers raising children with chronic illness and other disabilities.

Hey Everyone welcome to the first episode of the Sliving with Sickle Cell Podcast, my name is Barbara Biosah and I am a Sickle cell warrior, CEO & Fashion Designer of luxury womenswear brand DUMEBI

I’m here to bring you all of the fabulous tales, the struggles and the triumphs of living with Sickle cell Anaemia and running a business with a disability, there has been many highs and many lows but I think its important to share your stories and journey, We will be discussing some important topics and inviting some amazing guest speakers to share their experiences and their journey

This podcast is dedicated to help spread awareness of sickle cell anaemia, uplift and build a community of ambitious people who may have physical and/or emotional challenges that make being an entrepreneur or following your dreams that much harder

This episode we will discuss what is sickle cell, why I created Gideon’s Treasure foundation, the 4 main things that can contribute to the wellbeing and quality of life to people living with sickle cell or other chronic illnesses and what to expect from this podcast
