Described as an educational entertainer, Gerry Samson completed pediatric dental residency at Emory University, 1979 under the direction of Dr. Ed Hibbard and orthodontics at Northwestern University, 1981 under the direction of Dr. Hal Perry. Since that time Gerry has been in private orthodontic practice, is a Diplomat of The American Board of Orthodontics and a Fellow of The American College of Dentists. In addition to orthodontic private practice, Dr. Samson holds formal faculty appointments at 6 USA postgraduate programs, is consultant to private pediatric dental and orthodontic practices, lectures extensively both in the United States and internationally. In addition, he reviews orthodontic mechanics articles submitted for publication to The American Journal of Orthodontics and The Angle Orthodontist.

Matt is a specialist prosthodontist based in both Edinburgh and Glasgow. He graduated from Bristol in 2007 with distinctions and awards in academic and clinical dentistry,and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.  He regularly speaks nationally and internationally and has published articles in globally recognised, peer reviewed publication.

Dr. Brian W Darvell was formerly Professor and Chairman of the Department of Bioclinical Sciences in the faculty of Dentistry at Kuwait University. Prior to this he spent nearly 30 years in the Department of Dental Materials Science in the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Hong Kong. Dr. Darvell, a Chartered Scientist and Chartered Chemist, is still active in the field, holding an honorary professorship at the University of Birmingham (UK), and is a fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3), the Royal Statistical Society and the Academy of Dental Materials. He serves on the Editorial Board of the journal Dental Materials.

Brian is the author of Materials Science for Dentistry, Tenth Edition, a standard resource for undergraduate and postgraduate courses in dentistry. It provides fundamental coverage of the materials on which dentistry depends, covering the structure and chemistry that govern the behavior and performance of materials.

Dr Aman Ulhaq (BDS, MSc, MOrth, FDS(Orth)RCSEdin):

Aman graduated with BDS(Hons) from University College Cork, Ireland in 2004 and worked for a number of years in general practice. He undertook specialty training in orthodontics from 2011-2014 at Addenbrooke's Hospital Cambridge and the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital and graduated with an MSc in Orthodontics from King's College London in 2014. He obtained his Membership in Orthodontics from the He became a Fellow (Orthodontics) of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2016 and has been in the post of Consultant/Honorary Senior Lecturer (University of Edinburgh) since December 2016.

Aman has lectured both in the UK, South East Asia, China, and in North Africa. He was a member of the organising committee for the 94th European Orthodontic Congress in Edinburgh (2018). He is actively involved in teaching and training, and is an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He is also Regional Dental Advisor for South East Scotland. His research interests include clinical aspects of anomalies of tooth and craniofacial development as well as orthodontic materials

Maher is irish born and was raised in Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany. After completing his studies he worked in general dental as well as specialist practice in Germany until 2002 before returning to Ireland.

He went on to persue a 3-year full-time programme in Periodontology and Implant dentistry at Trinity College Dublin. Additionally he holds a MA in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and is currently completing his diploma in advanced conscious sedation techniques.

He has a keen interest in the management of the failing dental implant and the utilization of advanced bone grafting techniques. Currently he is engaged in a multi-disciplinary programme in the management of TMJ related issues which is taught in Freiburg, Germany. 

He has previously taught both on the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at Trinity College Dublin in restorative dentistry as well as periodontology.
