Darth Bane's victory over Jedi and Sith alike at the Battle of Ruusan was first told in a 2000 comic book miniseries called Jedi vs Sith.

But even that version of events - itself subsequently revised in the more well-known trilogy of Darth Bane novels - was weaving together two disparate pieces of lore established in the late 1990s.

In this episode we look at the first account given of the Battle of Ruusan in the 1997 computer game Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight and at the version of Sith history and Bane's story set out in 1999's novelisation of The Phantom Menace.
